The War Economy- a look at how the PVP Worlds affect us.
Very well written.

Longsword Versus Scimitar
Now how do you mean that by? It's pretty much a low level knockout weapon. Despite how many people believe that the dragon dagger is the god among dragon weapons, I've found the dragon longsword to be more accurate. Chances are if you're using either weapon for player killing, you're not too high of a level. (Most higher levels use godswords or abyssal whips.) The dragon longsword is a perfectly find knockout weapon, packing a surprisingly hard punch.

Magic, more of a secondary?
I was just browsing through some threads and of course people will talk about the "underrated" magic skill. The main arguement against it is that with dragonhide a meleer could easily devastate a mage, which makes me think that the magic skill has evolved to something more that a frontline skill. When you pk, do you take one, two, or three styles of combat. I know many friends that tend to take two, the most popular being melee and magic or ranged and magic. Just thinking like this, do you believe that magic is more of a secondary support skill, meant to exploit the weakness of an opponent by using two sides of the triangle, or used as a single skill, by using (most likely) ancients to their full potential. Discuss (P.S. I would add more examples but I have to go to bed right now.)

if you could put me down as 7x that would be nice, as I may try to get 70 runecrafting soon, and I'm sure this would be nice.

Anti Wannabe Mods
This has been bugging me for some time, but around most forums I've seen, people seem to flame those who try to maintain a form of order. As most people know, Moderators aren't on 24/7 and they can't get to every thread, so when a normal poster explains why the thread is in the wrong location or when it might get locked, they're instantly dubbed a wannabe mod and are flamed to the ends of the earth. I used to shrug this off, but it's now starting to bug me when people say "+1, this thread is so locked" and no one seems to care, but when they give an adequate reason, all hell breaks loose. What I fear is that, if real life were anything like this, a citizens arrest would just be laughed at, more than it is now. [/Rant]

No skulls in PvP
In the middle of combat, if it lasts for over 15 minutes, the person could lose their skull.

The Leviathan + ICYENE cape
I love the idea of the leviathan and a quest, but I feel that the slayer level is a bit high, and that the drops are underrated. Not only that, but while I like the idea of a belt slot, that is just amazingly overpowered. The max hit one would cause my friend to hit 60s every four hits on any creature? That just seems unbalanced.

udpate frequency
Well to be honest I miss it. One of the reasons I came back to this game was because it was constantly updating and I couldn't just beat it in a week or two and be done with it. Updates are still coming and they're good quality so I'm staying, just with less thrill.

Runners and Teleporters.
Actually, if you think about it, your opponent was the smarter combatant. He came prepared to fight to the near death and leave, while you came to fish to the death. That means that he has a chance to either win something, or lose nothing. You however, risked everything to win something. That means that in this scenario, he was the better combatant.

Spell removed?
Along with this they messed up high alchemy, not there's only a slight space in the top right corner where you can click the spell and the item without having to move the mouse.

AGS Sucks
Actually, while we're argueing about this, why not argue that having BOTH is an infinity better scenerio. I've had every godsword, and I can say that the Saradomin Godsword has been better for tasks such as waterfiends, where prayer is necessary. Some tasks, like Greater Demons, Armadyl Godsword is much better. With a Bunyip, even I don't need food, and I don't have the best stats you can have. So you can't say that the Saradomin Godsword wins in all other scenerios, because it's only useful where you use food or prayer. While this may cover a large area, the Armadyl Godsword easily covers areas where you'd rather hit hard (PVP) or don't need food (Easier Slayer Tasks).

white dragon?
Ugh, for some reason I believe that the Dragonkin from one of the Bob the cat quest were white? Can anyone confirm this?

What drives our Economy
While I'm absolutely thrilled of the responses I've had to my topic, I would be even more so if I could have some opinions on the questions I stated at the end of my article. If you answered them in a non-direct way, I must have missed it.

What drives our Economy
Well it practically did, if you notice, every stride that it takes is just bigger and bigger. At one point essence was almost the same as a nature rune at 200 gp each. Yikes.

