  1. Yeah, it's alright. Found it pretty funny the first few times I listened through the albums but there are a few songs I actually quite like for the guitar/drumming, and not just the Arnie references. I think I Am A Cybernetic Organism, Living Tissue Over (Metal) Endoskeleton is a great song. I personally think it's their best song. I've been listening to a lot of Mudvayne lately just because I found their second CD lying around my house. So I bought their first. I think they're great. Once they got mainstream they got tamer, but their old stuff is great.
  2. Does anyone else like Austrian Death Machine? Or is it just me?
  3. There were a few more than three. Well, I can't rightly count Obama because he is there everyday. I just meant visitors. Though I guess some of the Beck fans can be counted too.
  4. My favorite part is that Al Sharpton couldn't keep his stupid nose out of Beck's rally and had to have a march/rally of his own to complain. So we had three major idiots in DC yesterday: -Al Sharpton -Glenn Beck -Sarah Palin
  5. [spoiler=Huge Image] :???: Something about that poster makes me laugh... Next thing you know we'll get a remake of the Flintstones movie, a Jettsons movie. Hell, where's mah Johnny Quest movie?

Starting school in a couple days. Here's my schedule: EB- Marine Corp JROTC 1-Introduction To Engineering 2-Mass Media 3-French 3/4 4-Chemistry 5-Advanced Geometry 6-Advanced English I'm looking forward to Mass Media and Engineering. And EB is early bird. I don't know if that's a universal thing. I go to school an hour earlier and take that class, opening up an extra hour for another class.

The Hunt For Atlantis by Andy McDermott  It's pretty silly most of the scientific and historic things, but the action is great and it's like Indiana Jones with Arnold Scwarzenegger as Indy or something. It's a fun book. Not thought provoking or anything, but a good garbage read.
  8. The thing is though, that this was founded as a Christian nation, but it accepts everyone else. Which is kind of confusing when you think of it. So we are Christian, yes. But yet, we do also have equal rights for everyone. So the people complaining we are a Christian nation are right. The people complaining we are a nation built for everyone is right. I just like to say we should accept everyone. And be done with it. Most of the founding Fathers weren't Christian anyway...
  9. YES! This is solving our problems! BURN MOSQUES! BURN THE KORAN! YELL THAT JESUS HATES MUSLIMS...wait? Doesn't the bible have that self-righteous [cabbage] about Jesus loving everyone? Wait, are we using religion as a means to hurt and kill people? HEY WORLD, this proves we are superior to radical Islam. Seriously, the stupidity of this all makes my brain hurt. Makes me wish I lived somewhere else because its almost impossible to watch the news without wanting to punch someone. I'm glad America can stand united again after so many years of disunity, but do we have to stand united in a cause as pointless as this? *Taps foot against ground and waits for something to happen that'll turn these righteous idiots into bumbling, crying idiots.* All this is is an expose to the rest of the world showing them America is full of people just as insane as those in radical Islam, if not worse.
  10. Seriously, you sound like a Stephen Colbert sketch. It's terrible. -.- Except Stephen Colbert is funny. And I agree that I want a reputable source for something like that.
  11. 150? That's nothing. Go read the Old Testament.
  12. Started playing Neverwinter Nights last night. It's alright. Some niggling problems concerning the camera and the fact the ingame tutorial never explains D and D's armor system, meaning my dad laughed at me as I explained that I had rank 7 armor and kept picking up rank 5 armor, which is better than 7. He had to spend a half an hour last night explaining some rules of D and D. And then I chose a Paladin Undead Hunter and gave him a sociopath's voice, despite the fact he is lawful good. Whatever...
  13. I can't agree with this at all. Religion tied together ancient communities and was what tied the hunter-gatherers together to create actual peoples. Without religion the world would not be as it is and people wouldn't be as unified as they were and are. Despite the fact religion is a reason for war and a reason for fighting, it is still something that built this world to what it is. It still lingers, and despite the fact it is something that unifies one people, other people's hate the others. I have no problem with religion whatsoever as long as people don't use it as a means to fight and don't shove it in my face and tell me to accept a God. Gods, in my opinion, are not a being as much as an ideal, that ideal being the fear of the unknown. You aren't praying to a nonexistent entity as much as you are making yourself feel better about the fact that we don't know a lot of things and most people find that religion can fill that gap and keep their brains away from it. And I think that that is perfectly fine. If it gets you to sleep at night, then I don't care. I'm not intolerant of any religion just because I find Gods to be ideals and I find most religious texts to be lessons to live by. At least, Christianity I feel that way. The Koran, if it were updated, would not produce such radicals as it does. But as it stands, it still has good lessons and Muslims are good when it comes to charity and helping the poor. But otherwise women are treated poorly and everything about being a martyr needs to be updated.
