  1. If I remember, the mage prayer was to protect against his minions, not him. I remember a semi-safe spot where I was only attacked by the scarab and not his cronies, so in that case, range prayer would be best (or would it be melee prayer instead?). I don't know, but I agree that this is a guide that could use some more confirmation and work (from my own past experience with the quest).
  2. I'm pretty sure that the reward screen is the same for all players, regardless of "sub-questing". If it's considered a sub-quest, the reward wouldn't be specifically in the reward screen scroll. As such, the strength is a reward for simply completing the quest...not for anything else that they might have done...meaning it was just accidentally left out, right?
  3. The interface also looks different on high def and standard def versions...a little while back I had provided new pictures of the angling of the mirrors...pictures that the guide editors never got to use. Now those pictures may be out of date, but as someone already posted, the guide is not wrong...it's people interpreting the "face" and "top" and "bottom" as something different...new pictures are definitely needed WITH compass directions. If tasked by a crew member, I'll head down there...but as I already did it once and they didn't get used, I'm not going to bother again if it's not going to be implemented right away.
  4. WOW! You went the extra mile! If it helps, I confirm that it is indeed Stomp and not Stamp (if that will save a crewbie from logging in to check it)...
  5. I would PM a crew member but I am not certain which one is best to PM, or which 1 actually has the ability to make decisions, by making a topic in a forum about the website, I am most likely to get a better response. Right...but did you read my post? Posting here is good, but bumping...PM any of the crew. It doesn't matter.
  6. Karil is my favorite. I've become somewhat of a Barrows addict, quite quickly. The rewards I saw at first as sparse have become extraordinary, all of the sudden. I'm almost speechless. My ninth trip produced my first item (other than Bolt racks, of course). My fifteenth trip provided my second item (a duplicate) and my eighteenth trip provided my third item...and my fourth. [hide=Holy...][/hide] I couldn't believe it (PRINT SCR! PRINT SCR! PRINT SCR!). I never had a Dragon med helm before. Dharok's helm made a nice compliment. I decided to make one more run before taking a break. I'm glad I did. [hide=Thank you sir, may I have another!][/hide] I almost jumped out of my chair! Woo hoo! I went for another trip, but the rewards seemed to return to normal. Oh well. I'll probably have to endure a ridiculously long drought now, but for the time being, I'm glad to revel in my rewards! What are my current Barrows rewards? I suppose I'll keep track of them, you know, for posterity! 7. I agree. Anywhere it mentions carrying one piece of thread, it might warrant a mention of carrying more, especially since it stacks...which only makes me wonder why someone wouldn't carry more if told to carry it at all...that's beside the point.
  8. No need to bump your posts. People do read it and if you don't get a response, it might be because they're not interested and bumping is...well, not something many people appreciate. ...that said, I'd recommend PMing a crew member with any suggestion like this, so they can take a better look at your work. Most of the crew is friendly and helpful and can handle suggested additions like this. I'm not saying not to post here, too...but if you're looking for a response, that would be better than bumping.
  9. Perhaps your thread ran out? Thread can usually be used over several pieces of leather, right? So, maybe it "ticked" over on you? It's speculation of course...
  10. Any Bandos videos out there on the internet? Surely someone has a video of it and it could be confirmed...
  11. any proof? haven't got him for years and the picture seems like a greater demon to me.. I would say he looks more like a dragon. Notice the dragon like snout and the dragon wings. Next time I get that event, I'll try and examine him before I leave the room. [pokemama edit: when he was introduced I think we had a dragon and got told off that he was a demon, lol. Anyone who can, please let us know what you find out.]
  12. Maybe the required items could include everything that is needed for the quest, grouped together, with the notation that they can be found during the quest. I didn't have any trouble with reading that part, but it's still a required item to finish...so I can see how people might be upset. Still...what is our world coming to that so many people don't read everything before continuing...I wonder?
