  1. Chinning at your level is not worth it. As in, it will cost a lot and you won't get enough xp. Avianses are never great range xp, but they do have a good ratio of xp to money earned. I know you said you don't like it, but yaks are your best option. Use full range void, unholy book, amulet of ranging, ranger/snakeskin boots, black knives, avas acumulator, archer ring (imbued if you have the rank). It really is the best option at your level.
  2. depends if you're using your altar or someone elses. The time you lose looking for a house will probably equal out with the amount you'll lose having to light your own burners. Using someone elses is the easiest. Also, it is bery easy to run to the yanille bank and back to the house altar, so look for someone who is having a party there.
  3. Is that still a ceratainty? I don't see how cheat servers are needed I was under the impression that only the rentable/private servers would have cheats. Not the official ones we're allowed to play on now.
  4. I've read the topic, I believe the post you're talking about was written be 3 hit u who said that he was expecting rwt and account selling to become more popular. I think there was maybe 1 reply to this? Anyway, this thread wasn't meant to be about RWT, more about the interactions between the economies of the 2 games, but I must have worded it really badly because hardly anyone picked up on that...
  5. My advice would be: Throw out virtually everything. If you haven't used it in the last 3 months and cannot see yourself using it in the next 6 months, it isn't worth having. Use the tabs. They were made to help organise your bank but I have real trouble seeing any form of order in yours =S For example, This is my order. it's very subjective but hopefully it should help you get an idea of how to look after yours Tab one: generic quest items and currencies (pestle and mortar, ropes, buckets, pots, gp, trading sticks, tokkul) also anything I'm using a lot of atm Tab two: runes and teleport items (everything you need for spells, teleports including elf crystals, ectophials, jewlery teles etc.) Tab three: costumes stuff (any speak amulets, any costume stuff) Tab four: Food and fishing (all foods, raw and cooked, all pots, and fishing stuff) Tab five: Tools (basically everything you need for crafting, smithing, wc, mining, hunter. This is probably my biggest tab) Tab six: Combat stuff (another big tab, everything for range and mellee combat - weapons armours ammo etc.) Tab seven: Farming stuff (seeds, produce that doesn't go in food, equipment) Tab eight: Herblore stuff (clean and grimy herbs, unfinished pots etc) Tab nine: Junk (any junk/unsellables or stuff that I plan on selling soon)
  6. I'm sorry you don't think this should be a thread, but really I made it to discuss any forseeable interactions between the 2 economies or general games, certainly not limited to this one particular aspect, it's just the first that I could think of. I was really looking forward to seeing others that the TIF community could think of and the possible consequences of this
  7. ~~I personally believe this to be different from the other topic, I have read all the posts so far (up to page 8) and haven't seen anyone discussing this so this is why I believe it deserves it's own post. Though obviously if the mods disagree, feel free to move/merge/delete~~ As many of you know, recently all but one of the RSC worlds were open to new members for the first time. Many old members that had lost their access to classic logged in to experience the nostalgia of opperating their old accounts again. Many newer member (myself included) have had a look to see what all the fuss was about. Now the rules of classic allow free trade with anyone, old style pking and many other old option that have been taken away from RS2, making it attractive for people who believe Jagex has gone too far with some of it's recent changes. Some people have said that by opening up classic worlds again you're going to allow in RWT and that there's going to be a new wave of botters which will drag down the community and rune the economics of RSC. While I noticed while browsing RSOF earlier today, was a new form of trust trade that's already starting. People are offering RS2 money In return for RSC items. It makes sense, you're rich on your RS2 main, but a noob on RSC, why not just buy someones junk in return for some useful items on RSC? I would like your opinions; is this against the rules? does it count as trading between accounts, even if they are actually the same account? what will/can Jagex do to combat this? Are there any other ways that you can see for future interaction between the RSC RS2 economies? (here's the url for the first forum post I could find discussing this: http://[Use Quick Find Code]/[Please Use QuickFind Code]?14,15,619,59885463) Sorry, don't know how to use quick codes
  8. You've answered your own question. They do indeed add 270m of junk to the trade. Basically, when training some skills (say fletching) you make certain products that nobody wants to buy (say unstrung willow longbows). The GE gives these items a value but because nobody wants them, they are realistically worthless - Junk. Now lets say you've been training this skill and have made thousands of these junk items which have a GE worth of 100s of thousands or even millions but a realistic price of 0 because nobody wants to buy them, you also have a rare item (say an easter) that people are willing to pay a lot more than the GE price for because of it's rarity. So in a trade with that person you offer the easter and all your junk to bring up the price and get a lot more coins. The item lending thing you mentioned is another aspect of trading that involves junk. If you have a highly sort after item (claws/godswords) that you want to lend out there is a maximum cap you are meant to be able to charge set via trade limits. If you want to charge more than this amount, you will have to add junk to the trade to allow the other person to give you more money. So each item have a "lent item" value as well. I assume that by lending the item, the buyer was effectively giving the seller an opportunity to use if that he would otherwise have had to pay for. If you have any more questions on the , please do so in Help and Advice
  9. I believe that I once heard that it was a potential place for the soul altar, but that may have just been pure speculation.
