Have you accurately recorded exp/h doing that? On low defense monsters, a whip should outperform a CLS for the same reasons it outperforms godswords.

I'll probably continue to pick up blues, crimsons, and greens after 99 slayer. You never know when a clan or an update will cause unicorns, yaks, or steel titans to become unbuyable. I'll have no use for golds, however.

The rapier is definitely the best weapon for general use. CLS and CM are more niche weapons, IMO. I'm going with the rapier because it's definitely the best weapon for my purposes, which is slayer, safe PVP, and a little boss hunting.

I think it's rather appropriate that combat would yield greater profit than skilling. It's a matter of risk versus reward. I think skilling still has its place, though. I plan on RCing to 96 herblore due to my faulty internet connection.

For slayer, whip + def > CLS + def. But anyway, you should really just choose whatever weapon you like more. They're both going to be extremely effective for both scenarios.

Thanks Ring. Anyone have more specific answers? I'm looking for a comprehensive take on how to maximize my exp gains. Do I do 5:5 the whole way? Duo to 30, then do 5:5 large? I'm not sure. I've heard of 5:3 rushes to floor 29/30.

I'm currently level 50 Dungeoneering with a promethium spear (p++) and promethium platebody bound. 1) What's the currently accepted best way to train Dungeoneering? 2) Is there a guide on what attack styles Dungeoneering monsters are weak to? I really want to get 70 (and 80) for a stream necklace and rapier. Is duoing a decent way to do it? I don't know if I'll have a lot of time to do large dungeons (not that I can at my level).

I actually agree with Bobthesock. There will be tons of mages in maxed gear, but there's also going to be tons of people who just want to piss those mages off. No mage can withstand a barrage of dragon arrows and seercull shots, of which there will be a LOT of. I know I'm going to be doing that. I heard people will prepare for that Seercull is fail when you can restore pot or have on tank mage gear. Dbows... When you manage to get multiple people to spec at the same time maybe. But if not the mage will just heal the damage. The reward WILL go to a mage. No other combat type has the potential for large amounts of kills like magic. I don't think it's going to be that simple.

I think a scoring competition would have been better, but this is the first Jagex event that I'm actually interested in due to the mayhem that will ensue.

And taking away usefull content. What is the definition of usefull content? Content that gets used lol. In a few weeks, if all the rewards are like that, I'm sure this update won't be used. This. Court Cases are like quests that don't need to be completed and offer nothing useful.

Well then here's a survey to see if slayer is right for you and your purposes: 1) Do you enjoy slayer? 2) Do you plan on attaining 99 slayer at some point in the future? If you answered yes to one or both of these questions, then you should [bleep]ING SLAY AND STOP COMPLAINING. You want the combat levels to boss hunt, right? If you just want combat levels and you don't care about gaining slayer experience, seek out other methods of leveling combat. If you want slayer experience, keep slaying. It's really very simple.
