I'm not really questioning whether or not this is true, but how do you know this? I've never seen an official list of rare drops, and I seem to get daggers just about as frequently as limbs. If daggers are really their only "common rare" then what are the half keys? Oh sorry, i forgot about Runite limbs. Half keys? I have killed quite alot avansies and i have never gotten those. Anyhow my point: 1) Rune dagger - very cheap 2) Runite limbs - very cheap Half keys if dropped - is probably very rare which means ROW don't help with it so much as common rares. If they drop gems then they also drop half keys as well as dragon spears, it's a drop family. Half keys and Dragon spear is VERY rare drops. Ring of wealth seems to help MOSTLY for common rares, Jagex stated it themself even.

Aviansies drops only one common rare: Rune dagger Ring of wealth should be used for a monster that drops many or good common rares: Spiritual mage: Dragon boots Spiritual warrior: Rune longsword, kite and halberd Dark beast: Tooth halfs, Rune chainbody, Ranarr and so on. Archer ring (I): +8 Ranged attack and defence bonus ----------------WIN---------------

That makes me doubt that Abyssal whip with Rune defender is better.

No. 1.) Magic attack really is negligable vs rex, as long as it isn't -65 or some obscene number. Really, that is why I use k top. Also, if you are any good at DKS, you won't get hit by rex. Not to mention since the OP will be praying mage anyway, he can just switch to melee pro for 5 seconds to finish the lure. In addition, he very rarly hits anyways. He is incredibly inaccurate. 2.) The loss of range def is major, since he will be praying mage. 3.) Obsidian shield is cheaper. However, whether or not this matters for the OP, I don't know. As you can see, with my setup, you have 103 mage defense and 291 ranged defense, which is a great combo. In addition, the loss of prayer bonus is completely negligible, since I don't pray at all. That is like saying losings summoning defense matters, when you aren't being attacked by familiars. If you are concerned about prayer bonus, you should try out the Fally 3 shield. The +7 prayer *might* be worth the lost range defense, if one is praying mage. I have not tested it, and do not intent to. And yes, the +13 range defense is FAR SUPERIOR to the mage offense gained, and the prayer bonus gained of the BSS. In fact, try out these two shields if you don't believe me: The arcane and the spectral. See if the +30 mage defense beats out the +20 mage offense. It does. Not to mention your above post about it having +2 mage defense is quite silly, since it doesn't matter. Since he will either be praying mage 100% or close thereto, or else trying to maximize this range/mage defense, then EITHER the prayer bonus OR the mage defense matters. Not both. Spinos drain prayer points. So if you hybrid or don't use prayer, your forced to use a Black d hide or Karils top: 1) Then your prayer point is drained for +1 point for every attack that goes through (And often there is 2+ Spinos on you). This is little drain, but over time (I can last over 2 hours) it will build up. The +2 magic defence i mentioned because your saying that your not praying at all. Except the occasional hit of rex is nothing compared to the continual onslaught from the sinopyls things. +13 Ranged defence is not better than: +12 Magic attack bonus, and +3 prayer bonus. And also, spinos nad this i am not sure of, but i think spinos use melee attack when they spawn next to you.

Obsidian, 65 ranged def, 38 Crush and -12 magic attack Blessed, 73 crush, +3 prayer, 0 magic negative, and 52 range def So you rather have +13 ranged defence over: +12 magic attack bonus, +3 prayer bonus and 35 crush melee defence. Your loss. Crush - most monsters use crush as attack style because many of them have no weapon. If you unequip your own characters weapon, "Fist" attack style is CRUSH! So crush is important for when Rex gets a hit on you. However to compliment you, your equipment setup is nice for hybriding. I assume your killing Prime while you wait and telegrab?

Change shield from Crystal to Blessed spiritshield Verac's brassard: It has great prayer bonus and decent defense, that's why players use it. But it's ranged defence is not as good as the ones i mentioned Blessed spiritshield: Crystal shield degrades, which means: 1) The ranged defence is not consistent 2) It will cost you cash Also Blessed spiritshield does not have any negative bonus on magic, and gives great melee defense and...+3 prayer bonus!

I recommend you using Slayer staff casting Magic/Slayer dart. It's effective when it comes to damaging and is cheap. 35 Slayer points gives 250 Slayer/Magic dart casts! You need around 1000-2000 casts per trip. Why Guthix claws? To defeat Crashers. Claws of guthix hits more than Slayer dart, but it has a price: 1) Cast "Charge spell" now and then (Maximazing damage from 20, to 30!) 2) More runes used Why Slayer Dart? Cheap, good damage and no need to "check" if the "Charge" spell have worn off. Slayer dart is from my view way better than Claws of Guthix, but if you face a crasher then you loose. Where does crashers go to mostly? They go to fast spawn worlds, 1500+ players in them, making the spawn of Dagannoth Rex faster. So if you stay at a low spawn world, you should be good. IF you choose to use Claws of Guthix, then...: Use VOID MACE! It gives +6 Prayer bonus!

LURING/SUCIDIER Options: 1) Try your luck to get past the bosses without getting noticed. This is very tricky and high chance of getting noticed, so don't try this unless it's your last option. 2) Go to a lootshare worlds and since there are already players there, use that to your advantage and get to the spot where you kill rex. 3) Get a friend to sucidie or keep the ranged and magic boss busy while you sneak past to Rex spot. I recommend 3, then 2 and at last 1. 2 and 1 should be done when you've become experienced X-LOG - what's that? You basically shut down the Runescape window, this makes your account get logged off after less than 1.30 minute. Players use X-log because the spinos (small creatures) very often attack you, making it hard to logout. So X-log is very important. X-log safety measures: 1) Make sure your at the safe spot area 2) Pot up to good hitpoints and prayer (Over 80 Hitpoints and 60 prayer) 3) Shut down window of Runescape 4) Go to Runescape site and log back in a world of your choice X-log uses: 1) Changing worlds 2) If Dagannoth Prime accidently attacks you. He uses magic and you SHOULD pray magic all the time when your in the cave. X-log IS to use if you Dagannoth Prime (magic boss) on you and your praying magic protect. Again, it's safe to X-log if you have magic protect up when Dagannoth Prime is on you. So if you get Dagannoth Prime on you, then you know what to do. Once you X-log and re-log Prime will go back to his regular roaming area which is far away from where you safespot Rex.
