Recommend an artist/band to the poster above you
Nightwish. I've recommended them before, maybe to you, but I don't think so. They're a fantastic symphonic-metal band, and Tarja Turunen (the female lead singer up until 2007) has this great operatic-style voice that just make their songs fantastic. They're great musicians and just a hell of a lot of fun to listen to. Album-wise, I'd suggest Wishmaster or Once.

Translate it then send it to Assassin. He'll sticky it.

Bubble Wrapping Kids
How does this part fit in? It looks more like a cheap attempt to just attack him... What they said.

N - the hardest, most addictive Flash game you'll ever play.
Press tilde (~), vertical bar (|) or backslash (\) at the main menu screen. Controls are pretty easy from there. For more help, read the editor_manual.txt file that's in the N folder you downloaded. Lol, I've had to switch my jump key from shift to space bar 'cause my shift key only works when it feels like it now.

Tip.It Times Presents: The Plight of the Safe Spot
Huta, there's nothing wrong with not liking the article. What I'm getting out of the people who are saying stuff like that is that you should, if you're going to say you didn't like it, at least provide a little bit of C/C for the author in your post. Don't just tell him the article was crap, tell him how the article could not be crap.

Newest SuperMods - Laikrob and pryomancer. Congratulations!

Tip.It Times Presents: The Plight of the Safe Spot
I personally liked the article a lot. It covered what it was trying to cover efficiently, interestingly and altogether quite well. I thought it was well written and I enjoyed the writing style. If you don't like it, don't feel the need to flame it just for that. Your opinion isn't the only one that matters. If you didn't like it, why don't you give out a little constructive criticism? You know why you didn't like it, so why don't you share that with us, so the author knows what to do better next time? The article itself was nice. Very nice. It doesn't matter that it was short, it had more quality in the writing than several of the Editor's pieces did. Is it just the fact that it was a guest author that makes you feel the need to attack it? Yeah. Yeah, it was. Why? Because you can. The author wrote better than most people could. No need to attack it.

Recommend an artist/band to the poster above you
Kalphite - to you, I recommend Between The Buried And Me. Great prog-metal band, a little heavier than a lot of stuff I listen to, but they're fantastic musicians overall. Lots of fun. I especially liked the album Colors, which I picked up on Intriguing's reccomendation earlier on. It was great.

NEW! - Champion Your Band!
Opinionated is exactly what we want, isn't it? You're supposed to make a post that makes people like your band or want to hear about them. If you do it unbiasedly, you're gonna run into problems... Write more! I wanna hear about Nightwish. =P

Price manipulation: right or wrong?
I go with right. If someone has the money and the desire to do it, then they are fully within their rights to do it. There's no rule against it, and it's certainly an innovative technique for moneymaking. It's just another way to make cash, albeit at the expense of other players - but when you're in hot competition for a rune rock or a yew tree, are the people who boost their stats using familiars in the wrong? no, absolutely not. In that case you'd say it was a fair advantage and they were using the system the game is based on to their advantage, and good for them for doing it. You might not like it, because you don't get your resources as well, but they certainly aren't doing anything wrong. Price manipulation is the same way - they're not doing anything inherently wrong. Just because someone's unhappy that their guthan's set they were going to buy went up by a mil, doesn't mean the people that made inordinate amounts of money off of said change are wrong. Hydra: How is it not supply and demand if someone chooses to buy up most of the stock of a certain item? There is supply, and they're demanding it. Isn't that what it's all about, not who is demanding it? Makoto: If monkfish jacked up to 600 each and people stopped paying, they'd go down again, simple as that. That is basic economics - if nobody wants to buy it for a high price, it'll be sold for a lower one. Canine: How is it against the rules? Where in the rules does it say you are not allowed to trade on the market? Because that's all they're doing. Also, your example is the same as Makoto's. If something goes up too high, it's not going to sell and therein lies the price manipulator's risk. They have to ride the currents as well and tell exactly when is the correct time to sell off, before the price outweighs what people are willing to pay. If a price goes too high, nobody will buy. If people are still buying, well, obviously the price isn't too high. People can grumble, but they'll still pay.

The 100 Greatest Guitar Solos Of All Time
I gotta say, most stuff fan-voted just doesn't work out being good. I'd agree with some parts of that list, but there are some that're just silly. As was said, it seems like people were just voting for their favourite songs with guitars in, not the best solos specifically. Meh.

Muse
Aww, Muse... I love them. Listened to them a lot a while back, gone off them recently because I haven't had the cash to buy any of their albums and I've just recently gotten so pissed off at music downloading that I don't do it any more and therefore can't get any new Muse. But I do so love them. My favourite song's gotta be Plug In Baby just for the SWEET guitar line it opens with. So much fun.

Atom Smasher
Aww... I'm still staying up to see how it goes. I'm pretty excited about this - always have been interested in this kind of thing. I gotta say, though, if I knew I was going to die in fifteen minutes or something, I'd just kinda hang out, be with people I loved, and have a hell of a time for fifteen minutes. If there's nothing you could do about it, just have fun, right? =P

Two things I'd suggest adding, Sib: Band member bios and a discography. Once you've got that you're pretty much good.

Study Music
Same here. But you know, I listen to progressive metal all the time anyways, so it's no different. It's kinda hard to keep my attention on my work, though - good thing I don't study much =P

Insanely hard games
[/hide] I read the blogs of a couple of guys that were in that fight, It's pretty insane. Makes you wonder if SE took responsible gaming into consideration when they designed it. I mean.. i've raided on a few games, you usually spend an hour or so clearing trash then 15-30 minutes killing the boss, and the boss will tire you out just having to focus intently for that long, but 18 hours!? I heard somewhere that Se intended it to be killed in shifts.. so you'd have say 4 teams that each took it for a few hours, but nobody knew about the length of the fight beforehand. You can imagine being 4 hours into the fight thinking 'surely it must be nearly dead' not knowing there's another 14 hours+ ahead of you. Holy Christ. That's not even funny. People were throwing up and passing out from focusing so intently for so long... That's disgusting. I can't believe SE would do that. How can you even think of responsible gaming while you make a boss that long? EDIT: I just lost.

I need help to sleep.
Two things that have already been suggested are the things I use. I'm often up late, and when I try to get to bed early, I have a bad time of it quite often. But I always - ALWAYS - have noted a difference when I go to sleep reading a GOOD book (a bad book just makes you bored and forces your mind to wander) and listen to GOOD music. For instance, I fall asleep reading George R. R. Martin books and listening to Dream Theater more easily than I sleep without anything. That's all the advice I've got. Sorry =(

Insanely hard games
Everybody go home, thread is over. Agreed. That game is absolutely insane. As a second, I'll nominate the original Flash version of N for PC (not N+, but I've never played it). It's soooo aggravatingly impossible, especially if you pick up the N-Reality mod, which adds on another hundred, honest-to-god impossible episodes (five hundred levels).
-
N - the hardest, most addictive Flash game you'll ever play.
Nahh, we agreed that IWBTG was harder. But N is more addictive and (dare I say) enjoyable =P I've now been working on 88-4: Mother Thumping Impossible for a solid three and a half hours (though not continuous) and am around two-thirds of the way through it. It's a sick, disgusting level, but I'm loving it.

Metallica - Death Magnetic leaked!
People still do that? I do. ;)

Noooooooo! The Voice. He's dead.
I'm going to go with the Voice from CBC Radio to replace him... unless they were the same person.

Top Band?
Yay for BTBAM! =P Right now, Dream Theater and Rush are competing for top spot. I'm going to go with Rush though. Because they're awesome.
