  1. Whip's only 1.5 times faster, and a heck of a lot less accurate, johny.
  2. Fook-A-Ji, I'm going to tell you everything I know about how your way of arguing is wrong: Jagex...listen to only themselves? The point of the article was that Jagex was messing up by listening to themselves, that their decisions were hurting the game. Put up reasons/evidence to support your claim. Undermine? No. Criticize their actions, yes. You take a very, very narrowminded approach that any criticism of Jagex is blatant libel against them. No. This is a very well thought out and supported criticism that Qeltar wrote. As for the 9/11 reference, it is an ARGUMENT BY ANALOGY THAT COMPARES THE U.S. GOVT'S ACTIONS TO THOSE OF JAGEX BECAUSE THEY BOTH OVERREACT AND HURT THEIR RESPECTIVE CHARGES Simple bias vs. stakers. As you mentioned in your first paragraph, it's a matter of choice whether or not someone wants to stake or "construct, or do smithing". Just because staking is particularly lucrative doesn't mean that Jagex should totally kill of that avenue of moneymaking. So somebody comes into your house, steals everything, and you can't get it back. Should I tell you not to cry about something you can't get back? Stakers deserve to complain, although the ones that simply whine instead of giving good arguments are a bit stupid. It's obviously not a whining post but a good, cohesive argument. Misquoting is a sin in arguments. Ah, here we go. You admit that you "choose to believe what [you] believe". After looking at your posts, this statement seems to mean that you're choosing to be closed-minded.
  3. Nice...but don't add even 1 more gp. From what I've heard (involving a 2 bil vs 2 bil stake), having more than the limit sets the value to zero, deleting all of the item.
  4. Cabin Fever quest gives access to Mos'le Harmless. That island has snakes which drop hides 100%. To above poster: are the hides from the Temple Trekking any different? Do they make a different color armor?
  5. 9/10 Simple, clean leprechaun look; something new.
  6. 9.5/10. Pretty awesome outfit. I would like to give my input on the flaming though: All of you are immature. Abyssal_Whip for being so grudgy, and the Abyssal_Whip-flamers for being vengeful.
  7. ZMI + Lunar Isle Group Tele + Runners.
  8. Wow, I simply love how people treat quitting like it's the most awful thing a person could do. It's a game, people. It can lose its fun. The total time for items to disappear is like 2 min, I think
  9. See the difference between the two browsers' text for tip.it? Is there any way that I could set Firefox to display more like IE7? Thank you. Edit: Also, is there a way to keep the Firefox window from automatically going to maximum size after I close it on its F11 (full screen) size? It's really annoying for me to have to resize the window all the time like that
  10. I really find it funny that people thought you were stereotyping. You were simply taking a caution which the trader could've easily and politely addressed as being unneeded. You are not in the wrong.
  11. Sorry in advance if I sound blunt... Looks like a badly done, very basic anime expression. Badly done as in needing absolutely no skill at all.
  12. I was wondering what's so great about Firefox compared to IE7 (besides the claims of better security). Is it really that great? Should I get it, and if yes, should I uninstall IE? I want good reasons for yes or no, not anti-Mozilla or anti-Microsoft thingies.
  13. Hunter is ok. It fits with its semi-2d neighbors. The agility thing...ugh. Imagine that stupid yeti on the agility skillcape... :-X
  14. N03s!! n0t t3h b0wls!! Make gold bracelets - alch for 300 gp each, take 1 bar for every 1 bracelet.
  15. Sweet, others besides myself care! I too have noticed that quests have been lacking in what I like to call "epic" qualities, like those in the Plague City and DT quests. Those types of quests deal with the actual backstory of RuneScape and are fulfilling. Heck, even stuff like Elemental Workshop, which is easy, is satisfying because I feel like I'm accomplishing something, as opposed to something like Back to My Roots, where I do absolutely nothing but go on an errand for a gardener. I can appreciate some of the lighter quests, but there have been far too many recently (I personally think that the Goblin series is epic). Those little quests are fine and fun at times, but they really outnumber the epic ones.
