  1. Usually people won't keep yelling at you if you talk to them in a calm manner and keep telling them that there is nothing to be upset about. They are looking for a strong defence response and not giving them one is an excellent way of making them stop. You can also leave the house for a short while to give your parents some time to cool off. I've tried that, I never raise my tone at my mum because the moment I do she starts yelling (which at night wakes up dad) and I try to get out of the house often to let things cool down, which doesn't seem to work well. :? Are you sure that there is no conceivable circumstances in which your parents would listen to you, or are you just picking the wrong moments and the wrong ways to reason with them? You need to reason with them in a relaxed atmosphere in a calm way, not when you are at each other's throats. Just pick a moment like when your parents are reading the paper or watch TV and say something along the lines of " We need to talk. I know you have been upset because I've been staying up so late and I would like to explain myself. You see, I feel very relaxed late in the evening and I enjoy that feeling. I understand that you fear that it might make me tired, but I'm confident that I can listen to my body and adjust the time I go to sleep accordingly. Would it be possible for you to allow me to have my relaxing late evenings if I promise it won't cause any disturbances? It would mean a lot to me and it wouldn't require any action on your part." Talking to your parents about your feelings and needs in a calm adult-to-adult fashion goes a surprisingly long way. They won't let you do everything, but having these types of conversations does help them realize that you are becoming an adult and should be treated as such. If it has got to a point where you don't want to have anything to do with them once you move out, then you should make them realize the severity of the problem. You can for example contact your grandparents or some other family members that you know your parents will listen to if you are having trouble getting through to them. Tell them how you feel about your parents and ask that they will talk about the problem with your parents. They just won't listen, I have tried something similar to that, but all mum does is argue till she is right,or until it becomes a because-I-said-so arguement, dad just says that when he was my age he would never dream of doing such a thing, and then he also goes to the because-I-said-so arguement. Also they know it's a big problem, letting relatives know just means my parents will be told what they already know, my mum knows I would move out given the opportunity. I personally would have unplugged my xbox and given it to my dad along with a hammer and told him to show me what kind of a dad I have. (Okay, actually I would have just let it go because people sometimes say things they don't really mean, but it would be cool in a dramatic sort of a way.) If I did that my dad would have broken it, he hates technology, and thinks all my problems are because of the xbox and PC. EDIT: Fixed up some quotes.

Camping! Whoooooo! I'm actually partway serious about that. Might be fun. Yeah, but I eat alot and will have no food, plus I've got to get to Tafe if I ever want to get a decent job....

Got really angry today, punched a hole in the wall in the hallway. Dad hasn't seen it yet, but when he gets home from work I will probably get kicked out because we have been arguing alot, and I have nowhere to go, walking to my nearest friend's house would take a few days, plus carrying my stuff will make it harder, then I'd have to find out whom I could crash with until I could get Centrelink payments (alot faster than applying for a job) then live somewhere I could pay rent for. FML.
  4. That someone doesn't know Yellow Submarine saddens me. I don't see what the point of a meet up is. Traveling seems like an unnecessary risk to me. Group of 500 or group of 5, which would better survive a zombie attack? It also means that we can better use our resources, eg I can't get much in the way of ammo/guns easily, yet I have access to trucks, food (chicken farm up the road) and 3 pharmacies and a hospital in the nearest town.
  5. I was gonna pick 4, but "dance mix the zombies into submission" sounds so tempting.... I think I'll still go with 4, we can drink 'n' dance the zombies into submission, or just get smashed whenever :XD:
  6. I wonder what he would like as a present from someone....not a gray Holden, obviously
  7. Flaws in your plan; - Soon as an outbreak is detected all navy personel will be called in (same with the army, airforce and all other forms of military.) - Farming underwater? Very dificult, wold be easier to live on an island. - How close are you to a gun shop? If so have you already started stockpiling ammo that is common among rifles/pistols. Plus the government will become suspicious if you do start stockpiling thousands of bullets. As you read this thread more you should quickly grasp what the ideal plans will be for most situations. : Also, glass for a submarine? So you can look through the periscope, please tell me that's what he was referring to....
  8. If we simply want to survive, I'd say Australia, a large island with like no people. Kangaroos breed like rabbits and make good meat (haven't had the opportunity to try any personally.) Plus my dad currently owns 3 fully working trucks and a ute, which are great for transporting stuff. Infact where I live it is pretty isolated, there is no walking around here, it's vehicle or nothing.

