  2. Download VLC player and see if your videos work there
  3. I don't see how that falsifies his statements, nor make him lazy.
  4. That's a hell of a general title. Laws need to change every now and then to keep up with the times. Back then, I doubt they know half of what we know now about these 'illegal' things. Not to mention that some of these were banned for political reasons that don't exist anymore. For example, drink and smoke marijuana moderately because there doesn't seem to be any significant effects. Ban cigarettes because they cause a number of cancer. Some drugs need to remain illegal. For example, cocaine can pretty much screw up your brain that you end up being a nutcase.

  6. The only thing unions are ruining are the exploitation of the corporations. If you want an example of what the lack of union does to manufacturing industries, take a look at China. There are several documentaries on the 'net that you can watch about how the workers are being overworked etc. Not to mention the lack of safety regulations that frequently cause accidents. The problem is that without union, workers who are being exploited has no way to speak out. They'd feel alone and if they do try to argue their case, then they'd lose their job. I think you believed the media sensationalism that happened when GM closed down some factories, blaming the union for asking too much.

  11. Thread should have ended here. If you have the power to choose who can have nukes, might as well deactivate all of them.
  12. I do. I hate rain/snow. It keeps me inside. Makes my body sluggish. Figures most people would love the rain though because it does keep them inside

Prison Break would've been written down as one of the greatest series if it just stopped at season one
  17. My last post in this thread and I won't look here again, To further Flamecaller's post, Islam was nothing more than a system to unite all Arabs. Muhammad was a political genius who rode the coattails of Judaism and Christianity to create a new religion. If people would actually read up on how Islam was created, St. Gabriel somehow showed up to Muhammad and gave him messages from god. Details gets weird later on because Muhammad created an army to invade Mecca since he was ousted. Do you think the same God that sent Jesus (who Muslims also believe as a prophet) would allow another prophet to command an army? C'mon. To put that into perspective, the beginning of Islam is almost like the South Park episode on Mormons, isn't it?
  18. There are so many holes in your argument. If you constantly compare Islam and Christianity together when we're discussing Islam, then you're hiding Islam behind Christianity. and your... examples are weird. * What does homosexuality have to do with war? * Bush is not religiously driven, he's a corporate tool * Tony Blair is the biggest flip flopper and you believe he invaded because of God? No, he invaded because he's a US lackey. The thing that bothers me is this: "Now, I'm not saying Islam is any less involved in politics, but especially considering the past two hundred years of religious extremism in Ireland, you'd be a fool to say Christianity is any better than Islam in the currect situation." Umm what? Is Ireland even involved with the Middle Eastern conflict? Is Ireland's history significant to the current situation? No. Your thoughts are all over the place. :?
  19. You're right But I'm just laughing because corporations won't openly discuss sales because it's acceptance(?) by the consumers is incredibly slow. If you're comparing BR:HDDVD, one might come up on top. But once you include the sales of DVDs, then the next-gen hype just crumbles.
  20. The thing you need to understand is that Christianity plays a lot less in politics than Islam does in the Middle East. Christianity is just a tool used by politicians to get them voted in. After that, it's all about the corporations. The reason the US is in the Middle East is for the resources, not to spread Christianity, not because God said so, but because of the oil. Openly as well, it's no secret to us. In the Middle East, Islam is used extensively to get people to join terrorist groups, to get suicide bombers, because no one - no one - insults Muhammad and gets away with it. No infidel can attack the Arabic land and gets away with it. And all that propaganda jazz that (enough) Muslims eat up. I hate religion altogether (I was born a Christian but denounced that because I don't believe in Jesus), but if you're going to defend Islam, don't hide it behind Christianity because it's just not the same.
  21. Point all you want, but it's still fallacious. Which is why I said you looked stupid because that doesn't refute what I said in any way at all - which is how you acted. Looking stupid is normal you know, I just did when I called out your red herring a strawman. I'm sorry if you took that the wrong way, but I was just giving you a tip. You sound inexperienced with debates :-\ @Darkmage, I would prefer if you just send appreciation to my inbox :) It spams this thread which is sad because the threadstarter obviously put effort into it. edit: Yeah... You ignored the part directed to you. If you're going to claim something, at least argue it
  22. What does it matter? By hiding behind Christianity, does that make Islam less violent? Try not to use strawmen in arguments, it makes you look stupid Way to ignore my post
  23. Instead of giving nukes to everyone, how about just deactivating all of them? Nuclear power is great as a power resource, but it's a disgrace to use it as a weapon. Mohammad did.
  24. Question: for this game, does it need a really fast comp to play? My laptop has a geforce card, 2 gigs of ram and a 1.8 ghz c2d - is that enough to play in low settings? Another ?: my internet is 950 kbps, that's not enough is it?
  25. So wait. You don't believe research from Nielsen and prefer to hear the companies talk about their sales? Uhh...
