No stats No stats No stats No stats Seriously. No one really gives a crap what goes on in No stats unless they're just a tryhard or rager by nature. Feel free to add me and/or Elk and we can play some no stats games with you to help teach you the ropes. I mean if Elk (the lesser of the two) can teach Wongtong how to play this game pretty decently I think we can help you out. e: Hell we could do a no stats no ab game if we got a bunch of us on (Me, Elk, you, dan, wongtong) and just help you guys out. Could teach you guys a lot about team composition, laning strategy and the like. I mean me and Elk aren't the best players out there (Elk pretty terrible and gets carried by me) but I am technically in the top 1% or so of HoN players PSR wise. :P (almost 1800)

(I'm making a new thread for this rather than bump up the old thread as it was about the beta + OP doesn't update it at all.) So this is a thread to discuss the game Heroes of Newerth, which is a "DoTA style" RTS that places an emphasis on teamwork and personal skill rather than micro. I will keep any resources here that I find can help out new players to the game. Questions and Answers: What is the difference between DoTA, HoN and LoL? DoTA and HoN are very similar in terms of mechanics. THIS is a great explanation of what has crossed over from DoTA and what is different. The differences between HoN and LoL are fairly numerous. While they both are the same style game LoL puts more of an emphasis on a casual friendly experience. (with "leveling up" a global player who has talents and such that effect your in game stats). Heroes of Newerth was built from the ground up as a competitive and spectator game. Everyone starts on the same playing field from the moment you start the game, the only difference being personal skill and team composition. Mechanically there are several things that separate the two games. HoN has what we call "denying" which is, essentially, killing your own creep when it reaches a certain % of hp to deny a portion of the XP to the enemy. (You can also deny an ally player if they are low enough and have a lethal DoT) LoL has no such thing as denying creeps or heroes. Also unless I'm wrong (someone correct me here) LoL has no such thing as runes, which are "buffs" that spawn every 2:00 minutes in the river. The map is also significantly different, alongside of a lot of other mechanical differences that aren't worth mentioning. How much does HoN cost? $30 one time fee. How many heroes (characters) are there? There are currently 70 heroes in the game. 22 of those heroes are original S2 or community creations and the other 58 are DoTA ports. I don't really see anything fun in getting [cabbage]stomped by a rush in like 7 minutes. Lol. Than again I'm an awful awful starcraft player from my limited time spent in the SC2 beta. Decent list, I can def agree with BG2 on it.

I have to agree with Latios, I'm not a big fan of them save for maybe the fourth one. There's not a whole lot going on in any of them which is pretty important for these sort of action shots. Also I'm a firm believer in no helmets for skateboarding/longboarding. >_> Hell if I ever wore a helmet when I used to skateboard :P. But back on topic the 4th one is actually pretty good save for the sky. If you compare it and the 1st image the 4th just has a way better composition. To be honest the 1st looks more like a quick snapshot :(

I'm not too interested. Heard it has a lot of bugs and I didn't really like Fallout 3 that much.

Um I've never heard of PG14 but watch Paranoia Agent. It's not really too suggestive or violent and it is a brilliant show.

Well, it's a devilishly hard platformer game much in the vein of something such as "I want to be the guy" (infact, the youtube link has you playing to get the IWTBTG character). The game is coming out Wednesday and until Nov 1 it will be $10. ($15 after that). It has an estimated 300 levels with free DLC coming soon as well. Just wondering if anyone else plans to buy this because I do.

Meanwhile on PC... I just don't go to hacked servers :)

Ended up doing a bit of a winning streak today on HoN with Elk. Pretty fun Went from like 1785 - 1799 (get about 3-5 rating a game). Then winded down with a no stats match since you can just [bleep] around and not care :P. Oh hey you're playing hon again now? Add me (Cyrant) and ElkNight and we'll teach you the ropes in some no stats. To be honest I would just play a bunch of no stats if I were you until you learn the game a bit. People leave all the time in them but its a great way to learn the game. But yeah, add us :P. Oh and don't pay attention to kids in "noobs only" games. They join those because its the only thing they can stomp and it makes them feel good about themselves. trust me the guys crying probably get trashed hard in even semi-decent games.

Oh my a positive K/D! Meaning that they could perform well using that tactic. Has nothing to do with caring about k/d or not if that's what you're implying. I'm implying that a positive K/D doesn't mean you're doing well nor is it hard to get...

There's talk and a teaser trailer of a spiritual successor from the same devs. Yeah. I really liked the game. I don't have it anymore (got it from gamefly) but it was a lot of fun. Just wish there was more people playing for PvP :P.

I figured someone would bring this technicality up... And there is a difference between mixing two legal drinks and making meth. I'm sorry. It's not like you're sitting here with a chemistry set making a vodka and redbull. No that's not what i mean.