  11. Stop stalking me. Not going to get far not listening to Da Latios....
  12. Go for it! If she dumps you, bounce back and make her want you alot. If worse comes to worse you just show everyong that she was an idiot to let go of you, that way the girls are more insterested in this guy they never noticed before.
  13. Since this is also other relationship advice, I need some help with my parents. Simply put they are acting in a I'm-always-right-and-you-must-do-as-I-say-because-I-said-so manner. They never listen to my reasoning, yell at me to do something apart from sit indoors and then can't even tell me what I could do out there. Lately they have seemed very disappointed in me, all because I am up later then they are, for which they can't even give me a reason why that is bad, I am at Tafe and have sorted out what I am going to do as a job (porgrammer) and niether of my sisters have an idea (one is a year younger then me, the other is 3 years younger.) My parents are conservative and my mum is christian yet dad isn't, which I find an odd couple. My dad hates technology, and only has a phone for work, which he is throwing out the day he retires and he wishing things were like they were in the 70's. My mum is a very organised person who makes an effert to show people that she has the perfect family to her friends. I get yelled at for stupid things; eating more than 1 pie in a day, not unlocking my door the moment I got dressed, getting up rather late, even though I got home from an all nighter the previous night, staying up past 12, waking my mum up, who yelled and me so dad woke up, who threatened to destroy my tv, PC and xbox, for not overly caring about my school grades, I've been yelled at for asking what food there was as I couldn't find any. Right now I'm wanting to move out (legally can) problem is I have no job, and nowhere to move to. What's some good ways to get them to calm the [bleep] down and to keep them out of my face? I am legally an adult in 11 months and they still treat my like some 11 year old who hasn't got a clue how to look after themselves.

I remeber playing with this at a LAN party, was epic fun and I am currently trying to download it at 8K, it's taking ages :( It'll be epic fun to play after Tafe tomorrow, will be instead of if mum goes through with her threat to stop waking me up (I can't wait till I'm 18/when I move out, whichever comes first, at 18 if she trys to take any of my stuff away I can charge her with theft as I'll be independant, if I move out I can not get stressed out by my parents or feel like a failure as they yell at me most times I see them, which is why I try to be locked in my room/out of the house wherever possible.)
  15. Proto, with the quotes you got the names in the wrong spots.....
  16. Was at a LAN at a mates place, and he noticed it was a free weekend, so I dled it, now I want to buy it, but I am $3 short :( oh well, I should get it now (yes, I will own it on 360 and PC now :XD:) EDIT: I bought it today, my Steam name is fraggature so is my xbl name
  17. What about noise? That's the most essential factor, and one that could save your life. Some of those fuel efficient cars seem to be quiet, my grandma used to have one, used to be the only car that could pull up in our driveway and I'd not hear.
  18. Hills, mountains and cliffs are an aweful idea. Say if is heaily raining? we then have to worry about slipping down (mountain or hill) or having the section we are on collapse and we fall to our deaths (cliff.) Also with mountains and hills we have to worry about an avalanche or mudslide. If we had the tools needed to get people out they would be in the snow/mud as well...

If you do, make sre you let the doctor know to 'slightly' exaggerate when talking with your brother, so he gets scared and learns his lesso- disregard that, he won't learn, but get the doctor to tell him anyway.

=; How many fingers am I holding up? Need to make sure nothing hit you on the head too hard.
  22. I need to pee and there is a jar next to me, shall we see if it is effective? Do it. Throw it at someone then try and head shot them. After hearing about that guy dying in Qld because a deck chair hit the window of his office in a highrise building (was during a storm, he was looking out at the storm and the winds blew a deckchair into the window and the glass killed him) I think I should just use the jar to headshot them.
  23. After a while of playing FPS games, you should be ready to shoot as soon as you see an enemy, not the other way around. I've got countless easy kills due to people being slow to react and shoot. Last night at 3AM I was somehow more alert then the American and Europeans I was playing, had Type 100 + Aperture, Betty x 2 (lvl 36 atm, 1st prestige), stopping power and deep impact and I constantly was beating guys with their MP40s with dual mags, bandoiler, stopping power and deep impact, I know this because of the times I was slow to react or didn't see them (Kill Cam is for more than just seeing where they were). I was laughing so much I was afraid I'd wake up my parents. Then I got really tired and ended up with 20+ deaths and < 10 kills per game for a bit, so I went to sleep. Is 2 AM now so I might go on soon and see if I may be onto something, or whether last night was a 1 off thing.
