NBA - 2011-2012 Season Discussion
And it will be for a while to come. With more and more players going (or at least thinking of going) overseas to play this shows how long this will last. If we do not have a 2011 NBA season I will not be surprised at all. Yeah, I realize that :ohnoes:

Coulda used song for that video. I was surprised when I heard techno. Anyways, happy sixth birthday DF!- The official World of Warcraft thread.
I rolled a Shaman for the purpose of checking out the new Goblin starting area and the revamped Azshara. Had a blast wrecking stuff as Enhancement. Still, just about every class is pretty friendly to start out with. Just go with something you think you'll enjoy ^^ How are hunters end game? PvE wise, Marks is doing pretty good, even after the nerf to Careful Aim; Survival is going down the drain slowly but surely because of its bad scaling; and BM is going to go to hell because of the usual pet problems. BM has actually been nerfed because a bug was fixed in which pets would reset their focus back to 100 whenever their stats were changed (e.g. when trinkets proc). This accidentally nerfed Wild Hunt into oblivion. Even with this, BM and Survival are still viable for raiding, but MM is better. The recent pet stance change wreaked havoc with pet management because it was not needed. I have also heard reports of pets dieing to AoE way too often in Firelands because the AoE spells done by the trash mobs seems to circumvent the AoE dmg reduction of hunter pets. As for PvP: http://us.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/2913171659 and http://us.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/2721383344 . Yeah <_< Right now, I'd much rather roll a frost mage. I remember getting one to 40 before I quit, kiting is much more fun on a mage than on a hunter because you can afford to let the target close once in a while.- Canada
The thing that I remember about British Columbia is that the weather by the coast, near Vancouver, tends to be very mild, with temperatures above freezing point, but below 20 degrees celsius. Ethnically, I believe BC also has a visible minority of Asian people, larger than the rest of Canada because of its access to the Pacific Ocean (which also produces a hell load of precipitation, I might add, you won't be seeing sun that often.) The crime rate in BC is largely average compared to its population, maybe slightly above average, but it seems to have the highest rate of property crimes in Canada outside of the territories. [source] As for immigration policies, I am personally an immigrant to Canada myself. You are deemed eligible to become a Canadian citizen after taking a test. This test gives you "points" depending on certain things about you, such as education, languages known, and current job. If you score high enough, you are eligible to move to Canada. Once here, you have to live and stay on Canadian soil for 3+ years before applying for full citizenship. This means no travelling abroad. After that, you have to take a test on the history of Canada (and about prime ministers and other stuff), however I personally didn't have to take it, because I was a minor at the time. Then there's a ceremony where you take the oath to swear allegiance to the queen, and you are now Canadian. This is the road my parents and I had to take, so some things might be different. But honestly, if you wish to know all of this, better go to the Government of Canada's Immigration website, and stop listening to a Tip.iter whose info might be wrong!- Canada
I seriously hope the last part is a joke. <_< Anyways, Killerred covered it pretty well. Some parts of Canada are like the American Midwest, while others are like the state of New York. However, where I live there is no public transportation, so owning a car would be a good idea, unless you will live in a high density metropolitan area such as the GTA. As for knowing french, the only province where you need to know french is Quebec. Outside of it, only New Brunswick really has a major francophone population. Hell, Ontario is well known for being stingy about speaking a language other than english.- What was the worst thing you were caught doing at school?
Stuck inflated condoms on a friend of mine's locker to celebrate his birthday. Who needs balloons? The teacher that caught us just walked away, acting like nothing happened. He knew our hearts were in the right place, even though the condoms were not. Oh, and shot hoops with an open carton of milk for a basketball, with a trash can in the music room.- What are you listening to right now!?
