  1. Seriously, I find that disgusting. :?
  2. Those are administrative tasks. Are you an administrator?
  3. We already have numerous alternatives to it.. they're just not as cost-efficient and/or have negative byproducts. A lot of the environmentally safe energy is more cost efficient than oil and have no negative byproducts. This is a common misconception as to why we still use oil. Oil has been around and we already have is marketed, and the tools for it. We would convert to some other fuel, but then gas companies would go out of businesses, people would lose tons of jobs, common cars would be unusable, not to mention the cost of complete conversion would cost at least trillions of dollars. It's not a matter of oil running out. It's about how much our planet can take. We already have plenty of alternatives, nuclear, wind, solar, geothermal, hydroelectric, and some day cold fusion(the only, literally, unlimited energy source). Heck even Prince Harry's car is supposed to run on wine. On that note, we do have safe means of disposing of nuclear waste. They ship the used nonradioactive uranium to the military for use in tanks. The only non safe thing about nuclear energy is when they store radioactive materials in containers who's half life is 500,000 years. The radioactive materials half life lasting up to millions of years old.

    Nice view, eh? 8-)

They don't consider it macroing. It just sends up a red flag that you might be macroing. And since you're not moving your mouse, it's a good bet. So they just ban you.
  8. I think it's safe to say that Lenin will one day dominate and destroy human existence. :? EDIT: Seconds after writing this, there was a fire on the 4th floor room 408. A few doors down. *sigh* No, seriously.
  9. ZMI, will always be the most efficient. Until 91 at least. ;)

I did Pyramid Plunder. Went by pretty quick.
  11. Well, I'm not entirely computer literate. Which is why I was hesitate to dive into Linux. I have DSL Linux in a liveCD, and I was less than thrilled, although it ran much smoother and quicker in my opinion. It seems like a solid OS, but the fact that there is no single distribution means no customer support, which is a huge factor for me. From what I have gotten from Apple has been superb. I had broken the screen on my iPod, and shipped it in, they replaced the screen free of charge(other than shipping) even though the warranty does not cover it. I can actually call customer support and get a real person on the phone. If not, they tell me an estimated time that the net rep will be available. Live chat support. I can't say how many times this has helped me, though most where just stupid errors. The price is a bit more expensive, but if I had known the problems I would be having with Vista, I would have gone ahead and bought an iMac, or at least considered it. But I guess I really don't want to go through the trouble of selecting and downloading the specific version of Linux, or creating a "hackintosh". I did finally get the webcam to work, after thee agonizing months of the blue screen of death every other boot up. The problem? Before I even bought the computer, the company had misinstalled the driver. As a result, Windows tried to fix this. With the Windows Updates, it kept trying to reinstall the driver. The result? 118 drivers for a single webcam. And every time it booted up I guess Windows guessed as to the correct driver. It took me three months to get a single answer, which was through the Windows Error Reports. I called HP, and they said since it wasn't under the "XX" amount of days, they couldn't help me-even though I did have proof that it began the day I bought the computer. I'm like, you can't even help me or tell me the problem? I called Windows and they told me to talk to HP.

You can't just "ban" guns. If our government just came out plainly and said "No more guns.",it would be like a temperance movement. Riots against the government, bootlegging, etc. Only criminals would then have guns, and law abiding citizens would have no means of protection. While I can't justify carrying a handgun in everyday situations, you cannot justify a complete ban on guns. Certain guns should be banned, yes. We wouldn't want every average joe carrying around a flamethrower, eh? That being said, I have 5 guns in my household. With one in every major room in the place. And when I move out here soon, I will sure do the same thing, to protect my family if the time should arise.
  13. But even then, the fact that neither company can help me if I experience further problems. Apple makes the computer and the OS, so I wouldn't get two answers from two companies. But yeah, I just really didn't want to buy an entirely new computer, when this one works. Thanks for all the help.
  14. Mmmm, that's disappointing. :( But although Vista isn't as bad as most people make it out to be, it does take a lot more my RAM. The customer support is severely lacking. I tried at least 30 times to try and install my HP Webcam(built in), that wasn't installed correctly when I bought the laptop. So when I finally figure out that it was causing the blue screen the manufacturer wouldn't help me. Alright, no problem, I'll call up Microsoft and see if they could offer any help as to the problem. They said, because it was a problem with the manufacturer that they couldn't help. The Windows Problem Reports and Solutions would have been great if it actually gave me an answer within the month. Two months later, after I sent in the error, I get the message from Windows saying that it was an installation error with the driver. All that because the driver wasn't working. So just all in all, my experience with Microsoft hasn't been the greatest. I've never had a Mac, but I pretty much have the other gadgets(iPhone 3G, iPod, half my music on iTunes, etc). But since I just can't go buy the Mac OS X, I guess I'll just stick with Vista/XP. Well, is there anyway to get another copy of a liveCD version of Linux? Is it possible to get those online anymore?
  15. Alight, I'm fed up with Windows. Is there anyway I can switch my laptop over to Leopard? But when I saw the OS CD, it said it required: * Mac computer with an Intel, PowerPC G5, or PowerPC G4 (867MHz or faster) processor * 512MB of physical RAM * DVD drive for installation. Or I might just wait for Snow Leopard next year. -.-
  16. Accidentally saved it as a .gif. IDK how. :wall:
  17. Nope mine works. Try a restart, I used to get a similar problem before. :?
  18. what friends?, kids who kill themselves usually have no friends. Err? :|

  20. I understand your reasoning, but what I don't understand is why you divide by two each time. There is never an exactly even distance between two static objects. Energy is not limited to equal halves of distances.
  21. Do you mean to say that we can convert sound energy into usable electricity? Because that sounds quite interesting. I would guess it's possible, just not in that way. I looked it up again online, and it was converted into EM radiation, then back into electricity. It used the coils in the same way, but it wasn't sound energy. Ever heard of piezoelectric? Using piezoelectric plates, made out of fine quarts crystals. Their orderly atomic structure makes it possible to convert mechanical stress into sound. So turning vibrations of any kind, into usable electricity is possible.

I don't know how you manage. The only time I let my BitTorrent run overnight is when the file exceeds 1.5Gb or there are few to no seeders. Even then I usually don't let it run overnight because I normally shut my computer down to save on electricity and not have it be slow as [bleep] the next day. I've currently got DSL. The only time I remember having dial up was when we moved and back then I rarely used the internet anyways. not a big deal, i use my friends computer for things occasionally. such as, downloading TV shows/movies. I let his computer run over night. But, i use his house for XBox live and stuff to. Infact, i keep my xbox their and have my own Xbox live account for...two years now. I go their and use his net and its not a big deal, hell in fact i goto his house and hes fine with it whenever. my three closest friends have the same ISP and internet services. [hide=FRIENDS INTERNET SPEED TEST]typical mid day speed early morning speed now heres my typical internet connection speed test. [/hide] as you can see, its not slow internet for most Sprint, says it all. Never had dial up, in fact, I don't recall ever using it.
  23. Possible, but it'd be far more efficient to pass it though a different medium, such as copper. And who says you actually have to pass an electronic current though air to get wireless "electricity" at the opposite end? Using something like infrared would be possible. Even using vibration to pass along a specific point at the receiver and convert it to electricity would be possible.
