  1. Seems like a good plan and even though I'm one of those noobs who sit and watch friends fight and gain EP I feel it'd be more productive if they made me do something for EP.
  2. I'll agree that my idea may not be the perfect solution, but I hope it can move us in the right direction. I don't want to start another thread of "it's wrong! no it's not! yes it is! no it's not!" This circular argument gets us nowhere. There are people out there who have legitimate concerns about price manipulation, and have legitimate reasons why it should stop. The sooner we can find common ground, the better. Yup thats basically what I ment you just made it extremely wordy. I have a feeling any changes are going to flare tempers and may cause riots, but yes, Jagex needs to speak up either way. I ment that there would have to be a riot before Jagex would even consider making an official announcement about it. Old-school World 2, Falador Park anyone? Yes but back then to even get into the log in screen for world 2 you had to refresh the page until it updated and showed as not FULL. Now you can click even if it is full and just spam click log-in until you get it. It was easier to get into w2 Fally park to get a good deal back then and most people had a forum post and were in Fally park at the same time and would hop to close the deal. Now people are addicted to the GE and would do anything to sell their items especially if they only seel for over min or at max. So no it would be nothing like Fally Park was because people would log into those lag filled worlds to use the ge and maybe do some trading via the trade window. But players already do that in world 2 now. The difference is manipulators have to come out of the shadows in order to do this. Before the GE, anybody trying to price manipulate or scam through the forums were locked, deleted, or even action taken against the guilty parties. And that's if the mods could get to the forum before the flamers would eat them up and call them out. You can't put a plate of cookies in front of the fat kid, and tell him not to eat any. If the fat kid thinks he can get away with it, he'll eat a cookie. A poster on another thread said, "hate the game, not the player." Although the poster was just showing his [wagon], there is some truth to this. Simply banning players is a finger-in-the-dike solution. Without changing the system, there will always be more players cropping up. Look at autoers. Jagex has had very strict rules against macro programs for years, yet players are still willing to risk it all and try it. No, the system has to change, and instead of more regulations, I feel we could turn the market against price manipulators by creating more competition against not only them, but the GE as well. As I said in my part of the post you quoted and at the end of my post, it totally get rid of price manipulation but when you get rid of the main players you cause unstability and make some clans fail along with making the honest players as you said quit doing it.
  3. Gosh I miss those days
  4. Price manipulation is legal but it's not within the spirit of the game just like 26king. Your on the right track here but I don't think you have the right solutions yet. I feel this thread was needed because the other manipulation thread was 35 pages of arguments mixed with good ideas which got little to no response. 1. The official statement Good idea it has to be done and the longer they delay it the more damage that wull be done to the economy. I have a feeling something like a riot is the only way to get their attention about something like this. But riots are bad and you should never do them ;) 2. GE only worlds Bad idea it would me massive lag and spam even with all worlds with the GE open it is still laggy and spammy. It a good idea but what will become of it is players flooding the server with login requests to get on to sell their items and people who can't get in selling their items for less than they are worth or not being able to sell them at all. The bad outweighs the good in this case so I say scratch this idea. 3. Bank Wire Transactions Good idea would increase player trading overall but manipulators can post on forums too and have all the sellers sell to them before someone not maniplating gets to them first. Decent idea with some draw backs. I agree overall though there needs to be changes and it's not more or less limits it's getting people to use that dang trade window that Jagex worked on so we didn't get scammed by item switching and such. It will be hard to stop manipulation but it's something I'm sure the players and Jagex can stop together if they put their minds to it. But right now it doesn't seem like a problem to them especially after no more talk about fixing it by any Jagex mod. All in all good thread was a nice read and realy puts it something out there for us to come up with ideas. The only sure fire way to atleast slow manipulation is going to have to be banhammering the big guys such as chessy and smokin mils. This will create fear in the tag alongs and make them worry if they will be banned if they continue. From then on it will switch to IRC or ingame clan chats that are for select members only and this is were Jagex's logs of GE trades comes into play. From then on it will require real humans(I know a shocker Jagex!) to study buying and selling trends of suspected price manipulators. I'm sure there are other ideas that could work in coalition with my idea. If I'm late replying to anything I'm just busy in pvp and will reply when I can. *Bookmarks this thread*
  5. So me and Deviledegg24 went on a major tricking and EP farming spree the first day of Pvp and we'd do tests and try to figure out the whole EP system. Sadly we couldn't find out why our ep would sometimes go up 25% or 10% after we tricked. Then he had a vacation to go to which left me alone to test it. Finally after 5 days I have figured it out. This may be a bit tough to understand so bear with me. When you reach the max EP(100%) the game acts like always and starts a new timer until the next EP update, but the game won't register your EP as going up but the system timer will still count down. I spent 28 minutes in a hotzone after 100% EP to see if I could spring right up to 25% after I tricked. But when the system hit the 30 minute update period I went up 3%. This has happened various times to me with different rises in EP which correspond which the time I spent in the hotzone afetr 100% and the time I spent after I tricked and was at 0%. So basically.....spending time in a hotzone after 100% is a waste of your time and you should either trick at 75% or trick right after 100% because you won't be rewarded for the time you spend in a hotzone after 100%. I'm sure Deviledegg will be happy I figured it out we at first though it was an issue with negative EP :-# EDIT: No offence but I think the first post should be reworked some information is off and wrong. I'll try to rework it for you and send you it and see how you like it.
