Although gold farmers and bots are at their core a bad thing, you can't deny the impact they have on a game's economy. I'm sure most people can relate to RuneScape- the bots before the RWT updates caused the supply to outweigh demand, basic economics. Thus the prices were cheaper, and are now more expensive after they are gone (more or less). I think it's fair that Blizzard won. They've made a game for people, and it has been abused and cheated in, so as far as I'm concerned it's a just victory. The people who bought it are obviously just as bad, and their accounts should be banned. Skatepank, your avatar is too large, change it please.

If there was a dangerous link in a post, I'd sooner move the whole topic quickly out of the public access, rather than try and split the topic which might take longer. There's one possible reason. And too many stickys are a bad thing, we're trying to keep them to a minimum. Every popular topic doesn't need to be sticky'd.

Exactly. To add to what Laila said- bumping is fine as long as it contributes. What isn't fine, however, is a string of twenty people pointing out the obvious bump afterwards. If it is an erroneous bump, just report it, and if it has been already, just don't reply.

If it's deep then you're probably going to have to buy a new disk.

No-one else has posted from his IP. :) The lie thing is like this: if you are recalling something that actually happened, you look slightly up and to the left if you are lying, obviously you have no actual memory of the event, so you look to the right and slightly up. It's to do with your brain remembering or creating what you're trying to say. I took Psychology at college, but I dropped it after 2 weeks. I learnt absolutely nothing new to me in those 2 weeks, so I thought that can't really be a great start to the course. Also there were lots of essays.

When you're making banners and graphics like this, it's always bad to use a filter that directly affects the look of a render. Ones like plastic wrap, find edges, graphic pen, chrome etc (those ones are photoshop), basically any 'artistic' filters, don't go well and they don't look good. Things like blurs are the way to go, but obviously don't blur something that doesn't need to be blurred. It's tempting to try and get as much out of an image as you can when you first start, I was like that too. I'll bet all the best artists here were like that. You learn over time and practise that subtle changes are much much more effective than piling on filter after filter.

It looks better. A 'c4d' is a 3d abstract shape made in a program called Cinema4D (c4d for chort). They are good for backgrounds. The first two have a good colour scheme, and a nice little border round the egde. Good job. About the banner: the render to start with is bad quality, you can see it's blurry with not much detail I don't know if you did resize it or whatever, but it's never a good idea to take a small image and make it bigger. Always go from big to small. Also the stroke around the render- it's only 1 pixel wide so you can see the jaggedness of it. Work on blending in the render with the background. Blur the egdes slightly and make a layer on top of the render and brush in some stuff, then lower the opacity and other stuff. (being quite general here since I don't know how gimp works).

JaGEx are actually a very good company to work for. In one of the British broadsheets they were on the 'Top 100 companies to work for' list. That's the unique thing about the game industry, it's all very relaxed. Come to think of it, a lot of technological companies (Google comes to mind) have really modern and lax approaches to work ethic.
