  1. Yes, that is what religion is used to do. That's a pretty well-known thing.
  2. God, I've thought of that, and the idea depressed me to no end. That would suuuuuuuuuuuck.
  3. Thanks, they look pretty good. They're right on the Adidas site, too.
  4. Unless you're playing Michael Quest 2, as CE clearly pointed out.
  5. ...That's hot.
  6. I sleep the same as you. If I fall asleep on my back, my back and neck will hurt all the next day. Or I sleep in my suspended rope basket.
  7. Okay. I bet they'll listen to me. Especially if I post a picture of Putin on the Ritz. No is like love! More powerful than everything else! Yeah!
  8. We've always had ships over there. In case you don't know, Iran is right next to Iraq and near Afghanistan. Gasp. We have ships all over the world, and of course they're set to blockade whoever, just in case the order comes down. That's how they do it.
  9. Little tip: You don't need to do In Search of the Myreque to use the boaty, there's a path southeast through the swamp to it.
  10. The cookies.
  11. Dark's right, it's ungodly easy to kill your own choppers. You never even see they're yours until they can shoot you or you've shot them. That's why I fire a bullet from my weakest weapon first, then uberpwn them.
  12. If One Piece and Fooly Cooly count, then those.
  13. I suppose you could have followed the advert. I doubt you'll find much information here of all places though, I'm afraid.
  14. 650 points, out of 1,000. Not very difficult to be honest, but a very good level. Even though I see 75 as being more exciting.
  15. You can safely view a small tornado from half a mile away. Well, by our definition of safe. Keep the vehicle running and away from trees if there's lightning, and you're good to go. Very few tornadoes can even stay on the ground for a mile. I'm sure you'd love them.
  16. Don't take a French anchor though. She's probably nude.
  17. Everything. Seriously, I can make myself mad at a little girl with a lollipop and a jump rope. For not tripping and falling on her face. To amuse me.
  18. I loved Fable's gambling in the original, especially coin golf. Is this little pack gonna cost money? If it does, I hope it isn't much. I want it. By the way, when does Fable 2 come out? O Fable 2, Where Art Thou.
  19. Wasn't he a complicated man, no one could hope to understand but his woman?
  20. Your setups look good and whatnot, but for speed runs I found that if I simply just did one chest per run, I was actually able to fit at least one more run in per hour. My fastest run was a little under eight minutes when I was doing some speed runs, and my slowest as a little under ten. Other people have answered the other questions.
  21. That's the northeast. Also, quite a metaphor there.
  22. You're right. He's next. CRAP. NO SNAKES ON A PLANE 2. I don't know who that is, but people need to stop dying. Seriously. Its like an entire generation of celebrities (well, mainly comedians) just decided to die.
  23. That's absolutely ridiculous. True, but stuff like this makes afternoon walks ll the more fun for me. Or when there's a noise from the bathroom and I rush in and slash the shower curtain.
  24. Five Sicilian families once controlled the entirety of New York City - legal and illegal. It is 1945. Will you assist your Don, helping your Cosa Nostra rise through the ranks of New York's hierarchy? Or will you fight against this organized crime that is a blemish on the once-proud city of New York? The choice is yours. [Note]The Godfather[/u], the novel by Mario Puzo, and the film of the same name. Familes, territories, and the like.] The Five Families are those with seats on the infamous Commission, where the Cosa Nostra Dons sit to decide the fate of New York City, ranked in orders of relative power: The Corleones (head by Don Vito Corleone), the Barzinis (head by Don Emilio Barzini) the Straccis (head by Don Anthony Stracci), the Cuneos (head by Don Ottilio Cuneo), and the Tattaglias (head by Bruno Tattaglia). The local NYPD is also a force to be reckoned with, as control of the police will make or break your Family's hold on the city. You will choose one faction to side with, or you will choose none at all, perhaps starting your own, or merely trying to live a live of peace and quiet. My character: Character name: (Toughie) Age: (Simple) Faction: (Easy) Description: (Looks and such) Biography: (Not required, but helpful) [hide=Stats.][/hide] These stats control the life of someone living in these times: Health: How much of a beating you can take before passing out and being taken to the hospital. Strength: How hard you hit in hand-to-hand combat. Firearms: Accuracy, reload time, and general know-how of a firearm. Driving skill: Believe it or not, in the 1940s good driving was something to be admired. Explosives skill: If you're in any of the Families, some day your own Godfather may call on you to bomb a business of an enemy. Be prepared. Intellect: The brighter you are, the more likely for you to climb up the ranks instead of staying as lowly hired muscle. Persuasiveness/Intimidation: If you're a mobster, intimidation will allow you to demand protection money from a storefront without any blood being spilled. Persuasiveness will also help you keep those higher-up politicians on your Family's side. Management: How well you manage the rackets and businesses your family owns. The more you take control of, the more your Don will allow you to help manage. If you begin in one of the families, you will begin as an Associate, and will climb ranks as your Don (Basically, I'll tell you when you've done enough to raise rank) dictates. Perhaps one day you may overwhelm even the other Families, becoming the Godfather of New York City. [Note] [Note on skills: When you begin your character, all skills will be as posted. However, you are allowed to change them - subtract or add to some. Also, you will be given five skill points to distribute as you please at the beginning and every level up. [Extra note: Health points go by fives. Ex: you wish to level up your health with two skill points. It goes up by ten.]] A Corleone Associate typically uses