  1. Animals have the right... to be tasty.
  2. I think of my future to the extent of what classes I need to take to graduate. I also think about where I want to be in my field in 5 years, and in 10 years. Most of it is uncertain, but I don't worry about it too much. STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) majors will always be needed, especially if the world is going to become more technologically advanced. Its not like I'm a philosophy major...
  3. just got corrupt battleaxe as a drop... puts my 3 day pking loot at 10m. Still writing that PKing guide, afraid I might have too much text in one post. I'll put it up as a wip when I get about 1/2 done.
  4. Couple years ago a guy on my robotics team was getting ticked of by an outspoken vegetarian. He turned to the girl, and said - "You know what my favorite thing in the world is? When I take a big bite out of a nice steak and it bleeds". I've since found its one of my favorite things too.
  5. Animal feces also make good fertilizers...
  6. Fruits and Veggies feel pain. I present this as evidence: Gotta love http://shirt.woot.com/friends.aspx?k=15297. Meat doesn't kill you, carbs do.
  7. Full time co-op student... means every other semester I'm either at school or working full time (5 year program, no breaks  ) On my 3rd work session, working with consumer electronics (cable boxes). Studying electrical engineering at school, so I'm an EE.
  8. Just stay World 1.... they'll find you. If they like your style, they'll invite you. I'll let you know if you need to change worlds
  9. Culver's, hands down. Their butter burgers are delicious. Its pretty far from my house though <_< Not really traditional "fast food" but I love me some Skyline Chili. Small four-way with beans, two cheese coneys. So goooood.
  10. What is a typical day like at the office; what are hours of operation, days worked, etc. When can employees access their jmod account, when can they access their player account (how isolated are they on campus)? How many projects do employees focus on?
  11. I'm going to propose something, you promise you'll hear me out? Let's make Pmods have no crown at all. "Undercover" Mods Giv me 10k or i mute u... i undercover mod.
  12. Can anyone confirm if its only PVP, or in other worlds as well? Maybe we need a public service announcement - go up these stairs and you'll die! Reminds me a bit like the original BH - get a kill, loot some of it, and you'll be stuck for 3 minutes.
  13. Lol... take out one of those players, add a level 3, and you'd miraculously have 53k instead. You'd probably finish in the same time as well... GF Jagex.
  14. Its not a crown, its a broken shot glass. They were drunk and they slammed it down a bit too hard.

Even if that had never happened before, we could do a thought experiment. It is well known that town A is very pro-gun. That is to say more than 80% of the houses in town A own a firearm. Town B, 10 miles away, has ordinances prohibiting firearms (so much so that less than 5% of the people in town B have them). If you were a thief, who would you rob? Just saying, jail time is one thing (not enough to deter some individuals), but risking their life is another.

Statistics never prove anything. [/stat nazi] If someone is willing to murder another, I don't see how making guns illegal will stop them (from murder, and from obtaining an illegal firearm). I understand how legal guns can deter them (you know, bigger risk to your own life to take another). Anyone want to look for a stat for me? Say, number of incidents of armed robbery in gas stations, banks, and.... gun shops? Would be interesting to see.
  17. Why wouldn't you want to do that ? Look at the situation in the UK. I really could care less about their true motives, but I'd rather have them be straight with the rest of the world about it. Also, (not to accuse anyone) this could be a case of hypocrisy. Its OK if France (and the majority of the French population) discriminates against Muslims and supports anti-Islamic policies, but its not OK if the US (majority of it's population) wants Imam Rauf to not build a Mosque near Ground Zero. What ? Whos true motives ? Wtf, clarify what you're saying. Either way, Sharia law [and courts] is a very bad idea in any country with it's own government and laws. Same goes for Jewish courts. France just banned niqabs. They had one or more reasons for doing it. Many people here have cited security as a reason for banning them. I think a legitimate reason could be because they are Xenophobic, Islamaphobic, or they just hate Arabic immigrants. Either way, I don't care what their motives are, but I wish they'd be honest with themselves and the rest of the world why they did it. I also think that people who say the double standard is OK are hypocrites, with regard to the planned Mosque near ground zero. Someone thinking "This French policy is OK because they're doing it for security reasons, but Americans not wanting a mosque near ground zero must mean they're bigots" needs to open their eyes.

How about, gun is smuggled into country (not stolen). Gun is purchased illegally out of someone's trunk (nobody knows about it). Gun is used to commit crime. If guns are outlawed then only outlaws will have guns; that means the normal civilians that own them will turn them in, leaving everyone more vulnerable. Also, people I work with own guns. They regularly go to ranges and shoot them. Others I work with rent guns, and shoot at ranges. If nothing else it's a valid reason to own a gun - as a hobby.
  19. I'm unclear what you're asking. Could you please re-phrase?
  20. Why wouldn't you want to do that ? Look at the situation in the UK. I really could care less about their true motives, but I'd rather have them be straight with the rest of the world about it. 21. The way I see it, those rallies are compliments to Glenn Beck. Why? Glenn attracted enough media attention and drew enough people to D.C. to get a parody! If only 10,000 people showed up, do you really think that Jon Stewart would bother with this?
  22. Pretty much. I think the security thing was a false front for their real agenda - they want to stop Muslims (and Sharia law) from "invading" France. Easiest way to do that is to stop them from practicing their beliefs. Also, the law makes a distinction between a woman that chooses to wear it and a woman that's forced to wear it - 100euro fine for the woman that chooses to wear it, some ridiculously high amount (on the order of 10,000, if I remember correctly) for a woman that's forced to wear it (not to her, but the dude forcing her).
  23. This isn't right. Maybe its just the bigot in me, but I feel like individuals should be allowed to wear whatever they want. Sure, other countries don't guarantee freedom of speech or religion the way the United States does, but haven't we learned any lessons from history? The only thing that could've been worse is if they required them to wear it.

I disagree that trying to reduce a very specific category of crime while ignoring all others is a reasonable goal. Say all hospitals in the world are tired of getting sued for malpractice during surgery. They all decide to stop having surgeries, and switch to herbal medicine. The number of wrongful deaths increases, so they are sued more. Hurray! The total amount of malpractice from botched surgeries is now zero, but the total amount the hospital faces is now higher than before, and the world is worse off for it.
