  1. Racked up the kills this weekend in PVP/BH. Didn't sell loot in my bank until it became full - 2.1M. Take out the cost of food and potions, and that makes about 1.6M in profit. I'm thinking about writing a guide to F2P pking, anyone interested? If I do that, I'll have to start getting pictures of my kills.
  2. http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2010/sep/13/kashmir-protesters-killed-quran-row http://www.news24.com/World/News/2-dead-in-Afghan-Quran-burning-riot-20100912 So, Pastor doesn't burn the Qu'ran, but people rioted anyway (fueled by false reports?) There were probably more articles/riots, but too lazy to look for them (these were top 2 results). I understand the areas in question aren't as stable as other areas in the world, but really? Not sure if I know of anything in recent memory when Christians rioted over something that offended them (Say, bible burning?) If you know of anything (or care to look) please let me know.

Countries have a right to be sovereign, which means they should be allowed to have their immigration policies and enforce them. If that means that they put up a 50 ft high wall at the borders with guards on top, equipped with sniper rifles or machine guns, that's their right. If it means they shoot trespassers on sight (people going through unauthorized areas), that's their right. If the nation absolutely refuses to allow immigration, that's their right. Some of these examples may be unethical and deserve criticism, but representatives from countries with policies similar or stricter than another country's policies need to quit being hypocrites. Individuals looking to become citizens of another country should abide by its laws, this means they need to abide by immigration laws. Illegal Immigration is a subject that I strongly disagree with former President Bush's policy - he didn't enforce immigration laws. I'd also like to point out that America's weak immigration policies are the reason Mexico is in a crap-hole right now with it's drug cartels. If the border wasn't so insecure it'd make it less profitable and more dangerous to sell drugs to Americans.
  4. Right, but they could also be taking it out of context. The new testament is very clear about many things, especially over the whole "God loves everyone" part. In fact, its so clear that any interpretation otherwise is outright idiotic. With Islam, you've got a large population that has an interpretation of the Qu'ran that all non-believers must convert, be taxed, or killed. Their belief isn't "idiotic" either, its in there and can rationally be interpreted to say exactly that (different translations may give different texts but the same idea is still there). The Qu'ran also takes a large step backward from the "turn the other cheek" forgiveness lesson back to Babylonian law, "eye for an eye." Any Muslim wanting this kind of religious justice isn't radical, it's in their holy book. I don't fault them for having faith, but somehow they need to modernize and realize the entire world isn't bound to their Sharia law. In the "west", we've been accustomed to all these great freedoms that we've learned to live and let live. Our mentality is, "I'm going to do my thing, and you can do your thing. As long as you're not directly injuring me, or anyone else, we're cool." These extremists can't let that happen, and when they intervene they become terrorists. At this point, if the Pastor decides not to burn these Qu'rans because "it endangers the troops," or "Christians will suffer/die", it'll mean that terrorism won, just like it beat Comedy Central. If he decides that it'll offend the sensibilities of a billion people world wide for a fleeting minute, that's a rational and respectable decision but it won't matter to the extremists; they'll see it as a victory (terrorism wins). Unfortunately we're in a no-win situation because some nobody decided that their actions spoke louder than words, not realizing how true it was.
  5. Now its time to forget about him.
  6. Teleblock and maging in remote areas can do amazing things... I might take a video or post a guide on it later.
  7. Give me an hour and I can point out about 20 places in the New Testament where the WBC is outright wrong. "God hates [bleep]s" contradicts the very core of Christianity. How many places in the Qu'ran can Muslims point out that contradict what the extremists are doing? A peaceful religion's response to crazies burning its holy book would be to pray for that individual, not put out death threats. Clearly we didn't see that here. We also saw that many middle easterners had a very difficult time distinguishing this nobody from all of Christianity, the West or even the POTUS. Freedom of speech is an impossible concept to them, and the world is worse off for it.
