  1. Jagex offering a discount on membership? That's completely unthinkable! It's not like no other company ever has ever offered their product(s) for a reduced price or run a promotional offer at some point in time to attract more customers. No. Just Jagex has done that, and doing so is appparently a sign of desperation. You know, it's comments like these which lead me to believe that the real problem is that some players are, as you say, truly pathetic and will complain about anything Jagex does. I think that some people forget that Jagex is a business, and as a business they're going to do things to attract more paying customers. The fact of the matter is that some players-- quite possibly some players would would not have renewed their membership-- will take advantage of the offer, and that's always a good thing for the future of the game. Attract customers? Excuse me, but you know that to properly do that is to improve the product itself. How is a discount going to phenomenally increase membership when Runescape still constantly suffers from botting and rwt? Using methods like that is just saying you are desperate and craving for more customers. If a product was selling well, then there wouldn't be discounts will they? The price would most likely increase to meet the demand customers are willing to pay for.
  2. They're likely "doing nothing" about it. Bots are volunteers as paying customers in the same or probably greater amounts than legitimate players. Jagex is COMPLETELY aware that bots are a problem to players but aren't banning them because eliminating bots will significantly lower their income. Bots compromise a large percentage of paying customers so it would make sense for them to let them be. So in reality, it's up to Jagex if they want to take care of the bots and help out legit customers, or let the bots remain as customers so they won't lower their income. Players can only do so much to have any say because all we can do is cancel subscription and lower their income by what, 5 dollars a month? Bots on the other hand, aren't as "variety" as players are and may cancel subscription in greater amounts because a majority of bots are under the same entity. The same can be said for free to play. Bots might train their stats in free to play to be able to use it at members to save extra time and hassle on membership. A bot training to 60 wcing might start out free to play for a couple of days then convert to members to be able to cut yews at more locations. The only solution I can think of is when bots get so out of hand that customers leave Runescape until bots are forced out of business due to lack of players wanting gold, which might lower the need of gold farming. After that, it's up to Jagex to decide if they want actual players back.

    Nomad

I found Nomad to be pretty easy. Used no guides, heck not even brews/restores! Using melee with a good weapon and at least adequate stats should be enough to handle Nomad. I don't know how you can die so many times and rage to forums about it.
  4. I'm all the way at the west so I didn't feel anything. I could already imagine it though since we get so many earthquakes.
  5. And i'm not impressed. The only thing this update has really done has helped to confirm just how much I'm fed up with RS, finally feel ready to quit. Yeah this update was the final nail in the coffin. Cancelled my membership already. Jagex seems out of touch with their game and have forgotten the values they have held for years. Canceling my membership beforehand was the best decision I've ever made in this game. Don't think I'll ever be coming back to members again. I was done with Jagex months before they finally decided to sell out.
  6. I've given up on slayer because of them but that also lead me to taking a break from Runescape. Went to the main Golden Joysticks website and found Runescape in the list of "what people are voting on now." Didn't find or see League of Legends anywhere. Runescape is also the only Free-to-play game on that list. So I guess Runescape is going to win yet again. Anyone know if Golden Joysticks can withdraw awards for deceiving voters?
  7. Each generation gets lazier and lazier. When these 12 year olds see how much time and effort a lot of these things take they say "[bleep] that" and spend money on a macro bot because 1) they have the money to spend it and 2) they cant be bothered to actually do real work Because grinding skills is so much more productive than afking. I choose not to bot because of the risks that come with it. I gave up grinding ever since last year and pretty much the whole game too.
  8. Pretty much EVERYONE in the pictures we posted don't.
  9. - Kalphites (Boring, mediocre drops, crowded, large sums of cannoning) - Terror dogs (Very far, frustrating to get to, mediocre drops, time waster) - Aberants (Not too shabby but may require multiple trips since their loots aren't stackable ((besides seeds)) and hits very frequently, a big time waster) - Metals (D drops aren't profitable anymore. Very low exp, tedious, not worth it for a chance at a visage) - Warped assignments (terrible loot, tedious for constant use of crystal chimes, another time waster) - Green dragons (bots, bots and more bots) - Squahs (everybody hates them) pick whatever you see fit. I personally like the strykewyrms. Jungles drop stackable loots (some of which are sold for a little over 1k each) and deserts drop focus sights (300k loot) not very bad and their defense is considerable. Same said for fire giants.
