  1. Indeed, Will_H. Dungeoneering detracts from my gaming experience because there's so many benefits to be had from training it to a high level...But the skill itself and the method you require is so boring it makes it horrible. I'd rather train Firemaking or Runecrafting over it, any day. Fix DG Jagex!
  2. Don't you mean it's better to offer greater rewards to your players (Like a Bonus XP Weekend!) like the games that came ahead of RuneScape? You know, buying your position. Funny that you should say this in a recent thread: Do you hear yourself talking?
  3. It wouldn't be the first time something like that was overlooked. Adding the colour to the right-click option shouldn't have to be the method of fixing it, either. Colours should be as different as possible. I.e. no Red, Green, etc. together. [/rant]
  4. I'm colour blind, I thought there was more. Was hoping it wasn't an important part of the quest, but just a graphical addition.
  5. Sorry, but can someone please tell me how many different colours of smoke are in this picture?
  6. I hate drunk people. I also hate people who walk too slow when they're in-front of me in a crowded area (I.e. Dublin city centre), pisses me right off to the point where I want to repeatedly hit them in the head.
  7. I don't have any resolutions. Live life as it comes. NYE consisted of work then led to alcohol being my victim for the rest of the night.
  8. Still have them every day. :)
  9. Oh I completely understand, but looking forward to being one of the first clans to achieve a Tier 7 Citadel was motivation enough. Offering a reward for keeping at it for the last 6 months on a weekly basis and putting in so many hours made everyone want to work ever harder. I know it may not be fair, but if I wasn't in a clan I would still disagree with them putting up this "Trophy" for those to achieve T7 in January and then removing it because people complained. It shows those clans that did what was required on a weekly basis earned their their reward. I know, it still won't be very common but it was a good incentive for those that put in the time. Indeed, it would have changed if there was more time and notice given for most clans. We were cooperative and coordinated our efforts. A small clan compared to the others.
  10. Well I don't think in-game benefits would be at all suitable, after all anyone could have just joined for the benefits alone. This is supposed to bring about strong community-work from a clan; not bandwagoners wanting in on the new shit. And I'm not pissed about not getting anything special, it was just a nice gesture. It gave us something to look forward to for the effort we put in as a clan and brought everyone together for the final big push. Now it's just another week, really. It's still a nice reward, but if it's available to all it loses a lot of interest.
  11. While I can understand why they removed the time frame to get it done in, I think clans who achieve it this month should get something. People who are too lazy and nag at every update to be made easier or available are becoming too common. My clan which consists of around 150 people have put in a lot of effort to stay with the 400+ member clans. We've been lucky enough to have probably 100 people cap each week and it has taken a lot of time to ensure everyone puts in the effort. This Vexillum would have been a great reward for the hard work in keeping up with other clans, but nope. Our feedback is important when it comes to things like this, but offering bonuses for membership cards and even a Golden Scythe for people 20 RuneFest attendees, etc. our opinions and feedback isn't wanted.
  12. Thank you all for your help, I had been doing Mage + a bit of Melee and probably getting two runs out of an invent. After reading your post, Quyneax, I managed to get far more runs out of it. But I was falling short on health, which I had to bring Brew + Rocktail to heal. Did it for a few hours today, gave up after a while. Rubbish loot! :(
  13. I think that would be the best year yet, allowing further years to be even better.
  14. Still setting up an invent, getting information from many sources. A lot of contradictory information, at that. Northside 4 life, Tim. Are you from Dublin?
  15. Okay, thanks guys. I've bought a staff. But what armour should I bring? How many pieces of food, what kind of potions (Amount, also please!). Every little helps, I'm really not used to this kind of thing.
  16. Bring a Polypore staff, and cast what spell?
  17. Hi, I'm really interested in doing some Barrows runes while the bonuses are in effect, but I'm afraid I'm completely lost on what I should bring! I'm not too fond of combat anymore, so I don't really have much equipment. I have no Chaotic items. I have no RFD gloves. I don't have a Fire Cape. Cash-wise I have around 23M (Money stuck in a Partyhat, sadly.). On the up-side, I have 99 Prayer & 99 Herblore.. Attack Level: 86 Strength Level: 96 Defence Level: 80 Magic Level: 99 Ranged Level: 73 Constitution: 89 Summoning: 73 Any setup ideas would be very much welcomed; I am a newb at this, as stated already. Thanks in advance! (I have browsed at other guides/threads, but they contain gear and stuff which I can't access! And I'm no use at finding alternates) -Carl
  18. If you want it as fast as possible, you do the best Trees as possible (Normal & Fruit). Do Watermelons (Plant Nasturtium flowers also, to ensure they grow) and the best Herbs possible. I did 50-99 Farming in 60 days, 70-80 in 20 days is just crazy. Also do Livid Farm (As stated above) -- Just farm. Don't do anything else if you want 80 efficiently. So Livid Farm -> Herb/Watermelon Runs -> Tree runs twice daily, incl. Calquat. Good luck! Worry about making money once you hit 80, that is, if you want it ASAP.
