  1. Once Warlords (WoW xpac) dropped I started playing that, and keeping WoW up on the 2nd monitor. I got 99 mining at serens after getting a crystal pickaxe, and than started doing rocktails w/ porters. Apparently just clicking on the screen to keep from logging when the rocktail pool was still up was enough to set off their bot detector, even though it was just me. I'm actually not that mad anymore- I knew I was only back for a short time before I played WoW once again. But it sucks more because of how Jagex handled everything than anything else. IDC if people think I actually botted or not, I didn't, I had no reason to, but if ya'll want to keep that faith in Jagex alive, feel free. Made some amazing friends here, many which I'll probably never be able to talk to again since their PM is on friends and I'm not making an account to try and get in touch with them through other means. The best thing about my time in RS was actually becoming really good friends with a few people, especially Jimi (obtaurian), who I have on FB. And having one friend from SODB get me into WoW- one of the best things to happen to me. The real life friends I now have, the yearly trips to Atlanta for Dragon-Con, the vacations, the meetups, and the gaming itself are something I do, and have, treasured. Ye, the best thing to come from RS was not in RS, but WoW. Also that little [bleep]er Squiggles. ILU.
  2. WoD Drops in 3.5 hours. So I sold all my gear, topped up MTK favor and put in 7.5m, and am doing AFK crafting now to get 4k dust. Than I'll get crystal pickaxe and AFK 99 mining, and after that probably do 99 fishing @ rocks. 527m cash. http://runetrack.com/history.php?user=Stonewall337&m1=9&d1=8&y1=2014&m2=11&d2=12&y2=2014 Stat progression. Lower than reality since I came back late august, but fairly close. (I had 1 div before.)
  3. So do you need 115 dg to slay eddemu? Looks like but not sure.,
  4. Again this doesn't contribute. But had a chat with others who used to do qbd all the time and they all moved on. The rune drops have been removed and the xbow drops have also been reduced. Thx for the replies, won't be doing QBD anymore when I get black dragon tasks... Sad :( The rune part is true, the other is unverified and thus untrustworthy until there is either confirmation or more data. Essentially, this is an example of confirmation bias. OP thinks it's been nerfed, and thus looks at all evidence in that light, ignoring or disregarding any which doesn't agree with said bias.
  5. 60+ araxxor kills dry now. Did like 8m xp on BXPW. Under 2 weeks til I quit for a few months.
  6. 6m xp so far, 4 crafting levels, 1 smithing and 1 construction. Going to get 88 mining, use up rest of addy bars and planks, and than just go back to slayer and pvm. Will also try and make some money off things being cheaper.
  7. *citation needed* confirmation bias is all. Sharks replaced runes, otherwise nothing has changed.
  8. Well one other issue is that "real" could be a valid subjective definition, but the issue is also that it is used denigrate and disparage. Regardless it should be easily assumed that OP was a troll or clueless about work in the "real" world anyway.
  9. Not at all. A strong subjective opinion is often of debatable value. An asinine one is simply useless. You can have a subjective stance on many issues, or definitions. If it isn't one supported by logic, good reasons, or otherwise backed up it's a poor stance to hold. Like this one. let A be the set of all activities that are not multitaskable let B be the set of things that are "real work" A = {∅,construction,sleeping,...} His logic is: ∀x(x ∈ A ↔ x ∈ B) Anyways I think the distinction is useful personally. I also think your just a bit bootyhurt about him using the term "real work". Though you could be trying to make this argument: ∀x(x ∈ A → x ∈ B) ∧ ∃x(x ∈ B ∧ x 6∈ A) 6∈ = not an element of and if this is what your saying tell me what you think needs to be added I'd write out what this means but since you've used the word logic a bunch of times now I'm sure you can figure it out for yourself  Actually, its nothing personal at all. I take online classes, and work two jobs, ~34 and ~14 hours a week each. The first is what he'd call "real" work. A small business doing anything from sales to cleaning to delivering and setting up our product. The second is what he would call "not real work." It's monitoring and keeping the location legal, and being on hand to fix things if they go wrong. It requires very little overall attention, but a high amount of knowledge to fix issues that crop up quickly, as well as to prevent them from happening in the first place. I can read/etc at that job. But that doesn't mean one is "real" and the other isn't. If anything the later tends to be more highly skilled than the former, it's simply that it isn't always in constant need. As before, an arbitrary definition of work which is based on "needing 100% concentration all the time" or w/e is stupid.