  10. I think people are taking bonus xps too far as it should be taken for. One xp weekend is what? One time every six months? Free exp has always been a part of runescape and I don't think any methods are significantly making it easier for reaching level 99 in any skill.
  11. Because every bot has to look and act the same.
  12. You have to consider how risky this game was too. For instance, you could of lost rares when dying to a random event. @ first post: RoW is still junk. The only reason you are thinking this game is easier is because you may have more experience and levels compared to most players. There may be other people who still perceive this game as challenging. I think a majority of updates were made to make this game more tolerable. I mean, who really wants to mindlessly click on logs all day when you can simply use the x-function to do the work for you? That limits the mindless clicking and it definitely saves frustration. I once thought driving was considered hard when I first started because I didn't know how to properly steer or switching lanes perfectly. Now that I have more "experience", I could finally say driving became easier, but did it really became easier for everyone? I don't think so.
  13. orly? because I'm pretty sure almost everyone in this whole thead will agree with you.
  14. Yeah. Everytime I think, "It's 2011, hurry up with a cure for cancer already!".
  15. My brother plays that ALOT. Apparently, he got the idea from his gf who also plays LoL. I tried to get into it but since my comp lags a lot (and d/cs for no apparent reason) I ended up giving up since they actually penalize you for leaving the game even when d/cing. I think it's unfair and pretty stupid imo. I know leaving was considered a problem in DotA but giving no warnings and points for banning the account sounds a little harsh. The community is no different than anything else. When you suck at the game, people flame you for it. Another reason why newbs shouldn't play rankings.
  16. 1. People buying and selling "unids". 2. Old graphics for weapons like D long, scim, whip....Now everything looks like it's been chewed up. 3. Phats for d chains. 4. KQ and KBD hunting. 5. Random events like the mysterious box, strange plant, drunken dwarf, etc. 6. Broken Pickaxe/"axe" heads. 7. No 99 skillcapes. 8. When phats looked like 9. Santas and masks were less than 1m. 10. Barrows was the best money making. 11. Old alching graphics. 12. When Demons and dragons looked the same. 13. And :shades:
  17. Why? The changes made around that time showed that Jagex still actually cared for the game and its players. I know what they did was pretty drastic, but over time they improved things a little and most of us got used to it. I think undoing those changes was a poorer decision in all honesty. It WAS. For goodness sake, it's people who just don't know when to move on and want to complain that their game is ruined because it's changed so much that they don't want to even play. That is exactly why I voted "no" for free trading. To prevent RWT, >>massive<< bots, and scamming. All three, our most common enemies between Jagex and players alike.
  18. My friend code for Pokemon White is: 0046 4204 6703. I'll be available pretty much for the next 6 hours before I sleep.
  19. ^ I always thought IVs cannot be changed. :-? Or you might have made a mistake and meant to say EVs. Does it matter if I use EV boosts like vitamins or wings on a low level pokemon? I have a lvl 1 growlithe with a good nature, ability, and IV so would it be ok if I cap growlithe's EV to 252 in attack and speed at level 1?
  20. ^^ Wow. Sorry didnt notice the "Heart gold" you posted. #-o @ MrGreens: I might be interested in Chikorita or Cyndaquil, but is there anything you want in return?
  21. I'm having trouble finding out what EVs (effort values) are? If defeating a certain type of pokemon that has high attack, will my EV for attack go up or something? SO CONFUSING! :wall: I already know what IVs (Individual values) are. I think it basically means a pokemon's potential of having either high or low stats. Completely random, but I think Shinies always has high IVs. I have a Serperior that can breed Snivy and trade that if you want. If you have the water or fire starter, I would appreciate that too.
  22. white - red should yield 600m? So take that into addition with red - green to 180m so overall, you should end up with 780m. Not a bad deal if you ask me. That's a free divine INCLUDING a partyhat. If you're having trouble deciding, I'd say go for it.
  23. There are no "official" rare trading spots in f2p probably because the majority cannot afford them. Using the forums or the GE helps.
  24. As someone stated, making anything close to "lots of cash" means taking risks. Yeah, I know it's unfortunate but all the other good money makers out there such as frost dragons have bots which means you may have to compete with 1000s of them which is very time consuming. Don't know what else to tell you.