Their older material is much, much, much better. You must check it out. Listened to what I could find from The Big Come Up; not bad. You can hear their roots much better in their original songs, however I believe that their most well known songs from their debut album (Leavin' Home and She Said, She Said) are both covers. Although I like their bluesier songs, the more Beatles-esque songs such as She Said, She Said aren't my style. I preffer their second album, personally. Listening to "Have Love, Will Travel" right now. Thickfreakness sounds like it was made in the 60's, I hear Hendrix calling through Dan's voice and guitar. Yeah, they did some covers on their first albums. Thickfreakness is golden ('Thickfreakness' and 'Set You Free'), as is Rubber Factory ('10AM Automatic', 'Stack Shot Billy', and 'Grown So Ugly' in particular plus a Kinks cover with 'Act Nice and Gentle'). Magic Potion, in my opinion, in too riff oriented and gets stale after a while. I will say that I appreciate some songs a lot more after hearing them live. I've seen them 3 times and the energy of their live show makes even the so-so songs great. 'Busted' from The Big Come Up comes to mind. [/fanboying] Just Got To Be from Magic Potion is an awesome song. I agree that the rest of the songs on that album get stale after a while. Although Your Touch's opening riff reminds me of Heartbreaker by Led Zeppelin. To make this post less off-topic, this is what I am listening to right now. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LQj--Kjn0z8- Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
Elighten us on the Voldy and Potty going mouldy and shoddy down the crumbled tower of doom. Yes, I made it sound like Peeves. I should've done it in capital letters. EDIT: feel free to add in spoiler tags, I don't mind spoiled movies. Going to go see the movie again in 20 minutes luls. I wonder why Aus gets it before America..It's usually the other way around. Kk, thought it would be something like that. Tbh, within the book, the ending was slightly fast... no epic duel between Harry and Voldemort, just two spells crashing. I preffered the Lestrange vs. Weasley fight, did that appear? Oh yeah, and about Harry coming back to life, even within the book itself, it took me three reads through the King's Cross chapter to finally understand how the hell he came back to life, so I'm not surprised it is confusing for a person who only saw the movie.- Your left hand is now a gun.

Black Keys - Tighten Up. Always wondered who the song was by, then I stumbled upon it by accident after hearing a different song on the radio that blew my mind.- Hot celebrities/models!! :) Post them here!!
We're not complaining.- High School Election
(Late) Congratulations to you! While we're still on this topic, I have to agree that High School elections tend to be popularity, joke, or candy-giving contests. Last election at my school, though, a bunch of the guys voted for the most unpopular kid there to give him a chance, because we all knew he had no chance whatsoever in winning. He won. FML.- The official World of Warcraft thread.
(necro time before it's too late) I got it even worse. Spent the past 3 weeks wiping on Magmaw now that my guild decided to raid. Before that, we had a few guildies who worked as mercenaries for other guilds. Personally, I'm 2/12 normal so far. Halfus and Magmaw down, almost had ODS and Conclave down, but 7 hours of wiping on the same boss gets to you after a while.- The official World of Warcraft thread.
Harrison Jones questline is more of a pun to Indiana Jones than Nazis (although Indy did have Nazis in it... I think...). The other main storyline is the one with the Ramkahen versus Neferset. To keep this topic alive and bursting with life, what are your favourite zones you've seen in WoW, now that you've had a taste of the new zones? Personally: 5. Hellfire Peninsula (I still love that feeling when you go through the dark portal, and you see raging infernals backed by a gigantic Pit Lord duking it out against the Alliance and Horde. Fel reavers were a nice surprise too.) 4. Uldum (Harrison Jones had me laughing till the end. I thought he was awesome, till I found out where Brann has been, and his "escort" quest) 3. Westfall (Girl without pants wanting revenge. Me want. CSI references. Me want. Hobo stew? ME WANT!) 2. Redridge (Rambo was awesome. The quests here are epic in proportion because they feel like you are on a mission) 1. Silverpine Forest (It felt like a war, and it was nice to see Sylvanas and Garrosh going out for some fresh air once in a while. Really enjoyed Sylvanas being called a [bleep], too.)- The official World of Warcraft thread.
Happened to me since patch 4.0.1. It happens because your computer can't handle loading the WoW world while it's in the background. If you look at WoW seconds before it disconnects, you would see that the textures aren't loaded up, and you can't see water.- The official World of Warcraft thread.