  11. It really depends on your job or the work you do. It's easy to do HITS on Mturk while AFK scaping. Some jobs you just need to be there, like security jobs, or have lots of downtime. I agree which is why I said REAL work. For example, writing a research paper for instance which requires your 100% undivided attention. There are lots of work that are not REAL work. For example, cramming an exam is not REAL work. You can probably afk runescape doing that. I agree. Filling forms, taking care of babies for instance, is not REAL work. Listening to lectures in school is NOT real work. You can afk doing that too. Security is definitely not real work. You can probably do security, afk runescape, afk 2 more games, cram for exam and take care of babies all at the same time. In fact most CEOs of the world can afk runescape cos they do not do REAL work. EDIT: Sleeping for instance is REAL work. Eating, bathing is not REAL work. You can afk runescape. Sorry, but your stance is a stupid and illogical one which you shouldn't hold, because your definition of "real" work is arbitrary and subjective, based on your personal beliefs and *feelings*. Not logic. Not an objective look at value or time or merit or anything else. What you "think" is real.
  12. Dual ASC w/ dbane is going to be almost the exact same as dw chaotic with dbane, due to equal accuracy functionally, and same damage due to the bolts. That's why you want to use OH DL darts.

  14. Me too. Oh wait, that job I can scape at. Planted palms/magics/elder tree. Have 9k leather, 5k planks, extra farming run mats, and 5k addy bars. After that might DG.
  15. Even without a large subscriber base, you still have access to some big markets, such as this forum, Reddit, and the HLF. Also remember that the point of an interview isn't to just be an entertaining read/listen, it's to make information public. Find a player that has something to say and then give them a platform. Ask them questions about all sides of the issue. Honestly, you could do a pretty good interview with that guyone kid. He seems like he has a lot that he wants to say and he's struggling to get people to take him seriously. Give him an opportunity to express his interest in legitimately competing for 200m in all skills and you'll probably have something worth reading/watching, even if that's because he makes an ass out of himself. In what world is tipit a large market? From what I can see there are like 20 people who use these boards.
  16. Not everyone is going to pay 3x the price for licit gold when illicit gold is cheaper, tho./ True, but what do players do with that illicit gold they bought? They buy either levels or items. Treasure hunteris the place to go to buy levels. With the introduction of bonus weekends, skilling outfits, and other promotions, treasure hunter has taken a good portion of the illicit gold market. In addition, it has brought people into the "real world trading" market that never would have before; who can pass up a prismania? Regarding the original topic, historically jagex only takes out the mass traders that literally make a living buying and selling gold for margins. Other then that, also historically speaking, Jagex usually only takes out players that dump 50b+ in gold. The minor trades of a few mil are far to difficult to track for it to be worth Jagex time. Their approach has been to be more proactive rather than reactive; ie, keeping it in house and making other methods easier and more attractive (bonds, solomons, keys, etc.) Are you saying people buy illicit gold and then spend illicit gold on keys? Is it not more cost-effective to just buy keys from Jagex? What is the cost of one key in real life money for buying large quantites? No I wasn't saying that at all. I was saying the opposite actually, which I obviously did not word well enough haha. Most transactions for illicit gold are kids buying small amounts; 1-100m. This gold would be used for one of two things most of the time- an item or levels/99. If it's the second option you should just go right to treasure hunter. Even if buying illicit gold is better, treasure hunter is right there easy to access, takes no research, and is fast. Add in the skilling promotions and I'd say Jagex has easily taken a huge chunk of the market that used to go to illicit sites. If they want an item, sure it may be cheaper with illicit gold, but again bonds are right there, in your face every day, fast and safe and easy. And for the players wanting small amounts (1-50m) it's not very expensive. I think Jagex has done a great job at curbing illicit gold trades. The options they made available may not be optimal, but they are safe, fast, easy, and Jagex approved. My other point is Jagex has, if anything, expanded the market of players that "real world trade". With skilling outfit promotions, and prismania, etc, players that never would have bought exp/gp have and will when these promotions come out. *citation needed*

  18. Don't bother trying. Some people don't want to be convinced, and never will. They'd prefer to be stupid on purpose, rather than accept an alternate to what they think.
  19. My car got scratched when someone backed into it when someone was parking next to it in the driveway. Keep in mind this is a beater, since I drive a fair bit, and its only worth 1500 or so. Her insurance wrote me a check for $2,900 for repairs, but I don't have to get it repaired, so I just put the check in the bank. Double what the car's worth, I'll take it. Also, up to ~370m BoB in 2 months, with 2/3 spider pieces, starting with under 15m exactly 2 months ago.