his persuasiveness, intimidation, and intellect to his advantage, thus why they are usually only middling fighters. If you choose this family, you will begin in Little Italy, which is the center of Corleone operations and the south portion of Manhattan. Health: 200 Strength: 15 Firearms: 10 Driving skill: 3 Explosives skill: 1 Intellect: 3 Persuasiveness/Intimidation: 3 Management: 2 Five skill points left to distribute. Barzini's Associates use equal mixtures of brute force and intimidation, however they are weak with firearms, explosives, and driving. You will begin in Midtown, the ritzy northeastern end of the city. Health: 185 Strength: 18 Firearms: 7 Driving skill: 1 Explosives skill: 1 Intellect: 2 Persuasiveness/Intimidation: 5 Management: 2 Five skill points left to distribute. Stracci Associates are the atypical smart guys. They're terrible fighters, but they have the brains to sneak around you and plant a bomb on your back. They call New Jersey home. Health: 150 Strength: 5 Firearms: 5 Driving skill: 8 Explosives skill: 5 Intellect: 7 Persuasiveness/Intimidation: 5 Management: 3 Five skill points left to distribute. The Cuneo Associate uses his fists and his gun to demand his money, which he hardly knows what to do with. They control the roughest part of the city; the western and northwestern slums and construction sites. Health: 220 Strength: 18 Firearms: 12 Driving skill: 1 Explosives skill: 1 Intellect: 1 Persuasiveness/Intimidation: 2 Management: 1 Five skill points left to distribute. The Tattaglias are the weakest of the families, as their Don is greedy and unintelligent. However, they make up for physical and intellectual weakness with a knowledge of firearms and explosives unrivaled. They control the borough of Brooklyn. Health: 190 Strength: 12 Firearms: 15 Driving skill: 2 Explosives skill: 5 Intellect: 1 Persuasiveness/Intimidation: 2 Management: 2 Five skill points left to distribute. If you begin as a policeman/woman, you will of course start as a lowly Police Officer. Perhaps you will offer to look the other way for a few months on one family for a few thousand dollars? Or maybe you'll refuse a bribe and try to bring them to justice. The typical police officer will start out with these stats, and may begin in any local police department in the city or New Jersey: Health: 210 Strength: 15 Firearms: 13 Driving skill: 4 Explosives skill: 0 Intellect: 2 Persuasiveness/Intimidation: 2 Management: 0 Five skill points left to distribute. A civilian will have next to know knowledge of fighting or weapons, but will maintain effective control over their finances with their minds. They also may start anywhere on the map. Health: 160 Strength: 10 Firearms: 3 Driving skill: 10 Explosives skill: 0 Intellect: 10 Persuasiveness/Intimidation: 4 Management: 8 Five skill points left to distribute. Here is a good map of the areas; yes it is from a videogame, but it suits our purposes rather well I believe. Just have to ignore how few streets there are and all the little symbols. Warning: Big. Also, Little Italy is under control of the Corleones. The map is a liar. [hide=Map.][/hide] The basic character creation sheet is this: Character name: (Toughie) Age: (Simple) Faction: (Easy) Description: (Looks and such) Biography: (Not required, but helpful) [hide=Stats][Copy and paste your stats here from whatever group you choose, as well as whatever changes you wish to make. Don't forget to use your five free skill points![/hide] I believe that is all. I will play to be the boss of whatever group you choose and give you missions you may choose to complete right away or when you feel you have time. Combat system: Not very complicated. It is turn-based, using the D6 Dice, which can be found here. One D6 is used in melee combat, and you add your strength bonus (your level) and weapon bonus onto the modifier to tell how much damage you've done. With firearms, you use two D20 dice, and add your skill and weapon bonus onto that. Explosives will kill any person in a certain area, based on what sort of explosive. If your enemy is your level, expect them to have exactly half of your stats. At firearm level 9 and below, you may only use pistols. At level ten, you may use shotguns. At fifteen, machine guns (or Tommy guns). At 20, you may shoot from a vehicle, as well as using sniper rifles. At Explosives level 1, you may only make molotov cocktails, which will not kill anyone, merely burn them severely (for two-thirds health). At level three you may start making and using dynamite; a stick will kill anyone in a room, five will demolish a building. At level five you may make and use time bombs, which will utterly destroy any building on a fuse. [Note] I believe that covers everything; ask if you need to know anything else. My character: Character name: Leto Oticelli Age: 26 Faction: Corleone Description: Tall, muscular, black hair, and freakishly light-colored eyes that give him an edge in intimidating people. Always wears his signature black fedora. Biography: Like many Cosa Nostra associates, a member of his family was killed by a rival family. In Leto's case, his father was thrown off a bridge by Bruno Tattaglia after refusing to make protection payments. Fueled by a desire for revenge, Leto became an errand boy for the Corleones at age 11. He'd already shot and killed a man by age 12. By age 16, he'd become a fully-fledged associate, using both his intelligence and force to get what he wanted. He has vowed to someday kill Bruno Tattaglia himself. [hide=Stats]Health: 190 Strength: 16 Firearms: 15 Driving skill: 1 Explosives skill: 0 Intellect: 5 Persuasiveness/Intimidation: 4 Management: 3[/hide] So, I'll start up a rousing story when some others make characters! (Forbidden smiley-face) Also, please keep gore to a minimum. As with this sort of thing, there will obviously be violence, but no OMGWTFHISHEADGOBOOMSPLAT please. Although I'd be surprised if someone in the Library typed anything like that.
  25. I just wanted to post and say I don't believe I'll write anything up. I'm hardly active in the Library anymore, with school and all, so I believe there are those more worthy.
