Just had an awesome TF2 match. So me and my friend get stuck on a horrible team, right? Well I went heavy and he went medic. We managed to hold the first cap point of dust bowl (pretty much alone, everyone else sucked) for 5 mins, than the last point for close to 10. Sadly though we had to hold for like 30mins and he had to leave. Still, I managed to do 5700 damage within one life on my heavy. :D (after my medi left).

Hopefully you don't mind if I ask but who is he? Terrible to hear that though, bad way to go out. :(

So what's it like? Its not bad, a lot like diablo 2 except in 3D. The demo isn't too terribly big but what I saw so far was nice.

I say there is an apple somewhere on this planet, a very specific apple. Now you could spend your entire life looking for this one, certain, apple but never find it. Many people could spend their lives looking for it, but on a large planet the chances would be almost none. However, the apple still exists. The same is true for aliens (par-say). I'm not saying its why they are real, I'm not, but I'm saying that to simply dismiss the idea (even though backing it is the sheer mathematically probability that out of billions or, nay, trillions of planets there are some that support life and some that could possibly have it) because we haven't 'seen' them yet is absurd. Now you've said it yourself, the bible could be wrong but god still be there. Why than is it so difficult for you to believe that? As far asalien life visiting us, I don't think there is a large chance. Unless there is a species far far advanced to us it just won't happen. And, even then, out of all the planets the chance for something to visit us is, well, slim.

Me and my roomate are simply waiting for the portal dev kit to come out on SDK and we plan on trying to make a portal multiplayer game. If anyone has ever played ricochet its the same kind of objective (can't hit the ground) but with portals. Imagine, if you will, being able to shoot a portal under someones feet and have it above a [bleep]ed trap, or something like that. The guy could try and move out of the way or make another portal of his to get out of it, ect. ect. I'm fairly certain there will be a portal 2. (in the dev commentary he states "the first portal"). Also a lot of the hidden messages are probably for help linking the game to the half life universe. We should see the main character (C Johnson) of portal in Half life EP3. My speculation: [hide]I think that we will find the main character on the boralis. If you noted at the end of EP2 they talked about it, and how it was just randomly put into the arctic. Now think, very hard, what kind of technology could do that? Portals. My speculation is that they were testing larger portals and in a freak accident teleported the test site into the arctic. I think we'll find C johnson there as well, although I'm not sure why she would be there exactly. [/hide]

Because ghosts are really suggesting something a lot different than aliens. The reason so many are inclined to believe other life is out there is just because of the shear mathematical probability that there is other planets supporting of life out there, and likewise at least some that has life on them.

Well it is true that vista takes more ram to run smoothly, but to be honest anyone with 2GB+ of ram should be just fine.

Trying to think though, just for emulators/homebrew how large of a disk would be necessary? I was debating between 1GB/2Gb, and possibly 4GB.

Half life 2 works on vista, in fact I haven't seen anything really that hasn't (ran on my roomates PC, which has vista).
