  1. Certainly not your best like said before. The left side look really boring, the colour of the background doesn't really go well with the render's colours, and I'm not a big fan of the smudging effects. This particular sig isn't great, but I know you're a good artist, so don't let it discourage you.
  2. He was only trying to help and has a valid point, so no need for the -.-. As for the sig, I don't like it. I'll just repeat what the previous posters said, you need to improve on blending, colour scheme choice, background and text. Also, it could use a border, and the duplicates of the render are really annoying. And, the clouds in th background look like they were half pixeled, half smudged. Did you make the pixel part yourself?
  3. #1: I'd say it's decent. I quite like the water, though it could use some darker shades of blue, but I think the rest really lacks detail. #2: Same as above really, I like the little lights on the building but other than that it's way too dark. #3: Pretty promising, I like how it's turning out so far. The anatomy of the people, especially their legs, could use some improvement though.
  4. I like 'em. The AfroSamurai (lol) one looks great, although I'd say get rid of the white pentool line and maybe try to use a different part of the sig for the splatter clipping mask on the right, I think it's a bit distracting having the focal there again. But overall, it looks really nice. The second one looks quite good too, but the sharpness of the splatter brushes to the right doesn't really go with the more soft look of the render. But I really like your new style, looking forward to seeing moar.
  5. It's not a bad start, but like pointed out before the perspective is really quite off in some places. Especially the sofa and TV look a bit strange. I like the concept though, so I'd like to see the finished version.
  6. Quite a nice signature. Like Chaz said, good blending, and I also quite like the text (although the placement in a corner usually isn't a good idea). You might want to work on making a more interesting background though, this one looks a bit boring and is too blurry IMO. Smudging, displacing, brushing and/or using C4Ds are all good ways to make a nice background, just look up some ideas in signature tutorials (some good ones on http://www.deviantart.com).
  7. JPG = losing information no matter what... png = information stays the same(more), just new ways to compress or do things without real loss its the format you want things in... jpg stinks No, no, no. Pixels are the only kind of graphics that you should never save as jpg, but for other works, especially larger pieces, the file size would be way too large is you saved them as a png. OT: Like I said on the old topic, really nice and helpful guide.
  8. Good choice IMO, I've seen too many avatars with lots of effects crammed into a small canvas (which just doesn't work).
  9. ^ Agreed, it's just really simple. Take Tip.It's map, open it in Gimp and use a plug-in on it, that doesn't show a whole lot of skill. Also, the animation is going way too fast to be able to see the details of the map.
  10. Not incredibly complicated, but it's nicely done. No C/C, looks good. :
  11. AWESOME. Clouds = <3. The pig owns too.

Not a big fan TBH. Like said before, it's really messy, seems to lack flow and the colours don't really go together. Also, it definitely needs blending. I prefer V3, but the text on it is, to be completely honest, horrible. I'd just take it off comlpetely, it doesn't really seem to fit in any part of the signature. http://www.deviantart.com is a site with some great tutorials, take a look at some of them and keep practising.
  13. Looks quite ok, blending and effects are decent and the background isn't too bad (although I'm not a big fan of the colour). The render is indeed quite dark, making it hard to see some of the details on it. Also, the text definitely needs changing, both the placement and the font just don't go with the rest of the image. Overall, not a bad job.
  14. Loving the softness and colours, but I think it's a shame that because of the angle the photo was taken at only her nose area is really clearly visible. I'd like to see her eyes a bit more clearly, although it's still a great shot. =)
  15. The border on V6 is the best IMO. Maybe try one with just a one pixel white stroke around all edges too, I think it would look quite good.
  16. Yay, really happy with the fixed subsilver2 theme, looks great. :D
  17. Once again, Julius is right. Firesgrafix, if you wish to discuss this issue further please private message either (or both) of us instead of posting here. I'm done spamming here after this post, so again: if you want a discussion about this take it to PMs.
  18. For text, try changing the layer's blending mode and/or lowering the opacity.
  19. ^ Last question, did you get permission from ningen to crop/edit it? Because if you did, it's fine.
  20. Textless sigs are fine IMO. But, some great advice. =)
  21. So? You ripped a wallpaper that's someone else's work and made it into a sig. That's against the rules and seriously not cool.
  22. Again, agreed with Julius, it would look a lot better with a straight blade. The blood (assuming that's what it is) at the top looks quite unrealistic, it should drip down more instead of being a cloud-ish shape. Other than that, it isn't bad, but not really great IMO.
  23. Quite a lot of improvement from you first try, and it's certainly a lot better than my second Gimp signature. As for C/C, Julius pretty much covered it. I think blending is still the main thing you need to work on. I'll say it again: keep reading tutorials, they're (well, at least the good ones) are really useful. Keep it up.
