I don't understand how that applies to the OP's rant at all. Are you saying that he's outgrown wanting a better smithing update? How in the world does that work? It can't be that he's outgrown the existing smithing update, because for that to be the case the update would have to be useful and there'd have to be something in it to outgrow, which there isn't, so what the hell are you talking about? Also, inb4 you turn this into an efficiency argument for the umpteenth time.

Basic melee setup: Slayer helm Fury Proselyte top Verac's skirt Zerker ring (you need to buy one of these) Whip D defender Barrows gloves Dragon boots Soul wars cape Upgrades you should look into for this setup are bcp and fire cape. Alternative gear that you'll need: Karil's top/bottom Sara sword or ZS (go with sara sword, as you don't have extremes) You should start working towards extremes as soon as possible. Setup assumes that you're using piety, which you should be. I highly recommend that you get a bcp for the time being. otherwise your cashpile is just sitting there doing nothing. you can always sell the bcp back when you're done with it. btw, you should be very wary of any slayer advice you read on these forums. most people have no clue what they're talking about. i wish i had Enaid's slayer setup post saved somewhere. EDIT: You should get into dungeoneering and get rapier. It's a huge improvement over whip. EDIT2: Buy a cannon and use it for dags, spectres, and mutated velds. I'd say use it on other stuff, too, but those are the important ones. You save money by cannoning those tasks.

As a general rule of thumb, slaying for maximum exp/h will almost always break even, if not profit slightly. The majority of your income should be from farming. EDIT: This is assuming you have a yak/93 slayer.