  8. Not to me :P (At least, when they're under 1K each) That's some expensive XP... getting into prayer territories. Was PvPing last night (actually, every night this week). Mostly goofing off, I was maging. Some level 86 was all ticked off that I was attacking him, "Would you fight a lvl 105?" He ran with little food left, I lagged and someone else tried killing him (A level 84... splashes ftl). He got away. Funny, because before I fought him I fought a level 104 and KO'd them. Also, a while later a 107 had their r2h out and wouldn't leave me be. When he wouldn't leave me alone, I took out my g2h and started hitting back. I don't think he ate a single piece of food, and I went through half an inventory. About halfway through the fight, he asked me if gravite was worth it, especially because I was splashing so much. Then he proceeded to tell me how awesome his r2h was, which was annoying. Not sure if he realized this or not, but he had 12 combat levels on me (guessing he had all stats equal at about 85). The reason I can't hit isn't because my g2h stinks, its because my stats stink versus a tank. Finally I KO'd him with a 298. Yeah, gravite is worth it - it allows me to hit 360. Thankfully he didn't know that. All in all a good evening, I netted about 600k (come to think of it, maybe more).
  9. May 22, 2009 - http://edition.cnn.com/2009/WORLD/asiapcf/05/20/us.military.bibles.burned/index.html Funny, I don't remember any outrage over this. United States military burning bibles... America is living a dangerous double standard right now - we'll bend over backwards for any religion other than Judaism or Christianity. I wish people would realize that extremists will hate America no matter what, and use any excuse to incite violence. Anyhow, if he does burn the Qu'ran, I wonder how long it'll be before he's killed. Anyone want to bet? I'm thinking within the year he'll be killed, which by the way would be an act of terrorism (it won't be called that though). Kind of reminds me of South Park... and how Comedy Central has no 'nads. Also reminds me of: http://www.southparkstudios.com/clips/151048
  10. First off, its free; it has a lot of content for being free; it has enough variety that it doesn't have to be too repetitive. Second of all, it has very small requirements and no disc required install. Its played on a web browser. After I play it, I don't have to worry about some process going on in my system even though I'm not playing the game. Its java, so I don't have to worry about the junk that may come with it (except the yahoo! toolbar with the JRE setup, but that's oracle's fault not Jagex's). Thirdly, I can let my character do all the work. As much as a grind the game *can* be, it doesn't have to. Some of the worst portions of the game are also mindless, meaning I can watch a movie on the side. Did I mention it was free? Finally, there are some things you can only get in Runescape (I have yet to find a Great Orb Project substitute). As similar as it may be to other games, the style, the flavor, the vibe is different. That's why I play Runescape over other MMO's.
  11. :twss: Glad you figured that out.
  12. Superheat is your friend. Prices on raw materials should start tanking about now since no one wants them after EXP weekend. Crafting some jewelry (emerald rings?) usually yields a profit, but it can be slow. Only way runecrafting costs a lot of money is if you make tiaras or if you're starting from lvl 1. If you have your explorers ring 3, you should get an extra 5% of the ess you craft. If you really, really don't like runecrafting, I'd suggest you get FoG gloves to lessen the time you rc and increase the time you're in combat. Keep in mind that the 75 fog tokens you give up are worth about 100k in rune gauntlets.
  13. yugioh is better tbh. Never played Magic, actually. It's a few years before my time. When I moved to my neighborhood, all the kids were over pokemon and started on yugioh, so I did that instead. Oh well.
  14. The requirements for this are meh.
  15. Its awful that grocery stores charge money for food that keeps you alive...
  16. been bhing for a bit... highlight of the night was a corrupt scim drop (first 3m drop ever  ) Eping sucks a big one tho.
  17. I'm pretty epic at debugging code in C or Java. Also at finding obscure information in 40 seconds or less (former ChaCha guide). As far as non-computer talents, I can use my index finger to make a popping sound on my cheeks, and I can vary the tone to mimic songs. I originally got the idea and perfected the "art" with the Spectrum Song.
