But then again, I trust that you don't deliberately make money wasting mistakes coughpurplepartyhatcough I sold the partyhat for profit, that was the only reason I bought it. That generally is the result when an item's considered JUNK after it's been dumped. They'll rise before they hit 20M. More and more are buying them everyday, now.

Cheers. I'm to tired to write up a decent explaination of what it does. I'm planning on buying 99 prayer sometime next week or the week after (When bones reach the price I want). I don't have my own altar so this'll be handy if you do get alot of people. For the people that don't know what it is, if someone needs to use something in someones POH and they don't want to go through the RSOF (Yes, it's that bad) they can use this to search for it. Or, atleast that's what I understand of it.

No it isn't. This is what a merchant clan is today: It is run by one or many leaders, usually rich. The leaders order all their members in the cc to buy out an item. All the members start buying as much as item x as they can at max price. After the price starts rising, the clan chat goes crazy with people screaming "dump now everyone!!!" or "wait you ****ing idiots, don't dump." This goes on for x amount of days until everyone gets so nervous they dump item x way too early. Suddenly the price plummets: very few people make profit, and many, many people lose money. The leaders leave the clan oblivious to the true dumping price of item x on purpose... so they can make a profit quickly and move on to the next item. After a round of item x manipulation, a few people quit out of frustration and a few more suckers join the clan, only to be scammed the next round. It's a cycle, over and over. The theory that is suggested would involve a merchant clan that may not exist: One whose members have 100% loyalty and are extremely rich (in order to buy out ALL of item x), and don't panic like little school children when prices start to rise. What you say about the chat going crazy is wrong. Unless the channel's extremely unorganised then this doesn't happen. I know from personal experience with leading a/some channel(s) with some friends that if you run it correctly, that kind of thing doesn't happen. If an item's correctly bought out, then you'll find no problems in people worrying. People generally don't dump until told so by channel staff (Talking about IRC) as it could result in them being booted from the channel. People will only lose money if they act stupidly when an item's being dumped. (If they're in on the dump late, they put there items in at min to sell faster, whereas, they could sell it for alot more). So yes, it's no cycle over and over again if the leaders of your group actually know what they're doing. You may have had a somewhat bad experience with one or two channels, but not all of them are the same. :|

Right, lets get things straight. Firstly, I'm not a "noob". Secondly, I didn't lose 10M. Thirdly, I'm not your son, talking in such a manner that you feel you're over me makes you look stupid. Now, before you go quoting me saying I will lose 10 million let me tell you something. Claws, in a few days will start rising again. It may even be a week, I'm not so sure. But, I won't lose ANY money on them. Myself, and four others that I know all purchased a pair of claws today. And, some of their friends bought claws to. Also, if I decide to buy an item, why the hell would you call me a noob because of that? It was MY decision.

One of the biggest problems Channel staff have to face and try and get rid of are that type of person. This type of person is also a problem that would stop your theory, this, and of course the limits. :lol:

Mining in Varrock, although a very faint memory at this stage but it was just so great. I was new to RuneScape and had my music on, can't quite remember the name of the song but whenever it comes on I just get that feeling. I heard it again the other day, and the noise that you hear when you're in the mine, the very short sound. It was all just so great.

In my opinion there's far to many posts on Gen discussion about Merchants and manipulating and the items they manipulate. On Topic: Your theory wouldn't work as you want it, as there's limits on pretty much everything. Compfreak, it's rather easy if you have the right number of members to buy out items with 100/4h limits. (Don't quote me saying it's not, as I know you probably will. I'm going on personal experience with buying out items with my members.)

Pretty much this. But, again, I wouldn't consider you maxed. You got 99 attack and strength, that's all I'll rate you on. (Yes, 5/10 for those.) The only real achievement here is that you got 99 Attack. Not that you're "Maxed". You're on your way to getting maxed with 75 defence.

Not. They sell for 3m with junk, and d stone (very risk for the buyer) for 1m without junk. I'd guess they'll hit, at the VERY least, 600k+. The only way they are coming into the game is from players making them for 1.2m. :| NOT. As redeyed6 said, once they reach the price that Advisor Ghrim pays for them, they'll fluctuate around that price. Why would you pay 3M for the item that's at the same price in trade that you get from Advisor Ghrim?

EDIT: Genius. I think it's perfectly fine, in my opinion. The Ge's there for everyone to use. I, Myself had running with some others the largest private merchanting channel. We had such a buying power that say, we set the item as Dharok's sets in seconds those would be unbuyable. Usually holding for 1-2 weeks gaining make profit per day, it was just great. Others complain that we're ruining RuneScape and conning others out of money, but we're not. And, when the dumps set (As you said) said item, in this example, Dharok's sets would now be unsellable. And be considered junk until it's reached it's normal price. You also said that some items become junk for 1 month to a year. How so? 99% of items are only junk until they reach the price they were at before they were bought out, and, even then you can expect that item to rise again because of another channel. I've never reallly seen any items be unsellable for 1month, let alone a year. I've lost friends because of what I do, just because they don't agree with it. I couldn't care, it's what I do and the people who tell me not to just get removed/ignored.

Jagex have advanced ways of seeing if people are autoing. They won't just look at a report that shows you not talking to anyone and decide to ban you for 10 days. Your friend probably was autoing. I can tell you now, my friends weren't autoing. There's more than 10 people now, that I know of, that have all gotten 10 day bans, at the same time and for the same reason. When they did nothing.

10/10, may I ask the overall price? I'm currently level 50 (haven't trained it in over a year.) and am planning on either Construction (People telling me 110M+) or prayer, (90-95M which, if I decide I'll be buying next week.) Thanks. :lol:

Yes, it was good to see the end result. But now what about the people that are getting banned for autoing which they didn't do? I know of 4 people who got 10 day bans for autoing, and know of someone else that has 5 friends in the same situation. What's going on? :wall:

It's not that easy for everyone. :( I only once lost all of my wealth, when I was a f2per. It was a a few hundred million from merchanting. I was msg'd by a Scaper' called Queenofcrazy (Still remember the name) who asked me if I was selling something (I was known by a few people from trading, but never met this person) and of course I logged off, attempted to hop world and I tried logging in and I couldn't. The person was on my account and traded away everything I had. I didn't quite quit, but I took small breaks and soon after I got members. If it was ever to happen again I'd certainly cut down on playing and most probably go f2p.

Yeah same here.Three of my friends have, and i have been also hearing about people getting bans for autoing lately. Yup, Jagex really messed up somewhere. And musky, it says on the post from the J Mod that people that were banned for 3-4 hours get a free month (HAHAHA!) Friend had his appeal denied after appealing the 10 day ban for autoing, which he didn't do. Stupid Jagex. :| EDIT: 500th Post. ;)