  14. Wtf. Everything has always been like this. Any terrorist would have to be an idiot to attack right now, seeing as there is so much focus on whether or not being a Muslim makes you terrorist and we are in the process of withdrawing troops from the Middle East. What do they care? If they attack right now they are going to continue the anti-Muslim sentiments that bin Laden wants, and the culture war heats up. Why would the terrorists care if all Muslims are considered terrorists when that just makes scare tactics even better. When you can't trust the Muslims within American society, society tends to get screwy, opening chasms. And you can't tell me that there will be no repercussions for the anti-Muslim sentiments going on. As said, people are being racist, people are trying to kill Muslims, people are wanting to burn the Koran come 9/11. This is only making the situation worse and showing everyone else in the world that America is pretty much at the same level of the people they consider heathens, killers, and use religion as a means to kill.
  15. Because they're so fixated on their hatred that they don't know that there actually IS a memorial being erected inside of this "mosque," and there's a place for people of all faiths to worship there. The people obsessing about Muslims "celebrating" just want a culture war, which is exactly what bin Laden wants. The neo-cons have been beating this drum forever. Count me out of your wars, I'm tired of it. When we bomb Iran, and there's a lot of evidence pointing to the fact that either we or Israel will, they will use this as an example of why we should do it. And if Israel does it without us, we still would have given them the green light. FOX trying to bring in Iran out of nowhere..as usual. Never mind the fact that Iran is one of the few nations--both Western and Middle Eastern--that commemorated 9/11 and had candle light vigils. OK, I never heard that a memorial would be inside the culture center. Thanks for that. And let me say that despite the fact I am a conservative and FOX is a conservative news channel, I think that most of them are idiots and wouldn't know proper journalism if it hit them in the face. I just watch the nightly world news anymore, because it's just reading the headlines, minus all the idiotic debates and all the stupid guests. As I said before, I can respect my differences with conservatives--whatever that word means anymore--just not with Republicans or Fox News Zombies (which more or less describes the Tea Party and current Republican party). And let's just talk about offensive for a second while we're on the note of Fox News. Why isn't there mass outcry over Glenn Beck speaking where MLK gave his I Have a Dream speech on the anniversary? Talk about offensive, that's as offensive as you can get. The theme of the rally is 'restoring honor,' which can only be interpreted as a call to get the half-black man out of the White House. Jim Crow technically ended forty-five years ago, and no one wants to harp on the injustices of the past. But we have a right to use the anniversary of the I Have a Dream speech to look back and remember the way things were and what it took to change them. Instead, we are treated to a Glenn Beck rally at the site of the great speech that will be headlined by Sarah Palin. Sarah Palin recently defended a radio shock jock's repeated use of the word 'ni66er' by saying she shouldn't apologize but 'reload.' Sarah Palin is a complete idiot. Glenn Beck, I'll just give my opinion, is a crazy guy. But he does have some really good ideas, a lot of his ideas are convoluted and such, but they are very good. He did have one of MLK's family members on the show a couple days ago. I can't say what happened about it, but I don't think too many people disapprove. I personally know one of my teachers is going to his speech. Some of the people who disapprove though did send death threats to Beck. More in the news: A drunk goes into a Mosque, yells slurs and pees on the rug. A man gets in a NY taxi, asks the driver if he's Muslim, the driver replies "yes", and is viciously stabbed. 9/11 is coming, and I think something big's about to happen. Something really big. America is going downhill faster than you can see. Glen Beck is the antichrist! Don't listen to him lest you follow him to hell! The Muslim's vs. Christians will escalate and Jesus will appear in the middle east to start the rapture! IT'S ARMAGEDDON!
  16. Agreed his CG work is amazing. I loved Flower Warfare. I wish there were more Youtube channels dedicated to CG and much more intricate camera work and such. Sometimes his stuff looks like it is a clip from an actual movie. He's fun to watch.

