  1. Grats, you grinded more than I did. Lol. Runescape end-game content.. you mean the content that you need to click mindlessly for hours to even unlock? Also, your point about me not knowing what content is available to me since I haven't trained is quite possibly the most moronic thing i've read today. Are you aware that the site you're posting on has guides on every piece of content in the game? Again, most of you have never played WoW, therefore your opinions are meaningless. I've played both for years, and the ironic thing is that i've probably played Runescape longer than you have, I just have a life and good taste, so I've never even attempted nor wished to get 99's. Next strawman argument please. Sigh...First rule of the MMO: Anyone higher level then you has no life, anyone lower level is a noob. You are the quintessential example for people who believe this rule. Just because someone is high level doesn't mean they grind for hours....its called efficiency. I could get 99 in most skills before the average scaper got 85/90. And I see you couldn't counter my argument, so you resorted to just skipping over it with what, I can only assume, was supposed to be an insult. Lets also not forget that the target audience for RS is adults. I graduated valedictorian, regularly read several hundred pages a day, and work a full time job. Its not hard to be good at a game and still have a life. As well, I've played WoW. Granted, it wasn't for as long as RS, but I didn't want to relearn everything, and I hated not having the community I have with my clan, as well as skype friends who play RS. That was probably the biggest factor.
  2. I'm not trying to convince anyone of anything. I already know Runescape fanboys think Runescape is a great game, i'm just stating the actual facts. And I already explained why i'm still a part of this community. GG. (The actual term is GG btw, Gf is what 12 year olds who play Runescape say). There are also certain humans that enjoy killing other humans. Next strawman argument, please. You are a [bleep]ing idiot. We aren't talking about illegal activities, if we were, your argument would have merit. In a game, where the purpose is to have fun, the deciding factor of what is a GOOD (EG: Fun) game is SUBJECTIVE. If you enjoy the game, its a GOOD game. I hate idiots who use terms like "straw man" when they don't know what the hell one is. (BTW: The above was a bit of an ad hominum, but I don't care. Logical falices actually work sometimes, unless you get called on them) Ok guys, from now on, do not feed the troll.
  3. So would now be a good time to consolidate my White and something else into a Blue? I have the 4 hats in my sig plus a Disk and Divine. I thought I saw an offer blue for 2 whites, but no one was biting.
  4. Cls works on corp now Obt It always worked, just not well :D
  5. Heck, I know people who play Pac-Man... If you enjoy it, its a good game.
  6. LOL. You're seriously calling WoW a grindfest compared to Runescape? Once you hit level 80 (takes about a month) WoW is pure gameplay. Raiding, Battlegrounds, Arena, etc. There's no grinding involved at all. The foundation of Runescape is xp and grinding. You can't even do quests until you reach a pre-requisite grinding amount. And crap PvP? Ya, Runescape's click-and-wait while inventory managing is so much better than WoW's reflex and rotation-based skill. Oh wait, you're a 12 year old. RS kids really shouldn't talk about other MMO's. The fact that you even brought up Silk Road is hilarious as well. (Protip: Silk Road is as much of an MMO as Maple Story and all the other awful f2p games) are you [bleep] kidding me? yes WoW is a grindfest compared to runescape. If i didn't believe it (or if i didn't have multiple level 80 friends from rl) i wouldn't have said so. What is there to do until you reach level 80... hmmm you could go find a necklace for someone (typical blizzard quest)... you could train one of your TWO skills... or you could maybe... GRIND. In runescape there are involved quests, distractions and diversions, a plethora of skills and minigames. yes in runescape you have to meet requirements for a quest. that's why the quest cape is so sought after and level 10's don't go running around with hand cannons, crystal bows, and barrows gloves. it adds a character building dynamic that other games have yet to implement . I'm not alone with praising runescape's PVP. i still cannot fathom the fact that you are actually bashing someone saying why he plays runescape over another game ON A RUNESCAPE FORUM. you're not even being discreet about it. Calling me a 12 year old? I can't even begin to believe your rudeness over a simple opinion. RS "kids". oh yes. i must be one of those because its known that runescape players tend to frequent runescape forums (and god forbid- defend their game?1?!?!). I'm not sure what silk road your "pro"fessional self has claimed to have played, but the one i played as early as '07 and the one i returned to in '09 was an epic, involved, and basically gave the same simple-minded quests as world of warcraft. my friends who played WoW actually said they thought silkroad had BETTER graphics. the theif/merch/hunter pvp system was also extremely unique and could be started (and enjoyed) as early as level 20 (forget spending "a month" for level 80 in other games) LOL. Typical Runescape kid that doesn't know what end-game content is. Once you reach 80, the actual game begins. This means raiding, heroics, battlegrounds, and arena. Pre-80 is where the quest grinding is. Your friends are either fake, or they don't know how to play the game they have subscribed to. Try again moron. Cool story, bro. You're definitely right. Your text > my picture. See, most of you morons play one game and defend it to death. Ive played several different MMO's (10 day free trial doesn't count as playing an MMO btw), including Runescape (since 2003). So before you try to argue your points, make sure you realize that you're just a Runescape fanboy, while i'm just someone that likes good games. And no, Runescape is not a good game, because it's based on clicking and grinding, while WoW is based on real-time combat. There are several downsides to WoW, but arguing that Runescape is a better game because it offers inane non-combat activities like clicking on trees, clicking on ferrets, right clicking on bandits, etc proves what an ignoramus you really are. I'll enjoy the eventual fanboy defense mechanisms. I think the fact the RS has MILLIONS of subscribers defiantly would qualify it as being a "good game" I would almost assuredly switch to another game if my main Acc got banned/hacked on RS. The "learning curve" is what I hate in almost any game, however. I'd also like to say that cost is almost completely irrelevant to me: I'd pay 20 bucks/month for RS if I had too, and the same for WoW if I switched.