  6. Ely will be a bit more maybe around 170-180 just because it doesn't use the prayer divine does. As for spectral maybe a bit higher because the hardcore castle war scorers would pay 35-40M for it. Otherwise ya they will be around there.
  7. I have noticed that the arcanes hit a price where the major Pvp ancient teams are willing to spend for them so there was an increase in demand which the merchants took a hold of and made a buy out. It can't last for long they are too expensive and there are too many to buy out. But they have been bought out of nearly bought out for a few days now. I still suggest not to get involved.
  8. Seems like a good update and I'm kind of wondering what the familiars won't interupt now hop it's banking.
  9. Thanks and ya they slowed down lately though :( Well lately I've been using up my brawlers and tricking every so often with friends nothing as serious as before. They got me some nice levels: D Imp ability : Maxed thing to do in Agility and 1/4 to 99  Also used 2 smithing brawlers which got me to 14.9M xp and rank 326 : Now if your wondering about future plans for this summer....If I get two FM brawlers and get 92 FM I will stop Pvp and get back to slayer. Which will be for 99 in both summoning and slayer. Getting kind of bored of Pvp so kind of excited to get back to slaying noob monsters :)
  10. Parteh! \ \ \ O ya and gratz on 70 arrow throwing and stuff.
  11. There will always be people who love money, and I don't care if you hate them or whatever, you still don't have a right to criticise them. Merchanting isn't a freaking illegal activity!!!!!!!!! No, I'm not defending merchants, nor am I a merchant myself. Merchanting is basically buy low sell high. So if you buy two hundred pieces of land for $1000 each, and sell them for $1200 each, you ARE merchanting, so that's illegal? What the [bleep]? If so, many legitimate businessmen will be in jail for doing NOTHING wrong. He was talking about groups of people who cut off all supply on the item by hoarding it and causing it to rise unnaturally, not real merchanting. Loved the historical article as always. Good job on the articles this week guys :
  12. Oh a hawt blogeh I better post on it. Gl Kevill *invites self to maxed total party* I'm sure you'll get it :)
  13. It's been patched guys don't worry now go back to d spearing :
  14. EP realy doesn't matter I've had a DFS at 14% and a zaros statue at 35%. Althought at 100% your first kill will tend to be just and get better and peak around 35% before they start to go down. For me atleast it seems like the drops are the same I get ~3m/trick and if I win the dds dm's with targets I make 2-3m/hr. Just a side note though....don't do nettles if you get offered it is bug abuse and may be bannable.
  15. Mainly runecrafting but GWD, slayer, and the daily activities realy help. Now though? Merchanting and pvp.
  16. If they ask nicley they can have it as long as a friend doesn't want it or I am not using it. :
  17. Old RS ftw [hide=Some old pictures] [/hide]
  18. Any resemblance here? Maybe they are finally releasing that high level barbarian agility course they leaked ages ago.
  19. Agility and firemaking would definitely be the most expensive maybe around 3-5M. Melee and range would probably not even sell for the 100K.
  20. Been going around popularly for awhile now didn't manage to die to it yet but was close a few times. Jagex knows about it if you are wondering about that. I was promised bannings will occur for serious abusers so just watch out, don't sit in deep wild, and bring a tele.
  21. So I got a target after a lame target drop of 2 prayer brawlers which I alched 8-). So I just finish up my hunter brawlers whe I get him and we nettle. Well epic drop this'll get 83 hunter and 85 agility gosh I'll max and make 2m/hr at this pace   Gotta love using agil/hunter in one day and getting another set of both in the same day in the same drop
  22. I thought it was quite funny :D
