  1. I've been mage slaying recently, so I'll give you a few pointers. - Always use Ahrim's. If you don't have a hexcrest or full slay helm, buy the hood, too, as it has higher defense bonuses than a Farseer helm. - If you don't have an Arcane, use a blessed spirit shield and mage's book. Cheaper alternatives are a spirit shield and unholy book. Use discretion when choosing between the two. BSS for monsters that hit hard and often, mage's book for tasks where you'll take minimal damage, or tasks where the monster is attacking with magic. If you do have an Arcane, sell the other stuff. - The Ardougne cape 3 has a +6 mage attack bonus and a +6 prayer bonus. If you're using slayer dart or surge spells, consider the Ardy cape for tasks you'll be praying at. - Spells worth using are claws of guthix, surge spells, slayer dart, and ice burst/barrage. Use CoG on monsters with high defense, surge spells on most other monsters, slayer dart because it's cheap, and possibly the ancient spells if you're looking to burn through a task like Nechs. Personally, I don't think earth surge and water surge are worth it. - If you don't have a full slayer helm/hexcrest, buy a Zamorak mitre for tasks that require protection prayers. - Dark beasts have a lot of magic defense. I haven't tried slaying them with a hexcrest, so I don't know if it would help significantly. - Spirit mages, too, have high magic defense (for obvious reasons). They're not bad with surge spells using a master wand, however. - A staff of light and void mace should be your weapons of choice. A master wand if you can't get your hands on a SoL. - You should always use a wolpertinger with scrolls on multicombat tasks. Use Guthan's to heal if you can't keep up by other means (I've found that an EE does not keep up). - The absolute best setup to have in terms of both offense and defense would be a full slay helm, arcane spirit shield. staff of light/void mace, ahrim's top and bottom, infinity boots, barrows gloves, fury, god cape, and either an onyx(i) or seers'(i) depending on the task. Good luck. I'll try and update this if I think of anything else.
  2. In the case of the Fight Caves, I disagree with Jagex' definition of a minigame. I would consider it to be more of a miniquest.
  3. Paw_Claw is just angry cause he can't beat Nomad. It's the funnest quest there is, good job. I wont give you a rate, just a .
  4. Dark bow? Really? The only items on that list that I actually use are lunar staffs and crystal bows. Sure, maybe the bows will rise a little in price, which is probably a good thing for me, but I would have really preferred a red lunar staff with gold trim. <_<
  5. Found this post on the RSOF. Made me lol.
  6. Glad to hear that you're enjoying yourself. I'm interested in how the teaching goes.
  7. I've been crashing a few times a day for the past couple weeks. This has NEVER happened to me before. Ever.
  8. What's wrong with what he's saying? His answers are totally wrong when it comes to serious issues like manipulation clans.
  9. I see what you're saying. I would agree to an extent, as the buyer does not have to put an offer in at the flipper's price, but the flipper is essentially making it more difficult for the buyer to get the item at the price that the seller wants by removing the seller's item from the GE.
  10. Completely correct up to the bold, and then completely wrong, for reasons stated previously about 8 times that I can't be bothered to repeat at this point. Despite having read every post in this thread (some multiple times so that I could grasp what was being said), I must have missed that part. Would someone else enlighten me as how a flipper is at all necessary in the transaction between a seller and buyer (in the context of the GE, of course)? I would have to agree with Soma that the flipper is essentially making profit by "stealing" from the buyer, who could have spent less if not for the flipper. This, to me, doesn't seem to be a very ambiguous situation. I'm just not seeing how a flipper is necessary.
  11. Then make the trade, in trade. No one is forcing anyone to use the GE. :P I would do that, except most people who want to sell simply put them in the GE. No one in their right mind would go around looking for someone to buy it, if they could simply leave it in the GE... which puts me into an equally precarious position. In any case, this isn't meant as an accusation so I think I'm done. Either you understand, but don't care because to you, other players are just faceless pixels, you don't understand or don't want to understand, or you understand and are considering changing. I'm going to guess the first option, since that's the trend of the general Runescape community: "I don't give a rat's [wagon] if you think I'm rude." As Aahz once said, "I'm way past mad... I'm thoughtful." I'm not angry. I just feel the need to correct misinformation when I see it, and hopefully, since you sound like you understand now... well, maybe if enough people understand, things could be different some day. I get everything you keep saying except for the part that you view it as stealing. I still don't see how making money off of someones impatience is stealing. If I'm understanding what Soma is saying, it's pretty simple: You're not required to fill the gap between seller and buyer. You're not offering a service, because the item was already in the GE to begin with, so the buyer could have bought the item from the seller, but now has to go through you for no reason AND a higher price.
  12. Very well-written article, and one which I wholly agree with.
  13. Mod Fetzki is an absolute tool. Does no one at Jagex HQ check his responses before they're posted?
  14. What glitch is he using? I watched the video and thought it was pretty odd that he got so much stuff that his opponent was carrying. I assume it's something to do with... just that?
  15. They do. You will ALWAYS get a piece of clothing during one of those events. If the first wave doesn't drop one, just keep waiting for them until one does.
  16. Bump. I'd like to see this collection finished!
  17. I'm about to have an untrimmed HP cape.
  18. Wow. not 99 slayer not worth a thread construction? really? just quit pls.
  19. Glad to hear that you're doing something good for yourself. Good luck.
  20. I, too, would settle for that. It's almost more practical to use a SW cape than a fire cape now.
  21. It still amazes me that some players are still clutching at straws. Like Dragonlordjl said, Runescape is the only game that has players who actually WANT the developers to dumb down the system requirements of their game. No other gaming company does that or has that problem. Maybe this is why players of other MMO's find Runescape to be an absolute joke. In this case, I would definitely agree with them. "Hey man, you play WOW?!" "Yeah, what's up." "So there's this boss monster that gives me about a second to react to his attacks, and all I have to do is click this little symbol. I had to kill this monster to access some high-level content, but now I totally don't have to!!!!!1!" "... WOW BRO I WOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN ABLE TO DO THAT EITHER. BRB GONNA GO RAID FOR TEN HOURS. I PLAY A WARRIOR BTW, LOL"
  22. If they're not willing to play Runescape in a public place, they must not really want that fire cape badly enough. Unless you live in the Amazon rain forest and you've built your computer out of twigs and animals bones, you probably live close enough to a library or café with decent enough internet access to complete the caves.