  7. Chance for free PvP kills lol.
  8. Are you kidding me? Hood is easily the best second bind, you obviously haven't tried it when you notice that all the decent teams all have hoods. Lol Baxe>maul>novite spear? Did you make a typo and forget to put the 2h in front of baxe? I agree with you on neck>plate, but that's only if you never key. If you key, you rarely clear rooms so you need more defense and rarely have the opportunity to leech hp from monsters. This. 2h>hood>plate=neck=baxe, depending on how often you key and all. Personally, I'd do 2h>hood>plate>neck, although at 100 I'd bind hexhunter if I got one.
  9. Similar slash stats to whip, or a little lower IIRC whip is 82 slash, and CR is 78.
  10. [hide=LEVELS OVER WEEKEND]Levels I got over XP weekend: [/hide]
  11. If you are like me, when getting higher herblore, you probably have a few thousand special restore pots. Now that EE can heal 400, each potion has the potential of healing 400 LP. Not to mention, I have so many that I don't value these potions as being worth anything. When I need healing, and am not using claws/etc, I might just start using spec rest pots. (I might even bring 2 with me to frosties instead of a few fish)
  12. Waterfiends....yea, that's all I got. I stand corrected, yes CM would be better for fiends. I havn't done fiends in months, since I'm 99 summoning, so I didn't consider that. However, one task still doesn't change the utility CM has for slayer to a significant enough amount to make it a worthwhile purchase simply for slaying.
  13. The elite rewards kinda sadden me....Not the rewards, bonuses, etc. But just the colors. Jagex went away from the original reward colors, and made everything a sort of dark gray color. Kinda ruins a few skiller outfits when people want the looks of say, Varrock armor 3, yet still want to complete the Elite diaries.... I would PAY to have the look of varrock 2 instead of 3/4. It was SOOO much better looking.
  14. You are the kind of person I am writing an article about: Most people play RS for fun, which is fine. I take exception when people claim that THEIR WAY is better, when its not. I don't care if you slay with a DFS, just don't say its BETTER for slaying then defender. I don't care if you'd rather use CLS then CR slaying, just DON'T SAY CLS is better. Get the picture? This thread is NOT about which is "more fun" to use, rather it is about which is more efficient, and which is better at given situations. If you aren't interested in efficiency, then this thread isn't for you. If you want, just pick which ever weapon you think will be "more fun". No one can say you are wrong then, as "fun" is incredibly subjective. As for CR vs CLS at bandos, I would have to say it really depends on your off hand slot. CLS is better when using a shield, mainly solo. CR seems to be about even, if not slightly better, when duoing/FFA/Solo using a defender. And maul isn't really useful for slayer; I can't imagine a task where it would outplay a CR or even whip+defender. The most funny thing I've seen recently is a level 126 with full rune, nezzy, glory, and c maul killing frost dragons, without a familiar. I just laughed inside. x.x After using CR extensively, and nearing my 2nd chaotic, I can say there is NO chance that I will be getting CLS, unless I were to start PKing like mad, or soloing more bandos, (I enjoy both whip and GS pking, CLS and CR are just slightly different styles and tactics) So my 2nd will most likely be C'bow, or else maul, I haven't decided. I need to find out how much more boss C'bow is at TDs and DKS, since both places range is the class I use to do the most damage. (CR isn't bad vs prime, especially on task)
  15. Everyone besides stonewall needs to GTFO runescape if this isn't your reason to play it. I tried to get into WoW, but I didn't want to re-learn a whole game. Unlike RS, where learning and exploring was fun when I first started, it was no longer fun. I didn't know where things were, and it was just too much of a pain in the ass to relearn where I could get all the info, and make friends, etc. Sure, I play MW2 and halo and crap, but those are fun in and of themselves, they aren't as designed to be goal oriented as RS is. I like RS because of goals, without a goal, the game gets boring FAST.
  16. Yes, I've had effigy+claws in the same drop, friend got that +clue.
  17. The least helpful reply thus far(and yes, the TD reply is up there). They aren't the same? Sorry my bad, I always assumed they were like clues in that aspect. This is off-topic, but since when do clues have equal drop rates? I always thought they....weren't. Come to think of it, you're right. Bad example. Point being: I was under the impression that effigies had an equal drop rate (where I got that idea, idk). Apparently they don't, so in that case I'd just point to what everyone said. I'm sorry as i know this is too very much off topic, but realistically, the help and advice usually has a purpose, and more often than not, that purpose is to give help and advice to other people, but you posted on a topic about which you knew nothing about some terribly inaccurate information which you then followed up with an even more terrible example. You are representing the tip.it WEBSITE crew truly poorly on this topic, and i'd suggest having personal/confirmed knowledge about things that you do post as facts, because otherwise you'll come up looking like this again. Again, sorry if it got too much off topic. You're right. It's going too much off-topic, I'll PM with my response. As for this topic, my apologies for bad information. I'd be with XPX, Jagex expressly said that higher level monsters drop effigies more commonly.
  18. Maul is better, but then you can't use deflector+karils top, and Rapier hits ~550's easily. Not to mention, my kills are ~40 seconds each anyways.
  19. yes its amazing. (Whip is amazing as well)
  20. Yay :^_^: This mod is the one who is ALWAYS MESSING STUFF UP. Why doesn't Jagex fire him?
  21. Basically the same. (BTW I knew I'd seen that name around gielnor...)
  22. ^Hell yes it is. Epic prank is epic.
  23. Look I see Racheya!