  10. It doesn't cost you Quest Points, it costs you some other arbitary currency that has no other interaction with your runescape account. Feel free to use the official help, sometime it can be really helpful (eg. for puzzles which are specific to your account)
  11. You'll find it very difficult to find even an average clan with f2p cb lvl 99. My advice would be to stay in world 144 (I think?) or get a highler level friend to find out the world a particular clan in practicing on. Anyway, in answer to your question, on the themed world, about 15 hours. Source: Me (after having to get full void twice (damn you Revenants!) ) just remember to pray all the time, don't panic if you die, and DO NOT kill the brawlers!!! Have fun!
  12. Thats got old now, and that one doesn't even work that well. As you talk of taking people to court, when clearly the premise of this matches Kings Ransom ergo you're acting as a prosecuting or defending lawyer. Not actually taking ppl to court. Plus that boat has no omg sailing references to it as we had to get Ned to sail it for us. Party pooper <_< And the only reason we had to get ned to sail for us is because we didn't have the required level :P Though there's no need to reply so seriously to what was obviously a light-hearted post...
  13. Well since no oneelse has said it, I guess it's up to me... Now I'll get to take Klarense (the guy from Dragon Slayer) to court for stealing my boat... Boats are used for... SAILING!!!!!@@@@@@@@!!!!!!!! But seriously, I'm looking forward to taking Mollys sister to court and giving her the freaking chair.
  14. I'm pretty sure that when I saw him there today, he had a war tortoise.
  15. My first ever trip. Used it more as a learning experience than a real money-making run. Discovered that emergency food and teleport are really not necessary, also body runes aren't worth the inventory space. And I have to stop picking up herbs (no matter how hard that is). Next I'm going to try to work out whether using a pendant of armadyl and fighting the lower level avianses in the eerye (spelling) makes up for the loss of range bonus from not using amulet of ranging while fighting higher level ones. Thanks for the guide!!!
  16. Really hate to burst your bubble but gl trying to get a revenant imp
  17. Wishing you the best of luck with all your goals! Your guides are really helpful, am hoping to start going to avianses very soon, once I get a couple more problems sorted out. Maybe you could turn on private or add me for a little bit, I promise it wouldnt take up much of your time!
  18. Anyone figured out the secret Eek rewards? My only thought so far was visiting the giant spider under the underground pass but alas, nothing fun happened =(
  19. I believe you've made it through the underground pass and into the elf lands. Basically, you're going to have to go through again, and then take the route north to the elf camp to see Lord Tyroth (or whatever his name is). Don't forget plenty of light foods and antipoisons. Little hint, always have hp restore prayer on while in underground pass, there are enough altars to keep you topped up. Also, while doing the traps, Run over the leaf ones, and walk over the crossbow and stick ones. Good luck!
  20. Wow, thanks everyone for getting back to me so fast! Especially Slaytanicc, I must have read your guide for avianses about 4 times now lol. I'll be sure to post how succesful I've been after a few trips.
  21. Hey, I've currently got 75 range and I'm looking to get it up to 80-85 using bronze knives at Yaks and then making my way to avianses. I was just wondering whether any of you guys knew whether Full range void or Full Black d'hide would be better for training at Yaks? These are the 2 equipment setups I could be using: Archer helm Avas accumulator Amulet of Ranging Black d'hide body Zamorak prayer book Black d'hide chaps Black d'hide vambs Snakeskin boots or Void range helm amulet of ranging Avas accumulator Void body Void legs Void gloves snakeskin boots Zamorak book Also, I can't afford an archers ring so is there anything a little cheaper any of you could please suggest? Thanks in advance!