  16. While I don't have much of an argument, I would like to point out that this "decline" is oversimplified. Things like skills do not necessarily have to become "easier and easier". They could be expanded and developed in different level ranges, but don't need to be easier. Pking...I'm pretty sure that the Edgeville pking that everybody is freaking out about isn't representative of PvP as a whole. Heck, half of it is like made-up "honor" rules. As for maturity: immature people may come in, but that doesn't mean that mature ones go out. I cannot say what the concentrations of each are, but I can say that pessimism about how immaturity is growing and crud won't give you an accurate view of the community as a whole.
  17. You know what I think? I think they're simply expanding their company, not diverting RuneScape resources into MechScape. Simple as that.
  18. Yes we're helpful. However, it's hard to do much with such a vague question like yours, especially considering how many different guards there are in that quest to get past.
  19. ^ Ok, but that last post was a bit...concise so I didn't exactly see your point. Actually, you're right too in the sense that many are just plain annoying and stupid. Sorry if it wasn't clear, but what I was trying to convey through my rambling was that TOO MANY are put into that "noob" category. Some of them are ok players; I have salvaged a few from noobish begging states and stuff. As for the part about vets not setting examples: I'm addressing more of a per-individual attitude, which many people happened to have adopted as their own. People just don't seem to treat people like people because they just use their anonymity to coldly blow off players by labeling them "noob". It's that noob-hater indifferent and rude attitude that I'm concerned about, as nobody seems to care too much about it. It's all the difference between arguing with an angry person and asking the guy, "What's wrong?" P.S. Am I rambling?
  20. ^ People, read my post before you say something completely unrelated.
  21. Some of you seem to be going off topic. Way off topic.
  22. This isn't going to be like a refined, neatly written argument type thing, but it should serve for some discussion. Definitions: noob - annoying, stupid player. Possibly belligerent and unwilling to listen. non-noob - everybody else I always hear comments about how noobs are the cause of stuff like an immature community, stupidity in RS, annoyance, etc. Fair enough; I guess some of them really do cause that kind of thing. However, I see a small problem in this view itself: it is far too quick to lay blame on a group of people labled "noobs" (which is an ambiguous term anyways), and doesn't take into account the actions of non-noobs that cause problems as well. One of two general problems that I see is that many non-noobs really just generalize far too much. There is a problem with people labeling annoying and stupid-acting players "noobs" because the players cannot be treated as people; he is percieved as a worthless, scummy noob who cannot be bothered with. This very perception, the generalizing, appears to be the source of rediculous and unforgiving unkindness towards anybody who does not follow some kind of an ideal. It's just rediculous how some can be so harsh and rude to "noobs". Seriously, it's like how people in real life stereotype by clothing, skin, appearance, etc. and shun them. Oh gee, I wonder why there are school shootings. People are so freaking bitter in RuneScape sometimes, and I'm really not surprised given how some people act towards others. The other problem is that people really don't take into account their own actions. Have you ever heard "Love thy neighbor as yourself"? There was a kid in Catherby begging, and I advised him to not beg as it would only earn him hate, and he flipped at me...so I asked what was wrong. He had been scammed off a beret, so I gave him some money which made him happy. Did I yell back at him? No, but imagine how different things could've been if I didn't care what my actions were. I understand that nobody really likes annoying behavior, but it's so stupid how people simply brush others off as noobs. As an alternative, they could simply be ignored. Hopefully this is coherent. As a side note: we're too quick to flame here too, if you haven't noticed.
  23. Some high-lvls had been complaining of the game being far too easy, risk-free, noob-catering, etc. Guess what though? Those "noobs" now have more opportunity to get items back in a ever-so-slightly more forgiving death situation, and high lvls in dangerous places now have more fun, exhilarating danger to face. That's my take on it. It helps both low lvls who might need a more-forgiving system of death, and high lvls who need more fun out of the game.
  24. Another cut-and-paste maturity is going down, blah blah topic -.- Dude, I see no reason why holiday items would mean that Jagex is losing its humor or its "maturity" (very vaguely defined in your thesis). Holiday items are simply fun little trinkets made for people to enjoy. If you can't enjoy them just for the sake of enjoying them, then I would have to say that YOU, sir are lacking humor.
  25. Names like that make me cynically reflect upon how some people are more animal than human.