  18. Talking about page numbers is such an old and pointless talking point. That bill didn't need to be 1000 pages long. In fact, no law needs to be 1000 pages long. The only reason a law needs to be 1000 pages long is to include every special interest in Washington, trying to get their piece. And for something that's "comprehensive," you sure missed a ton. Not really. See, that's the problem with the GOP: they have been purged of any moderate or liberal Republicans, and now there are only the far-right. Not even Bob Bennet was far enough to the right for your reactionary [wagon]. The Democrats, on the other hand, have like a bunch of pro-lifers, a bunch of corporate Blue Dogs, and a larger tent. And it's because you purged them all into the Democratic party, moving the Democratic party to the right. So half of our members would have been Republicans like...20-30 years ago. Name all the Democrats who are pro-life, and I'll show you a list of people that have sold their souls. When it comes down to voting, the only thing that matters is the D or the R next to their name. People rarely break from their party on votes. A case in point is Stupak - he was bought off with some money to improve a Michigan airport. This was Aug-30. The way it was written? no way. And the way the bailout bill was written? Free money for banks, no strings attached. This will make sure they'll start lending, right? Its funny how you love to criticize Bush for the debt he incurred in the last few months in office, when your boy Barry has racked up the same amount or more. Also, let's not forget that it was your boy Barney Frank's financial crisis, forcing banks to lend money to those who couldn't pay it back. B.O. has had two years to push his agenda. You'd think that dropping a couple trillion dollars would "stimulate" the economy, but it appears that Keynesian economic theory has thoroughly been debunked. In the 1920s there was a severe recession. This was believed to be caused primarily by deflation. Anyhow, the response to the decrease in GDP was to slash taxes and to slash government spending. The reason its never taught in history books is because of how brief it was. Part of limited government is writing simple legislation that has no loop-holes. A simplified tax code would work wonders to help businesses. Big questions right now for small businesses are, "If I were to hire this person, how much overhead would I have to pay?" No one has any idea what the current laws are or how it'll affect them. Uncertainty certainly does not help an economy. The other thing that Obama appears to hate is success. People that "make enough money already." Right now, the Democrats are predicted to lose the house, and possibly the Senate. If that isn't a referendum on current policies, I don't know what is.
  19. usually ping is negative when they haven't pinged it yet. If you wait about 5 minutes it'll fill in as received. Keep in mind that its sending these requests to ~170 worlds (not sure how many servers), and can take some time to get them all done. Also, I've found my ping doesn't vary too much (unless someone in my house is streaming videos, or multiple instances of pandora are going). Usually its 80-90 for all US worlds. Worst ping I've had was 1000 on w57, I think it was glitching out. Also, only reason the 1000 went through is because its one of my two favorites.
  20. Uh, no. In 2009, nearly half of all working Americans paid no federal income tax, and some of them actually received tax credits for taxes they didn't pay (in essence, welfare). But that doesn't really matter, because it was the rich who were always footing the bill for the poor in the medical system anyway. It is unethical for hospitals to deny necessary treatment to sick individuals. Because they can't pay, the hospitals raise their prices on everyone else. It is essentially how stores raise the prices on their goods based on their estimate for how much will be shoplifted. Also, magekillr, I wanted to know - how does a raise in premiums help your liberal base's platform any more? I thought the biggest reason that you guys wanted to pass gov't healthcare was so that insurance companies couldn't raise their rates - you know, make healthcare cheaper for everyone. Seems like you guys missed that in the boondoggle of 1000+ pages of legislation. And don't give me any excuses about how it was the political right that prevented it from happening - you had a super majority in both the house, the senate. If you guys had your act together you could have passed anything. Don't worry though. Come November 2nd, America will show you exactly how pissed off it is with the leftist/progressive agenda.
  21. *hits mod trick in the face and breaks his glasses* HAHA! Most interesting part was seeing their office... no cubes.
  22. F2Pers should also get full dungeoneering experience after they reach 90 combat but they don't. There are so many other things wrong with F2P that should be fixed before they dump on us with this.
  23. Mmm. I wonder if we'll get an explorer's ring (4) or just added a new feature to the current ring. (like the Ardougne cloak gets an unlimited teleport feature) Either way, I hope we'll get more than just 30 free casts of High Level Alchemy a day. I hope we get an extra run charge... That'll be worth more to me than the alchs. I never use the run recharges. >_< Yep, I'm that cheap. I use it when I have to get somewhere that's a royal pain... like to FoG to recharge my stuffs. Other than that, I usually forget that I've got the lumby ring on. It provides a nice boost when playing GOP though. Anyone want to bet that they'll have some sort of GOP task in the hard diary? Like use a teletab to get to the water altar, or win all 6 rounds in a game of GOP.