What drives our Economy
The RuneScape economy is composed of mainly two parts, combat and noncombat. These resources are both interconnectedly gathered by combat persons and noncombat persons, known to be "skillers." Now, as almost anyone who pays attention to the market can tell, the prices are inflating and deflating at many ranges. The Armadyl Godsword, (One of my main examples) has gone upwards about 7m gold pieces after plummeting to almost 50% of its original value. I feel the economy is being controlled by two mains factors shown below. This, if anything, or more of my two cents, rather than a convincing essay used to tell what to do and what not to do. Go With The Flow In case you haven't noticed, don't you tend to sell things when they're going down, and buy when they're going up? Sure, this seems like the basics of all merchanting, but it also causes extreme price inflation and deflation. Take the Saradomin Godsword. I was unlucky enough to have purchased mine before its drop and I was quite happy with it. It was staying within one or two million of the price I bought it for, and I was content with that. However as soon as I saw it drop under four million of it's "average" price, I noticed everybody starting to sell it. The problem when this happens is that because everyone's selling it, they need to sell it for lower. This means the minimum trading option gets spammed, and the price deflates to what can be 50% of it's original value. Of course, as soon as this happens, people see that it was gone down as low as it will go, and people will buy it for as much as they can, hopeing it's going to go back up. This causes mass inflation, and the item sores backs up to 75-125% of its original value. Lately, however, it hasn't been so lucky with the inflations. As anyone who owns, or watches the Godsword market knows, Godswords are worth maybe a third of what they were awhile ago. Now, you may start to have a defensive that because of all the people that go to Godwars, more hilts etc. are brought into the game and that lowers the price. Well while that might happen, at the same time more people are getting more money. This means that ones who may not be able to afford a Godsword now can. This would average itself at and cause little to no price in/deflation. Some argue that it's the rich that get richer, but I know that you don't have to be rich to get rich. Skilling Downhill Ahh skilling, one of my favorite activities. The problem with skillers, such as myself and many others, is that we don't always care that we get the best price. I know that if I needed the money - for whatever reason - I would gladly sell at average or even sometimes at minimum price just to get that money. This is the fatal habit that has caused uncut onyxes to cost more than a ring of stone, berserker necklace, and regeneration bracelet combined. Now, doesn't that sound a bit extreme? Well the problem with this aspect of skilling is that it can, in some way, benefit some skills. Fishing and cooking have lost their relationship, as cooking is now only useful if you want 99 in it. I have 80 cooking, and haven't trained it since I had around 80 fishing (99 now.) What I did is I gladly sold my monkfish for anywhere between 312 gp and 389 gp. I was able to get most of my fletching done when making it was still very profitable (60,000 coins to the 1,000 yew longbows if I remember correctly.) And finished when I barely made 10,000 coins per 1,000 bows. Now, with yew logs at an outrageous 444coins each soon fletching will become obsolete, in that particular way. Other skills to have met the greater part of the guillotine are smithing, firemaking (duh), and herblore. EDIT: Not trying to gather people to chance the market or anything, just giving my two cents about my opinion of the economy. To sum up my brief article, I would like to pose these questions: What do you think players should do to confront these issues? Are these issues even confrontable? Which does a player care more about, the item they want to go down or the item they have to go up?

The Wraith cause people to fight one another
One thing I can say, however, is that even a small team can hold off most crashers. Me (80 attack 80 strength) and one of my friends (82 attack 90 strength) bring halberds and longsword/kiteshields with us. We do this because if we get crashed, all we have to do is both pot and we can easily still get the kill. We, as level 112 and 114, have held off level 134+s with Ice Titans on their side. It's all in teamwork.

Circus Info
Heh, I just found out how to get ringmaster for every event, and it works ~80% of the time. Basically, you have to completely ignore the audience Start with doing emotes until it says they don't count for points anymore Then simply alternate between the level 99 events. If you make 9/10 or 10/10 of the 99 as a success (Which I can do with 66 agility, 86 magic, and 80 ranged), viola, ringmaster. EDIT: Also, from what I know, magic armor and ranged armor DO helps with the events. I also used bronze arrows 10 times.

The Runecrafting Guild-The Great Orb Project + Tab RC times
As soon as I saw the omni staff, I was wondering if you were allowed to have two. I know you can get an omni talisman if you get one then drop one, but does the same concept work with the staves?

Haluned. Elf of the ~Past~
Could this mean that we can enter Pirffidanas (However one would spell it) in the past, but are not allowed in the present?