  13. Just as a matter of disclosure of my own methods, I usually start at the highest level I can perform at without barely succeeding (an 80 level magic or ranged performance, a 70 level agility performance) and work my way backward...if I'm purely interested in experience (I've been helping decipher points rewards for some time now). That way, I know I get the maximum amount of experience at the highest chance of success. Then, after reaching the 10 level, I start at the highest performance, 99 and go backwards (to 90 in magic and ranged, 80 in agility). If I miss a performance I SHOULD be able to do (under my performance level), then I repeat. If I succeed at everything I should be able to do, then fail at a higher level, I repeat backward from 99.
  14. Thanks y'all. I think that's a decent range. I've actually noticed that rewards seem best in the teens (for me...in a limited sample, of course). Looks like you guys have been doing exactly what I've been looking to test.
  15. An old thread has some info: http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=770853
  16. Username: SportsGuy Location of Circus: Seers' Village Mage Event Points: 542 Ranged Event Points: 742 Agility Event Points: 839 I made several mistakes in the magic event. I missed an emote in between two performances (3 and 4), then made it up (between 4 and 5), but then did two of the same emote before one performance (before 9, wasting an emote and upsetting the audience in the process), then tried the Zombie hand result and didn't get credit because I already did ten. I wasn't paying attention. I paid better attention at the other two events. I failed quite a few performances in magic and ranged, but none in agility. You may not wish to decipher the results from me this week as a result, but I'm including the full results below, just in case. Oh, and I forgot I was going to bring emote enhancers this week...it's been a long week for me. Sigh. 17. I'm not exactly hooked on making Barrows runs, but I do enjoy the different method of training. It's not necessarily a productive way to train, but the salamander's unique attack styles means earning experience and sometimes earning levels that you don't expect. [hide=The magic of the black salamander...][/hide] I made nine trips before earning my first Barrows equipment. Three of the runs involved getting Dharok in the tunnel, which is definitely the most scary of the chest situations, but it was in fact a Dharok tunnel that led to my first item reward (other than Bolt racks, of course). [hide=Dharok lef' me a lil' somethin' somethin' since I was creepin' in his crib][/hide]I'll certainly make more trips soon. The rewards are thrilling prospects! On a different note, I "skill maxed" Woodcutting this evening at level 85. Until new content is introduced, I have nothing but a skillcape to look forward to in the skill. [hide=Skill maxing Woodcutting][/hide] It was quite a thrill to remove it completely from my statistic and goal lists! Thanks and as always, I'm flattered. I try and update as often as I have something I think is interesting enough to say!
  18. I agree. If there's a group of MechScape forums, there probably should be a FunOrb subforum...at the very least.
  19. One time is not enough data to base an argument off of. To op: Seems fairly normal to me. I seemed to have gotten more blood runes than you, but it could be due to other factors. Maybe killing bloodworms gets more blood runes? I'm going to try and kill nothing but the brothers and bloodworms one time, though I'd imagine that still really wouldn't settle it. It's probably all random.
  20. I'm not asking about the items. I'm asking about the overall drops. Not only that, but I'm just trying to get a definitive answer about how to maximize my chances at getting good rewards without wasting time. I know that the rewards for a 10k kill count don't get great rewards. I'm looking for the spot on the "curve" that it starts to level out. 50? 60? 40 kills? I think it's been established that somewhere in the 40s is really the min/max...
  21. Nobody whined. I asked a question. Why waste your time commenting if you have nothing to add? That one is a rhetorical question. It sounds like that's the confirmation I was looking for...
  22. I go at most two days without checking in...so the "loss" from the extra decimal points, I suppose, is negligible.
  23. So, it's profit then... ...not pure profit.
  24. Ah, but having worked on guides before, we all know that people writing them can make mistakes, don't we?
  25. Flax from Seers' Diary and Sand from Bert are "pure profit" because you spend no time gathering the resources yourself. Battlestaves are arguable, since you have to buy them, but can also be considered "pure profit" to an extent. You're still spending time going to get them and you still have to buy the staves.