Sophomore year at high school starts Wednesday. I'm excited for my Mass Media courses. Otherwise, nothing too exciting.

I have a job. I just haven't worked in three months because the place has been so dead. Despite the fact I could work every day because it's summer... I have sent in apps everywhere and had an interview with a guy at Perkins about a month ago. He told me I would get some form of job in the next week and never heard back. I just had an interview at Sears today but they are expecting me to work a ridiculous amount of days when I also have to worry about school. If I get a second interview I'm going to talk about that. I am hoping to get a seasonal cashier job at a costume store. By then my job as cashier at the candy store should open up since the holidays are coming and I should be able to do some seasonal work through november and til' Christmas. Then I'd worry about a job unless my boss actually gives me some hours...Three months and I worked on day.....RAGE!

Interestingly enough, I believe it was you that started the original "How to get a girlfriend" thread. Or did you juts get credit after the roll back? I believe I just lol'ed a little. I agree. I'd rather kiss someone who actually turns out to be someone more than just a two week interest as my first. I'm 16 too, and despite the fact I guess kissing a girl would be nice for the record, it wouldn't be fun when the next day she dumps me because I have to work a couple days a week. I hate girls that won't date you because you work all the time and wouldn't have enough time for them. On the plus side, the time I have with you I'll have money...
  21. I still have to complain, why aren't these people, these patriots against the cultural center, standing outside with bad things to say about Muslims, not outside ground zero, complaining that we don't have a freaking memorial to the people who died? If we are so fixated on 9/11 and how bad it was and everything, why aren't we getting the government to erect a memorial? I may sound bad saying this, and I don't mean to disrespect anyone, but I think a lot of people are using 9/11 as a reason to hate Muslims. That's why they don't remember the people who died, they just remember that Muslims did it. Because you never hear about the fact that people died in 9/11, we never talk about those people and their families and the survivors. No, we have to think of the Muslims that did it. It's a very simple-minded thing. One of the saddest movies I watched was in US History class in eighth grade. We watched a film, a documentary on the New York fire department. These people were following the fire department and were pretty close to the twin towers when the camera pans, the camera man says, "What is that" and then we see a plane fly low overhead and crash into the twin towers. It was actual footage. This then follows the firemen as they go inside the building as it is collapsing. You hear people splattering against the ground, you hear the screams of people burning. It was God-awful. And at the very end, the second camera man (it was two men following the firefighters) ends up dying trying to help people get out. One cameraman gets away and his best friend is left dead in the building. It literally made me cry in the middle of class because it was so awful. The whole thing was just terrible, and we see that America bands together, they mourn these people for a few days. Then we focus on the Muslims who did it over the people who died. They are forgotten and all we remember is the man who killed them all. it's disgusting. I think everyone should focus their hate on the government for after nine frickin' years not erecting some form of memorial. So the gist of this is, we focus too much on who did it and not enough on the people who suffered and died because of it. We use it as a reason to hate them, yet can't even make a memorial for the people we use as a means to throw this hate at Muslims.
  22. I agree that despite the fact I think Iron Maiden tops Metallica, Iron Maiden was terrible without Bruce [bleep]ensen. Live After Death is the single worst album in my collection because the guy who took his place can't sing worth a crap. Bruce may be old, but he is still a great singer, even live.
  23. Iron Maiden and Metallica do have a world of difference between them, but surely there has to be something about them that brings the same bunch of people to these same two bands? They're like the peanut butter and jelly of music. It's just the fact the two are heavy metal from the eighties at the same time. Metallica was the most popular metal band in America, Iron Maiden everywhere but America. While musically I've always found Metallica to be a lot more metal and Iron Maiden to be more of thinking man's metal, though some songs more so than others, just because they were the first really popular metal bands I think that's why they are compared as often as they are. And personally I do think they are the bread and butter of metal. I just hate any post eighties Metallica. Likewise, Iron Maiden has had some terrible albums as well during the nineties. And I agree a bit with Naraku on The Beatles. I like some of their stuff, but otherwise they just don't sound great. It's like the music is doing one thing and the singer another...
  24. Just gonna address a couple I've seen across the thread. Metallica- America's answer to the much more talented (in my opinion) Iron Maiden. Metallica has great stuff. The thing is, they really went downhill fast. They haven't been good in twenty years, so if we are addressing how overrated they are nowadays, I can agree. But their older stuff is some of the best metal to rock out to. Red Hot Chili Peppers- I love Red Hot Chili Peppers. They are not rock, they just are all over the place. The vocalist is really good, but I can also see how people would dislike the nonsensical lyrics. I personally think Stadium Arcadium is one of the greatest albums I've ever heard. Guns N Roses- Again, Axl Rose's scratchy vocals are a turn off for a lot of people. But musically, they are very talented. They did some amazing songs throughout their career, though once again we look at their modern career and I can see why you would say their newer stuff is overrated. Coldplay- I agree. I like Clocks and that's it. AC/DC- God awful singer+ God awful lyrics and musical arrangements. I've never liked them. Evanescence- I will fully admit this was my first rock band I really got into. When I was ten, eleven, all I listened to was jazz and eighties pop. But Evanescence became one of my favorite bands. I love the vocals, and while a lot of their songs, I see nowadays, aren't really too exciting, they were still a very talented group. Pearl Jam- I own their greatest hits album because Jeremy and Even Flow are two of my favorite songs. They had some good songs before they became more...laid back. They kind of died out as a rock band and did their own thing which doesn't appeal to me at all. But their rock is great. Personally, I would put these bands down: Linkin Park- Despite the fact I like some of their songs, I think they are just way overrated. They got mainstream and they were suddenly singing crap rock for Transformers and such. I think they had potential but went a wrong way. Green Day- Their early stuff was great. Their new stuff is god awful. Do you know your enemy is the only song I've heard from them the past year or so and I thought it was awful. If you dont like St. Anger you just dont like trash. Nothing is wrong with St. Anger. Also Iron Maiden and Metallica arent in the same league (NWOBHM and Trash). Load and ReLoad have great songs on them (Until It Sleeps, King Nothing, Fuel, The Memory Remains, Unforgiven II, Low Man's Lyric), Garage Inc is god, The Black Album is kinda commercial but nothing is wrong with it and S&M is AWESOME. I think you haven't even listened to any of those albums. I have heard Metallica from every CD including Death Magnetic. They suck. The black album is a great album, and then their later ones (Justice For All) are great as well. Garage Inc was awful and ReLoad was as well. And Metallica is America's Iron Maiden whether you deny it or not. They were the popular metal of America, while every where else in the world, Iron Maiden was the metal of choice.
