  1. Even better. Closing the topic.
  2. You may PM @Racheya or @das with Guest Articles while Mirrorforced is away. :) DK
  3. Thanks, all these things should be appearing now DK
  4. As long as that is Jagex's stance on the matter, Omali, that is my stance on the matter. Don't necessarily agree with it, but I'm also not really opposed with it either.
  5. I must say the new quest was pretty good. I really like this new story line and I hope the next quests and activity are just as good as this one was. I found the music track 'Mindful' really added a lot to the effects of being within somebody's mind. Nice work audio team.
  6. PMods are not required to deal with anything they do not wish to, especially if one of the offenders knows the Pmod well. For all you know he may have reported the other two to let Jagex handle it, so people wouldn't identify him as the muter. Regardless, if you already reported the other two offenders, I wouldn't worry about it. Jagex will still deal with them, albeit a little slower than if the mod had dealt with it.
  7. No. Somebodys' side project who no longer has any time to put into it. May not be around too much longer.
  8. Please report any advertisements you think are offensive to the link provided under each advertisement. When possible, the advert admin will take a look at it. Thank you for your continued cooperation in this matter and support in making our advertisement system the best it can be.
  9. Want to explain exactly what's bad about this? I've seen lots of people complain about this but no one has provided a reason what's wrong with it. You let Jagex dictate site decisions in return for concept art. There you go. We changed an advertising structure that was desperately in need of attention for some small benefits, such as not being filtered ingame. No other decisions were made because of something Jagex said. As tripsis said, this barely affects anyone at all, unless you regularly enjoyed viewing our competitor ads that came into rotation every blue moon. I'm not sure what else I can say to people who continue to ignore the facts and draw their own conclusions about what really happened. Tripsis and I have both posted tons of information on the specifics of this already - theres' really nothing more to do than start repeating myself over and over again.
  10. Again I stress any apparent change in moderating style has to do more so with the change of staff over the years and has absolutely nothing to do with this platinum level. Even before Jagex reached out to fansites, we had the same policies in place (such as not leaving leaked inbox messages on the forums). If you do have any complains about specific rules or past moderation actions, I do urge you to get in touch with an administrator and seeing if they can help you.
  11. This has nothing to do with Tip.It's platinum status. Jagex doesn't write our rules, Jagex doesn't enforce our rules, Jagex doesn't tell us how to enforce our rules. I'm guessing it has more to do with differing opinions on what is a 'joke' and what is inappropriate.
  12. Sure it is, because that is probably the only valid concern that should be coming from this - is Tip.It losing anything by removing competitor ads? The answer is no. We are not going out of our way at all to please Jagex. I just finished clarifying how it was something we meant to do anyways, and so we get a few perks as well for doing it. Great. Yeah, we're not filtered in-game and we get free advertising on the RSoF. That beats the hell out of the possible alternative - being filtered in-game, doesn't it? We're not going out of our way to please Jagex in any way, shape or form. I have no idea how to make this any clearer.
  13. Spot on, brown nose your way to the top! I don't think either of you understand what we actually changed and the reasons for changing our advertising services. First of all, as Danq mentioned, the advertising changes implemented did not affect our revenue and we continue to get virtually the same amount of revenue as we did before we made the change. Secondly, we have always had problems with GoogleAds. They have a limited amount of bans you can put in place, and after that we simply had to delete old entries to make room for new ones. This was quickly becoming problematic. Jagex's policy of not having competitor ads in order to reach the platinum rank simply gave us a little bit of an incentive to finally do something about it. So basically, for fixing something we've been meaning to change for ages, we're now listed as a platinum support site. How some people consider this brown-nosing, I will never know. I don't even think the ad platform change really affected anyone who uses our site either. Never understood what the big uproar about this is and I never will.
  14. Hey, our guide is now live and I believe our authors used bits of your content. Thanks for contributing. DK
  15. Ooh, interesting. What's the best tracking website around? I'd recommend RuneScript's tracker - http://runetracker.org/. The bot will begin to track you after you first use the !track command on their IRC RuneScape Stats Bot or lookup a name on the tracker.
  16. In my opinion, additional text for these little things would make the guide even longer, which wouldn't be something I'd aim for. I just recently added simplified instructions to the EW III guide, instead of refering to EW II. Maybe this will help with that. I'll look into cutting down some of the text in the EW II guide, instead. Thanks for your submission, however! :) DK
  17. Hey there, We have now provided a solution within our guide and if a user is to follow our coordinates they will get it done. If people wish to complete the quest with alternate methods such as the one you've posted, this is fine as well. I think it is only worth adding one solution though and not multiple aways of doing it. Thanks for understanding. DK
  18. Thank you I've added a note to this entry. DK
  19. Alright we'll double-check our values on this.
  20. The problem with JPEG is that it's a lossy format, so it doesn't hold up well to multiple edits. Yup, please do not use JPG as it distorts the image. Continue using loss-less formats like PNG.
  21. Hi there, I feel the current instructions in the guide are sufficient, simply because there are thousands of ways to do each puzzle and listing each individual method people have of solving puzzles would be impractical. Thanks for your submission, however, and welcome to Tip.It! DK
  22. We decided at the start we would not include the quest completion scrolls on our quest guides. This is simply because all the data on it is already located in the Rewards section of the guides. This then allows us to add more helpful images and keep the filesize down as much as we can. There are no actual technical restrictions and we can display 4 megabyte images on the site if we really wanted to. We simply choose to keep the filesizes of all images combined down as low as possible to accommodate for those on much slower connections. We were a lot more adamant on this years ago, but since then tons of people now have broadband access and only a minority are still on dial-up/AOL, etc. We are much more lenient than we were back in the day. I am all for adding images and maps that are helpful to users, even if they are larger than usual, but if they are purely for vanity we prefer to not include them to save room for more important images. Although for short quest guides, I will often add some vanity images just to break up the text a little. I will add Nyosuht's crunched image, but not the other two as I don't see a huge need for them. If you are looking for ways to help the Crew out in this area, there are many unconfirmed corrections in this forum we would love your help with and that require picture confirmation so we can get them added. There is an index stickied in this forum for easy access to quests you can help with. I'll leave this open if you have any additional questions and for Nyo to get back to you. Thanks for understanding. DK
  23. I'm just talking about the labels you claim are missing. Any icons with labels have a slight glow around them directly on the map itself - if there is no slight glow around the icon, this means it isn't linked and has no label. I do understand what you mean about the transportation features though - those aren't implemented now, as you know. Hope that makes more sense.
