  1. Sorry, but I'm not feelin' it. - Why those items in particular? There's a plethora of t11 equipment. - The improvements are just . . . overpowered and kinda random. It's hard to say that the primal 2h will be the new staple weapon until the floors actually come out. Having a team with a variety of attack styles might become incredibly important. We just don't know. That said, I'm not against the idea of t11 weapons (all of them) having specs. I just don't see a reason for it at the moment.
  2. Snazzed the first post up a little. I'm pretty much gonna dungeoneer hardcore when I get P2P back.
  3. Kinda off-topic, but I thought this was funny. I'm sure you all know by now that the sprites for the sagittarian long/shortbows in the KB are wrong, right? Well if you open the sprites up in a new tab and change the URL -- maple_shortbow/longbow to either sagittarian_longbow or sagittarian_shortbow -- you get the correct sprites. #-o
  4. I really doubt it. It'll either be the primal 2h or plate. I'm guessing plate, personally.
  5. Eliite? We are playing RS here. C'mon now it's not the most challenging game in the world other than spending time on it. How does that work with your 81 dung with frosties? What drops from TD's give you this supposed earning power? dragon claws and dragon armour pieces oh and btw killing tds for effigies is faster rc xp/h than zmi if you can open the effigies. This, and I never once said that I could camp frost dragons. I don't know why you brought that up, jrhairychest.

I award you +20 cool points for being a LOTR fan :D LOTR is just epically fun to read, so this might be somewhat on topic? maybe? Idk. And now, I really must go to bed. Fun off topicness is fun. Goodnight all. Indeed. You can read LOTR while you raise your cooking skill. ;)

    I'm a huge LOTR fan. I can't believe I never thought of that. #-o
  8. That's nuts. Also, Elvis has some pretty impressive minigame ranks (and two of his minigame scores are at 1337, lol).

I study French, so I just assumed Pere (French for father [needs an accent, though]). EDIT: And wow, this discussion has gone way off-topic.

Pere-Grin. Stim-u-li (sti-mu-li? OH GOD AND I'M SUPPOSED TO BE AN ENGLISH MAJOR). wat.
  11. You have to upgrade. You can just buy one of the wands from the GE and start from there, though.
  12. The only boss we have that's even remotely challenging is the Corporeal Beast. All you have to do is compare the sheer amount of low/medium-level content to high-level content to see how utterly unbalanced it is. I don't think elite players are asking for there to be just as much content for them, but there needs to be some attempt by Jagex to acknowledge us. I'm happy that Dungeoneering is finally going to have truly epic content for high-level players, but it's still not enough. Most of what you listed is available to all players equally. EDIT: I'll never understand why low-level players are so selfish.
  13. A quest for which a combat level of 100+ is recommended was the best example of a recent low level update you could find? The void quests require both a low combat level and low non-combat stats. It's a low-level update. No, that's medium-level at the lowest. I can concede to that.
  14. Soloing will be pretty decent once warped floors are released. At 95+, it'll be faster than most other skills, and certainly more entertaining.
  15. I immediately ran to Falador, then went through gate to Taverly. I got P2P the first day it was available. umad.jpg

I, like Bladewing, only find combat skills to be fun. MHing, slayer, PVP, and dungeoneering -- that's it. Everything else I do is for the purpose of increasing my performance in those areas (hence my fairly high herblore level).

Yet you continue to present your argument as such. "thats the external stimuli being fun, not the actual skill." Again, learn to read, my argument is that the skill isnt fun, any external stimuli is as the name implys, external. The external stimuli and the act of training the cooking skill are one in the same. Most players (with the exception of you) do not separate the two. I don't particularly care whether or not cooking is fun in itself -- that's not my argument. EDIT: Interestingly enough, I have yet to make a personal attack. I have, however, been told that I need to "learn to read." Hm.

Significant flaws? Just because i don't consider external activity to be in any way related to cooking is not a significant flaw. The fact you have to distract yourself with external activity means that cooking isnt fun enough on its own. You seem to be adamant that people stare at their screens while they train AFK skills. Is it because you, yourself, do that? I'm afraid that you're in the minority.
  21. Yeah, it seems that perm teams are becoming almost essential.
  22. Obtaurian replied to Kietaro1's topic in General Discussion
I'm not going to argue with you if you continue to gloss over significant flaws in your points.
  23. Obtaurian replied to Kietaro1's topic in General Discussion
You're separating cooking and x activity again. You can't do that because it has no basis in reality. No one just cooks rocktails and stares at the screen for hours. I'll ask you again: is talking to your friends or watching a movie while cooking rocktails fun?
  24. Obtaurian replied to Kietaro1's topic in General Discussion
I'm not, ive acknowledged that external stimuli can be fun, and i myself find skills preferable when i can spend most of my time reading these forums. Doesn't stop cooking from being hilariously boring. Can you have a good time talking to friends or watching a show while you train cooking in Runescape? Training cooking while you do something else is commonplace. The overall experience of training cooking is what must be taken into consideration when deciding whether or not it's fun. That said, I would love some sort of cooking minigame where you have to actively cook various foods in a restaurant or something (gnome delivery doesn't really count because it's awful experience and you can pre-prepare the food). I'm all for making skills fun in of themselves. I wish beacon lighting was good experience, because I would definitely prefer to do that (though I do enjoy playing BA when firemaking normally).
  25. Obtaurian replied to Kietaro1's topic in General Discussion
I'm not arguing that cooking is or isn't fun. I'm arguing that you can't dismiss integral aspects of AFK skills.
