  1. Oh, it was somewhere on the eastern side of Russia. From that point, it could reach United States soil in 13 minutes from launch. But how would sattelites be able to see preparation if it's underground? Well, the boost phase takes a minimum of 4 minutes, and in that phase, the rocket would be painfully obvious to any sort of heat apparatus in a satellite. The next phase will take a minimum of 20 minutes, wherein the ICBM travels to nearly low orbit (many models actually travel into orbit). This is where it is very vulnerable to anything, even a fighter could destroy it with a well-placed missile to its propulsion system. This is where a very modern (produced after 2000) ICBM would lanch its warheads, theoretically. However, many of Russia's warheads and ICBMs are not so modern, and would have to lower their altitude quite a bit before launching the warheads and falling wherever. So yes, probably not a few hours, but plenty of time for something to shoot it down. NATO eyes are placed on hotspots around the world; every place that has a possibility to send a nuclear strike is certainly being watched. The most dangerous thing for the world would be a nuclear submarine in the wrong hands, as they can launch within minutes and the warhead could detonate within minutes as well.
  2. You disregard one of the most-read texts in the history of literature due to it not being cool enough for you? I once respected you as a debatist. :| What? You totally didn't read my post for what it was... And what was it? Because it seems like you're bashing something for no reason, something you've been doing a good bit of recently.

  4. The russian military doesn't have AK47's in wide circulation anymore.. (Nor do they have those tall, funny-looking hats, if any stereotype-searcher was wondering) They've been long replaced by AK74 and AK101 (which uses 5.56 NATO cartridges) and Kord 12.7mm heavy machine guns which have significantly more power than the american equivalents of M60/M249 Really, some people still think we're in the cold war era and russians have big uniforms and old kalashnikovs. The world changes, get information accordingly (not directed to you but some other people here) Russia also has a significantly bigger stockpile of nuclear weapons compared to any other country, not very likely they'll see usage though. Well, I wasn't sure of what ak model they were using now, but I just took the more widely known 47. Either way, ak's are still more reliable then the m16. I can't remember what HMG the US uses though. Very few heavy machine guns are used in our military (troop to troop basis), but the light machine guns that are our equivalent to the Kord are the M60 and M249 for the most part. I laugh at you. Ha! Russia would never be that stupid. If they launched their nukes, it means absoltute annihilation for both sides, also known as Mutually Assured Destruction. Nukes are an absolute last resort. Oh btyw, we already have technology to disable I.C.B.M.'s mid-flight Yep, because that would help, right? Radiation would kill us. Russia's leaders are not that dumb. And no, the radiation would not kill us. The majority of Russia's - and our own - nuclear devices are out of date and would only irradiate a miniscule area, if they could even get far enough to hit us. The height an ICBM has to reach isn't too far from low orbit - plenty safe for any of our defenses to destroy the missile mid-flight. Not to mention the warhead might not even be detonated, the missile is all that has to be destroyed, leaving the warhead (which will probably have a huge, heavy, near-indestructible-by-conventional-means-casing) to fall into the ocean harmlessly. Also, most of Russia's well-known bases with capability to launch a nuclear warhead are surely being watched 24/7 via satellite. The trajectory and time to destruction would be calculated in (nano)seconds by a military supercomputer, giving people a few hours to evacuate - that is, if the missile is even going to reach a population center.
  5. You are right that the majority of the Bible is not to be taken literally, though. On another note, I wonder why God didn't have a daughter as well. Every daddy loves a daughter.
  6. I had to do it in fourth grade. [bleep]ing hate cups now.
  7. Because this is just as important. Ah well. Good for the world.
  8. Most AC players would hang you for that statement... except they're far too nice for that. :P The Mii masks looks horrible, IMHO. :? Yeah, I guess that's true. I just thought it was neat. Do any of you like to get stung by bees on purpose? Great fun.
  9. You're a terrible liar. And yeah, that was probably my biggest problem with Fable. Short storyline, then nothing worth doing after that. This looks similarly sandboxish, but with actual things to do. Shovels to build sandcastles and the like.
  10. Bring super energies after your first trip, too. Or, even better, get 52 summoning for a spirit terrorbird.
  11. FABLE II IS COMING OUT IN OCTOBER?!? CRAP I NEED MONEY. AND FINGERS TO TURN OFF CAPS LOCK. Seriously though, that looks awesome. I can already imagine my guy with a badass rifle and rapier or something. Fighting crime. Kicking chickens. Awesome. Graphics look like a cross between Oblivion and Fable, too. Can't resist Fable's charm and swords and guns and magic. Hope it doesn't have a somewhat short quest thingy and then just boringness, though I doubt that will happen.
  12. I just thought of something. If we're all computer programs I swear to God I'm gonna go join Neo and Morpheus. [bleep] you, machines!
  13. Well, you could always be witty and say "I think there's a snake on this plane!"
  14. Yeah, I dunno how to rate it either. I do know I dislike that game at this time. Everyone always swarms on one team. I had to play 1 on 5 earlier. (And I still got close to beating them :!: ) Meh, at least it didn't make runecrafting tons easier. Guess I can give you 1400 points. You may exchange them on Saturn.
  15. Kick his [wagon] on the street. Erm, next time I mean. Obviously not too grand of a friend or person.
  16. Hardly ever. I can make myself cry, though. When something gets in my eye or if I get hurt bad enough.

Well, you have to admit that a good number of the girls on the gymnastics team for China do not look anywhere near 16.
  18. Hope he doesn't want to make you join the Mile High Club's sister organization - Mile High with AIDs Club.
  19. I lol'd Just as I lol'd at your inability to argue. Really? It made me laugh on the outside, but I was crying on the inside.
  20. If i was stranded on a deserted island beach, i would bring these 3 items along: Volleyball, raft, Madonna's "Like a Virgin" album. If i was going on an airplane trip, i would bring these 3 items along: Volleyball, raft, Madonna's "Like a Virgin" album.
  21. The tsar bomba was only the biggest ever detonated, and russia's military is fairly ill equipped. Nukes are out of the question, launching one would destroy both countries, as the rest would be launched in retaliation. There army is equipped with cold war era stuff, and their air force is mostly migs. America outclasses them in almost all ways. I look at one page for a bomb and end up spending an hour looking at wikipedia pages -.- It's evil I tell ya. 1.4% power output of the sun...I didn't even think we were close to something like that No, we weren't. That was only half the power, too. But the only true Tsar Bomba known to the world to exist (considering the KGB detonated it, of course there are more somewhere) was detonated there. Plus, if they tried to nuke America, we would not only retaliate, but the world would retaliate. All that radiation and nuclear dust would reach Russia within a few days. Also, Russia's military is coming into more modern era equipment relatively rapidly. Vehicles are still Cold War-era, but you have to remember much of their equipment during the Cold War was the best of the time. Even today, a few MiGs with Russian pilots (who have reputations of being badasses) could do some real damage. But, I'm sure every nation in the planet would know the consequences of two superpowers with some of the largest militaries waging war across the world. Canada would fall first. :twss:
  22. I know that much, but that's really the extent of my knowledge.
  23. Serephurus, no offense intended, but that doesn't exactly sound like a religion. Sounds like a good thing, but more like what the world could be like, were it not for hate, instead of a singular religion to any God/gods.
  24. That looks to be the best. Sport. Ever.
  25. Those with armies worth their salt. I bet if you were floating on a raft with your buddy, a volleyball, and saw a carrier ship, they'd be running drills as well.