I have exactly 20% crit right now on my hunter. Besides agility and hit (which are givens as being good), crit is the next best thing for our only viable dps spec (Survival). Haste varies too wildly, and is only useful once you get enough to be able to hit more shots between explosive shots, and mastery only affects around 70% of our damage. Mastery only beats crit at around 44% crit, I believe. Did my first Cata raid yesterday. Recently changed guilds seeing that my old one died, and this new one only has around 7 active level 85's, however we are damn good at our specs. Did Magmaw yesterday with most of the raid pugged, and somehow defeated him. We had everyone to one side of magmaw, and the tank on his other side, then me outside dodging the pillars of fire, and then half kiting them, half killing the parasites (did the most aoe dps, aggroing all of them), we barely killed the parasites quicly enough for the next spawn, but we still beat magmaw after 8 minutes. Got top DPS even though I barely ever attacked Magmaw when he was impaled (was too busy killing parasites). I got a new pair of pants out of that, so I R HAPPY. We then failed miserably at ODS, but we only gave it three shots. Oh, and finding a leatherworker is a PAIN, spent 3 days finding a damn lwer who was willing to make me a belt, and spent a total of 4k gold on it with tips - The official World of Warcraft thread.
Prot, definitely...holy, don't think so. Ret pallies got nerfed hardcore :( My roomate does more dps as a shockadin than as ret. (He tried ret when he hit 80, went back to shockadin because its more dps spamming exorcism). :( I do 8k dps tanking with my eyes closed. Working my ass off it's like 6k as ret. Dammit blizz. If it makes you feel any better, I pull 5k dps when I go Beast Mastery (And Marks is even worse I believe). Then there's Survival.... With a Time Warp I can hit 12k dps, and that's with a crapload of mistakes. I laughed at this though: http://worldofwarcraft.tgn.tv/topic/187-best-to-worst-dps-in-pve-raid-by-numbers/ Top out of all DPS Specs: Hunters. Bottom out of all DPS Specs: Hunters. Blizz failed on focus HARD.- The official World of Warcraft thread.
Really? Oh well. :P Still get levels in dungeons and I'll just get the tabard when I pass the vendor. You can still get rep from dungeons with the Horde/Alliance factions at any level doing dungeons. Btw, I resolved my hard disk space, so now I can actually play WoW. And I have to say that Worgen really don't get much in the way of rep. Hell, I'm a worgen and I have revered with Darnassus, yet Gilneas is barely any higher than Stormwind (both at Honored, along with the other factions)- The official World of Warcraft thread.
Hard Drive Cleaner? Did that, still not enough space, and getting an external hard drive isn't an option atm. The only two pieces of software that I can find that are over 1 gb are WoW at 27.5 and iTunes at around 5 gb with music. Fortunately, I found a way to bypass it by opening the file location and playing using the button "WoW" instead of using the WoW launcher.- The official World of Warcraft thread.
Bright green skin sounds like file corruption or a graphics issue. The blue 'n white cubes are used as placeholder models on the beta server...no idea why you're seeing those. It sounds like you might indeed be suffering from file corruption. Tried running the repair tool yet? Well, funny story that just happened.... I tried logging in, and it told me that it was downloading non-critical updates, no biggie there, maybe a hotfix or something? Then I was playing around as a worgen. I was trying to buy a recipe, but it didn't allow me for some reason, so I exited game and retried. When i tried logging in again, it tells me I need to make space for 200 mb more of data <_< on my hard disk. I thought 60 gb would be enough, but nope, it aint. Looking through my programs, I only have two programs that are over 1 gb: itunes at 5 gb and WoW at (wait for it...) 1 gb. Im seriously wondering how the hell I filled up a 60 gb hard disk by just playing WoW for a bit with no other big applications. I tried deleting some stuff, but that got me reduced to around 50 mb more needed, and I couldn't delete any more items. Tried deleting one more program, and somehow my memory needed jumped up to 200 mb again. restarting reduced back to around 56 mb needed. I thought it would be some extra files or something in my WoW folder, but after deleteing some character info on some characters I dont use, and repairing, it jumped up to 80 more needed. Now I deleted everything but the bare essentials, and I still need some more space. I know this is supposed to go in tech support, but I'm thinking some WoWies could help me more. EDIT: now it's up to 106 mb needed, just from entering tip.it *sigh*. - Six years of Divine Forces
