  1. The warrant of near-every LCD panel states that a few (Usually less than seven or three touching) stuck pixels is a symptom of the manufacturing process and not a defect, and therefore is not covered by the warranty. If you know of a brand that covers any stuck pixels, please let me know though.
  2. If you only have $80 to spend, get that for the OS and games. If you can afford more, get a SSD. Data transfer rate isn't the issue for speed in gaming, it's how fast you can access the data you need, and faster drives can do that better. SSDs of course are even faster, albeit Pricier.
  3. NEVER buy a monitor online, if you get a stuck pixel they won't send you a new one.
  4. If you like strategy games, Age of Empires 2 is always great. Starcraft would also probably run well.
  5. Neither computer has a true card, you'd be hard pressed to find a brand name computer with a PCIe GPU for under $800. Also the gateway is $50 cheaper.
  6. And we all know the exclusives suck on PS3.
  7. ^Sure, this thread is for discussion, you can change until the 21st. Sorry for no map this weekend, I had homework and curling (like a boss).
  8. I doubt in the quality and reliability that could be used in a coilgun. If we can't have militarized coilguns today, I highly doubt they would exist in the 1920's. You are free to try steampunk tech though.
  9. Speaking of hegemony, Rocco, are you interested in playing 'A Time for Glory'? It's starting on xmas break, so you can't say you won't have time.
  10. We need more Central players, so far it's Mather against the world.
  11. Goodluck on that portable hydroelectric plant then.
  12. Chem Weapons are allowed, but remember, troops won't all be concentrated, they will be spread along the trenches. Biological warfare is off limits though. If you try to gamebreak, it will backfire. Not to mention, coilguns require power, which requires oil or some form of fuel, which makes for big booms in the middle of war. I will write an outline backstory too, but you are free to change the history of your country. PoD is 1850. Im working on the map right now, I just can't decide if I should base it off the Victoria map, with some European provinces combined, or if I should use Dusty's map (HOI I think). Please criticize me or tell me if you think something should be changed, I've never done this before. For the reference, New Iberia is post revolution Spain
  13. I was thinking of a 4 or 5 teir land system, from 1 being fertile farm land or resource rich areas and 5 being desert or tundra. As for OP weapons, I like your idea. Moving at 1 year = 4 days makes it unlikely that we would reach atomic warfare anyways, but other creative weapons could be used. As for steamrolling, in this AH trench warfare is still the main military strategy, so advances would be slow. If it seems like Im rambling, it's because It's past midnight here and im quite tired.
  14. Laptop wise, Ive heard Asus is the best.
  15. In a custom build for this price I would go for AMD, but the Gateway is a better deal. You could buy a $50 low power video card if the HD graphics are a problem, but from experience they aren't as bad as people claim. The i3 has a higher clock, I can dig up the comparison charts but i believe every core iX beats the AMD equivalent at equal clocks.
  16. Game Begins on December 24th 12:00am. All times are GMT -6 The Final country list is here. Both maps are also below Allied Powers The Confederacy of America (Presidential Dictatorship) Mexico (Democracy) Brazil (Presidential Dictatorship) The United Kingdom (Constitutional Monarchy) -India -Free States of Africa France (Democracy) - Grim Belgium (Constitutional Monarchy) Russia (Communist State) - Rocco - Romania Australian Union (Constitutional Monarchy) Serbia (Monarchy) Luxembourg (Constitutional Monarchy) Quebec (Democracy) Central Powers United States of America (Democracy) - ICU Columbia (Democracy) Netherlands (Monarchy) Germany (Monarchy) Austria (Monarchy) Ottoman Empire (Islamic Caliphate) Scandinavia (Socialist Republic) Venezuela (Presidential Dictatorship) Union Of Central American States (Democracy) Bulgaria (Monarchy) Albania (Monarchy) Montenegro (Monarchy) Italy (Fascist State) Independent States Japanese Empire (Monarchy) - Retech China (Monarchy) Switzerland - (Monarchy) New Iberia (Socialist Republic) Siam (Monarchy) Abu Dhabi (Monarchy) Oman (Monarchy) Ethiopia (Tribal Monarchy) Switzerland (Monarchy) Peru (Presidential Dictatorship) Nepal (Monarchy) Bhutan (Monarchy) Afghanistan (Tribal Union) Chile (Presidential Dictatorship)
  17. Congrats on mod status Nex and Ross
  18. That'll be more than enough for your needs, and could even handle some light gaming.
  19. I never got the allure of apple. I shouldn't have to pay $1300 for a laptop with 2 gigs of ram, a core2 and integrated graphics. Itunes is a pile of resource hogging [cabbage], and iPods are severely overpriced for what they can do, except maybe for a jailbroken touch. Personally I would never buy a prebuilt desktop computer. You get more for less when you build it yourself. For cameras, I have a cannon, and I'm happy with it. Printer wise I honestly couldn't care less as long it prints text.
  20. I remember the first hegemony. It was the most fun hands down, at least until the space era.
  21. I was waiting for this. Intel's dual cores destroy AMD's quad cores for a living. Not only do you get a higher clock rate, you also get hyper-threading for when you are running multiple applications. Intel's processors constantly destroy AMDs processors at even clocks, and with this one you get a considerably faster clock. Assuming the most multitasking you will be doing at one time is browsing the web and playing music, the Intel Core i3 will perform far better. As for the graphics, it's Intel HD graphics, not the old GMA graphics. They will run 1080p fine and be able to max Runescape no problem.
  22. If the file isn't located in the iTunes folder, iTunes wont prompt you to delete the file. Best option would be to delete all the files you want gone from your drive, and then skip through all your music. The songs that aren't on the drive will get an ! beside them. All you have to do then is delete them.
  23. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883113142 For $50 less, you get intel core i3 at 3.06 Ghz, a 1tb hard drive and integrated wireless. Also, you don't have to deal with HP crapware.
  24. I am Spork. I'm currently inactive at the tavern, but I enjoy a good game of Hegemony.

Pirate bay has been on DHT for almost a year now, and only serves as a place to find .torrent files. You'd have to read the actual bill, but judging by the wording of the article, it specifically goes after those Chinese sites that sell knock off merchandise like fake handbags and burned movies.
