The official World of Warcraft thread.
Actually, I was refering to the Soul Siphon nerf - our drain mana no longer benefits from it, and more dots are required to reach the maximum effect. In a 1v1 with an SL/SL warlock, I think that nerf means a 4% damage reduction on drain life. But it will lower Drain Life scaling in raids, which is what's really pissy because they buffed that for a reason back when they remade our talents. The reason I didn't mention the drains nerf is that I think it's generally quite [developmentally delayed]. You screw over affliction warlocks in an effort to balance SL/SL warlocks, but do it in a manner that preserves our strenght against classes we are already strong against and tone it down against classes we are weak against. Mortal strike preventing affected a 5K single heal is hawt. Out of 15 seconds of uninterrupted draining (which never happends) Mortal Strike is going to mean less than 2700 hp less with full draining and siphon life going. Enough to piss off an affliction warlock, but not really enough to chew into the margin of a SL/SL warlock, because their greatest strenght is still the fact that as long as the demon is alive their effective HP goes up by a flat 20%. That's 200 for every 1K of health, leaving a 12K warlock with Soul Link at 2400hp effective hp, discounting armour. It also means that every point of healing that gets through - after being upadjusted by 20% from Fel Armour - requires 1.2 points of damage to negate. What makes drain life so dangerous is not the healing effect, but the way in which it does damage. If I cast an uninterrupted string of Shadowbolts for 15 seconds I'll do X damage. If something is hitting on me for the same 15 seconds, my DPS will drop due to pushbacks (less so if I'm destruction, but drain life is affliction). If my opponent can move around, there's a fair chance my DPS will drop due to "must face your target" or in more specific situations, Line of Sight. The important thing to remember is the fact that spell pushbacks lowers my damage output. Not so with drain life. Spell pushback on drain life means I need to recast it more often, which means my damage per mana goes down. My DPS however, is compared to shadowbolt, quite unaffected, and that's what I'm really killing with. Now, unless all the chatter of how much HP an SL/SL specced warlock has left after a fight is just whining hyperbole, the margins introduced here - again, on affliction spells - are not going to make a significant difference. Affliction warlocks will be nerfed, and SL/SL warlocks will still be overpowered. Makes no sense, and while the developers sees "how it pans out", no actual balance fixes are introduced on a specc that draws primarily of demonology. If people weren't so busy cheering over "warlock nerfs" they'd realize what really just happened is that SL/SL warlocks got another patchs' worth of respite until they finally get balanced, which is another, what, six to eight weeks worth of being overpowered. Oh, and this affliction warlock nerf, only really works in fights against two classes too, the two classes that already had an easy time to rip non-SL/SL warlocks to shreds. I guess you're just ignoring then that the most popular SL warlock spec is heavly based around drain life as well, right?

The first siggy/gfx you ever made?
Sadly my first sig is probably like.. 5 PCs ago lol. All I should say though is this: - Powerpoint - Runescape (classic) image - Bad text. Yeah, I cropped out a picture of my character (long blue hair, purple pants) and pasted it on a green background with some text. lol.

The official World of Warcraft thread.
Its a nerf but absolutely needed. Why MS never worked for your drains before was beyond me.

what do you mean "some abstract?"

Deep Blue:: New abstract sig!
What do you think? Kind of wanted to steer away from this whole plopping a random image in my sig deal and going back to what I like. Not sure if I like this one or not, but I'll leave that up to you guys.

A short animatic..
Nice work as always mate, I love it. :P

Its not that great. The text (I assume its text, can't read it) is really aggravating over the image. The image you used also takes up a good 90% of the signature which can't showcase anything you actually did. As far as the background it looks like a random filter pile, or at least what looks like a radial blur kind of thing -- maybe a few brushes but I don't know. It also doesn't have a border which doesn't exactly help, and I'm not too sure about the text placement. The glow around the guy is pretty cheesy too.

EA buys Pandemic Studios and BioWare
According to IGN, Madden sold over 7 million copies last year, making it the top selling game of the year. Apparently we are sheeps who buy everything we throw at them. We aren't strong, we aren't a legion, and we sure as hell aren't no goddam internet. That's why they don't change how they do business Yup, you have to remember too that there is a very (very) large 'casual gamer' market. These are the people who eat up Sims 3913 and every Madden sequel and whatever other junk comes from publishers such as EA.

The Orange Box :o
Typical console kiddie. I have played portal, hated it, still think halo is better. (I even think tetris is better) Let me guess, you played the first two levels and stopped right? Sorry there isn't enough bloodshed for you.

Unreal Tournement 3: Beta Demo out
Was 20fps on that big map, but it played really smooth TBH. I think I'd get around 35 on a closer quarters deathmatch type. ( I had it on ALL highs).

Unreal Tournement 3: Beta Demo out
Nope, its a free demo. Kind of a crappy screenshot but shows in game graphics.

Unreal Tournement 3: Beta Demo out

Spyware/Tracking Bugs on Runescape
Honestly, I would suggest you just don't use the internet anymore. If you're going to be this paranoid and uptight about it who knows what you'd think about the rest of the internet. And really, dishonor? Its a java based game, and thats it. To think that it wouldn't track something is just crazy talk. Also the fact that you think they should be honest about everything. Its like telling a robber where every escape route, security camera and details about a bank -- its not smart. Likewise most botters are not terribly intelligent, and any kind of system is better than none. The largest thing is that currently this does not hurt you at all. Chances are no one is even LOOKING at what you are doing, and instead are only looking for suspicious hits. Face it, you're one in millions and any company just simply doesn't have the time to look through that.

rate my sig?
Doesn't look like you did anything except add text on a ripped image. 0/10.

EA buys Pandemic Studios and BioWare
They don't have the rights to KOTOR, they only have Bioware/Pandemics original IPs. Star Wars publishing is exclusive to Lucas Arts. And they also don't have the rights to any Baldur's Gate/Neverwinter Nights games, for the same reason. It shouldn't be too bad; people complain a bit too much about EA. Like Nadril said, many people I've talked to don't even seem to realise that Valve had Ep1 and now the Orange Box are distributed by EA, and flip out when they see the tiny logo on the box. And if anyone made another KOTOR it would probably be Obsidian anyway. Exactly. While EA original titles may be bad for many reasons (not for this thread) the companies they buy they really don't have any say in.