  22. Wow, I was just about to say that. I think the idea of "other god prayers" is stupid. All the lore type info about prayer atm is that ALL the prayers are granted by whichever god you pray too. Eg if you are zamorakian he gives u protect from melee, if you are sara boy you get it from sara etc. Though i do agree symbol is being de-saradomined to show this genereal status Check out this page then: http://www.runescape.com/kbase/guid/letters15 The relevant info: I know it's old, but from this, we can take it that Saradomin is in charge/responsible for our current prayer book. Therefore, it's perfectly possible (or even likely) that other gods would have other prayerbooks
  23. Thank you for your spam. This is a discussion about the effectiveness of gloves of silence. I have only used them once, so I guess I can't say how well they work or not. They seemed to be helping when I used em though. :P OPs post was a question: "Is this just me? Or have any of you have had this?" The description for Help and Advice reads:"Whether you need help or are offering help, all questions belong here." It makes sense for people to believe this belongs in Help and Advice, no need to be sarcastic. OT: In my (admittedly limited) experience, gloves of silence do work, and noticably so. ROW is a different matter, I do believe that it improves your chance of a rare drop, but whether that is undermined by the slower kills you'll be getting comapared to wearing a better ring, is a different matter.
  24. No offence intended but that idea is awful, unless you're taking the piss, then its great. Why? It makes herbalists happy since they can still use their extreme pots in PvP, and it makes PK'ers happy since people toting extreme pots will have their cmbt lvl affected. So, what reasons are there that make this bad? The reason it is bad is because of the precident it sets. I mean, we all can easily understand why Summoning affects your combat in the way that it does but if you start doing it with everything, it'll be rediculous. If you make it so that high level potions raise your combat level, (new max level shall we say 140?) then you'll have to make it do the same for those with a high MA rank and the powerful imbued rings (new max 145). And if you've done it for the rings, you'll have to do it for other items as well shall we say trimmed 99 capes? (new max 150). Rune defender? might as well throw that one in as well. The reason you can't add combat levels is that with every combat level you add on, every other combat level is cheapened untill eventually they're pretty much worthless. The potions should never have been removed from PVP. They were a fair adition that was available to everyone equally, all you have to do raise your herblore level the same as you would strength or attack. If certain people dont want to raise their herblore, that's their choice, but they should have to live with the consequesces of that choice and not just whine until all the rules of the game changes to suit them.
  25. The main problem you're going to face is that you're f2p. 90% of the good money makers are P2P so don't expect anything to be amazing profit. You have a decent fishing level, so I would advise going for lobs or swordies. These can be either fished in Karmaja on the pier (don't forget to bring money for the ship!) I would also advice using the Explorer ring from the Lumbridge diary if you have it as this will teleport you to just outside draynor, making your run distance shorter and meaning you don't have to use the boat twice. If you don't mind the wilderness, you can use the fishing spot there which I believe is closer to the bank, you just have to worry about pkers/revs. It's up to you. Other things you can do in F2P if you're not looking for xp are NPC buying. For instance, in the magic shope in port sarim (again, not too far from Draynor) sells eyes of newts for 3gp (this proce will go up as stock depletes but really don't worry about this). These eyes of newts currently sell for 243 on the GE so for each one you'll be getting 240 profit, you can only do this a few times before the stock will have depleted but if you find yourself passing, you might as well stock up. At lower levels, cow hides seem to work quite well. There's a field in lumbridge where there is an NPC (I think his name might be bob barter but DO NOT quote me on that as I'm not sure) who will instatly teleport any cow hides in your inventory to your bank, meaning you can stay there for ages (he sill take 1 or 2 per bank transaction but it's not enough to get worried about). Another thing you can do is go to the air running world and req assist from someone with high runecrafting and then sell the airs you make, you won't make any xp, but the money won't be too bad. Oh, and if you want levels, you might as well train mining. You'd probably do best mining the 3 iron rocks aoutside varrock east and then banking them to sell on the GE later. It will help you get closer to the best money maker on F2P (Rune rock mining) Now hopefully, with all these methods you'll be able to find something that doesn't bore you too much. Have fun