  19. Rather then it begs to question if they're even a regular player? Surely anyone who logs in on a weekly basis and spends time in-game (For the problems to matter), will be aware of bots and people complaining. Even frequenting the Tip.It forums can give one that information. I really have to disagree with you on this one, Jonanananans. Jagex as a company shouldn't have to justify removing a players volunteer position and then make a News post/Forum post regarding it. That's just crazy. The voluntteer knew what they were doing an what the effect would be. It's not Jagex's concern if players choose to get angry. They shouldn't have to tip-toe around and make sure everything is justified. There's a place for Moderators to voice their opinions. It's in the forum rules, also, that players can't create threads that highlight another player (Or something along those lines...) - so there is reason for them posts being removed. Wasn't quite sure what that quote was about, but after visiting the thread and reading it, it does make sense. I don't see it as them being in denial, but rather them saying they will deal with it. There's no doubting that bots aren't as rampant as they were pre-whenever-the-nuke-was, and I think we can all agree on that. I don't see that post by Timbo being anything more than that or trying to downplay it. I'm not going to argue and say that bots are completely gone, that will never happen. But they have done a good job at stopping most of it.
  20. I must ask, Helm_Lardar, but what did we learn from that video? That's the thing I've always been wondering. What exactly did people find out from watching it? Was it that people actually realised there was bots and Real World-Trading websites being advertised en masse all across RuneScape? That Jagex were finding it very hard to tackle all of these problems? I honestly don't think the average RuneScape player (Pretty much everyone who has logged in within the past year) find out something they didn't already know. This was just an excuse for people to [bleep] and moan even more, because it was said by a "Volunteer". If that video was a "wake-up call", some people need to get their heads checked...Because I don't know what RuneScape they've been playing, but it hasn't been the same one that I have been playing. I doubt their votes took a hit, the other games exceeded in votes due to offering their players real rewards in-game (Which would be on the same level as a Double-XP weekend for RuneScape). We were offered nothing but a "Thank you", which is fine in itself. Certainly more interesting things happened throughout the year than an attention-seeking episode on YouTube/RSOF. You might not like it, but the video certainly *did* have an enormous influence on this year considering it was just filmed by a player. As you say, it was kind of an excuse to moan about Jagex and bots, but that doesn't mean it's any less significant. With the way Jagex handled this, they took a not too light blow on their reputation, at least within the forums. And tbh, I'm sure very many people were NOT aware of how serious the problem had become. They didn't check F2P worlds, and unless you frequented several of the bot hotspots regularly, you wouldn't really be aware how they're everwhere. Sorry but I just can't find any signficance of footage of RuneScape several months ago. And you mention how they handled it...Well, how else should they have handled it? It was the best way. They knew the concequences of what they were doing and what would happen, yet act surprise when it does actually happen. Or pretend to act, so people can go "OH WHOA THAT'S SO MEAN!". Manipulation at its best. I never really frequented the botting "Hot spots", nor did I often check F2P worlds unless I was specifically asked to go and deal with something. But from playing in a members world and having a friends list comprising of both F2P & P2P players, I knew what was going on. Not only that, but if they were never affected by it (Not even knowing it was a problem...) does that mean they were just jumping on the bandwagon to [bleep] some more? You would have to be living under some pretty big rock to not know what's going on around you. I've not actually seen the bots that are currently in this game, apart from screenshots and people talking about it. But I haven't seen where Jagex have tried to defend that and pretend there's still no bots. Correct me if I'm wrong, but you say they seem to be in denial or downplaying the situation...Got a link for me, perhaps? Lets all...

  22. Who is to decide what is and isn't a major update? Personal opinion? Hamtaro, we've been told by the author that this information was collaborated from different sources (Tip.It forums, RuneScape forums, and apparently in-game chats). Unless he is targeting new players to chat with about the game, then it's horribly flawed. Essentially he's applying a negative theme to the year, thus picking out particularly negative updates without focusing on the game-changing ones we've seen that have been welcomed with open arms by many. It's a thread, we're allowed to discuss anything related to the topic. I.e. The whole year. It's not an honest review if criticism isn't accepted and "OMG AD HOMINEM EVERYWHERE!". Please, try tell people in real life during a discussion that they're not allowed mention anything you've said in the past. It is relevant, and this is probably the only forum where I have seen people try and shoot down an argument with that -- it's quite pathetic, really. Also, I've ignored the last part of your post. Crocefisso, don't forget to "Read and digest" the bold parts of post #21.
  23. Very poor "Majority" to sample from, don't you think? I'm almost positive everyone replying here can get a more accurate group to sample from and call them the representative majority. And you say you're semi-active...As a F2Per? I did read fully and digest your earlier response; it's in my above quote...The replies are bolded. I had read every post in the thread, don't think trying to be a smart-ass will get you anywhere.
