The Largest Contributor Wins!
Googling fansite forums back when I played RS, I'm sure. I will say that I joined this forum so that I could get smiley codes to post on zybez radio. It didn't work out particularly well in that regard. (I'm only posting because of this) What are you doing on this forum you butt why are you here and why did I not know pepsi I miss you! TNPW continue to have off topic conversations with other people in addition to playing the game. Also they will break the current trends, [bleep]ing hipster next person.

I think your advice is very helpful. They want preparation, but not answers which have been obviously memorised through rote learning. Tell her to make a spider diagram or a mind map with five or six key questions that they're likely to ask. Boil the questions down to single words, for example "Why do you want to do this course?" can be placed simply as "Course". For each question, give two or three answers, and again only place them as single words or very small phrases. Do each topic in a different, bright colour. The first draft of the diagram won't be perfect, so make a second draft (and a third or a fourth if needs be) which is tidier and contains more symbolic references alongside the words. For example, if she's interested in cell biology (for argument's sake) instead of rote learning the answer "I want to study cell biology because <blah blah blah>", place a small picture of a cell in the mind map, with two or three lines each giving a reason about why it's so interesting. You could even turn each reason into a little picture, for example "because the subject is a key area of research in healthcare and therefore it indirectly improves the quality of life for patients" could be translated into a picture of a syringe, or a red/green cross, or a patient with a happy face, or the letters "N H S" in blue. The reason "I'm considering a future career in Medicine and studying biology is a good starting subject to start with" could be translated to a picture of a stethoscope or even, quite literally, a bottle of capsules. The pictures make the diagram easier to recall while the structure of the diagram itself allows you to clearly remember the context of the answers you're giving, as well as explore how some answers have connections to other answers (read: this latter ability to cross-reference and compare what two sources are saying is a key skill in university as well). She'll have to recall the mind map in the interview and structure her sentences appropriately, but believe me the delivery will be much more organic and genuine because of it and it's a damn site easier than remembering word-for-word a good three or four A4 pages of answers. That's such an intimidating amount of work to do for an interview. It makes the prospect of an interview (something I've never done for real) seem that much more scary. Like, it was bad enough when it was "create a diagram and simplify all your responses down to a word or picture," but then you were like "then make a second draft," and that was truly frightening.

"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
You can't advanced search a specific thread to find just one author. You can search a general keyword through the search bar when it says "This topic," but good luck finding a specific post containing the word "girlfriend" in this thread through the search bar.

"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
Next to the search bar at the top of the page, there's an advanced search button. Click that, type Skull into find author, type girlfriend into what to search for, click off topic in find in forum, click display results as posts. Go to page 4. Except I think she searched just the Today thread, which I'm not sure how to do. I suppose, since it's the biggest topic in OT, you could use topics with at least 20,000 posts and 100,000 views form, but that's a little hackish and wouldn't work to search other threads, so I'm not sure of a good way to do it. Edit: Oh, she didn't. That page was just all Today thread posts. Okay.

It's Super Effective!
^Broken I was looking at some of the new pokemon from x and y on a whim, and holy shit there are some cool ones. I already liked Sylveon a lot, and then Fennekin, Pancham, Honedge, Meowtastic, Clauncher, Tyrunt, Phantump, Amaura, and Dendenne showed up and were all super awesome, plus the fairy types are all p cool, and it's actually so much better than ruby/sapphire's pokes, which is the most recent I actually played, and better than any of the other two gens except maybe the eevolutions. I know I'm a little cynical about it, but still, there's some cool stuff.

I don't get this, so I'm going to ask the pokemon people here. So I'm playing pokemon gold, and I want to get an eevee egg so I can have a low leveled Espeon. So I bred a second eevee (with a ditto I'm p sure, but it's been a while since I actually bred it), and now I have a male and female eevee. I put them in the daycare center, and went and walked around for two real life days, but they never had an egg, and whenever I looked at them, they were both "brimming with energy" which when I looked it up apparently means they won't ever have an egg. So what the hell? They're the same pokemon, and they're definitely in the same egg group, so unless there's some other rule I don't know about, I don't understand why this isn't working.

What the [bleep] is going on with RS any more? Every time I look at a thread in GD, I get confused, which is to be expected since I haven't played since before the combat rework and lots of new stuff has come out. But I was just looking at RS07's today thread, and I don't even recognize half the stuff in there! Nightmare zone? What is that even? That definitely wasn't a thing in 2007, nor at any point up until I retired. Or the agile suit, which may have been a thing, but only towards the end of my rs career, not way back when I started... This game, man.

Today...
I've never really enjoyed the Elder Scrolls games, but last night at a friend's dorm, as a joke, I started up a Skyrim account. The sole purpose was to create an incredibly dumb class to play as (I was thinking like hand-to-hand, heavy armor, sneak, armorer, and several other non-combats I wouldn't use), but it turned out there weren't any classes in that game, contrary to my experience with it. So today I booted up Oblivion and followed through on that goal, as well as picking up an arbitrary rule I had set for myself last night. I picked all the weapon/damage abilities, plus block and restoration, and any time I found a weapon that was equal to or better than my current weapon, I had to use it. I could at any time decide to drop the weapon in favor of hand to hand, which I did several times, and I augmented my damage with touch magic which was a little stronger against the scamps. It was really fun actually, though a little slow when I was taking back Kvatch/whatever city, just because I had to wait around to heal because I didn't have a powerful enough regen spell. Once I get a spell that can actually keep up with healing me though, I think I might actually enjoy the game for a little longer than I have traditionally, because I don't have to worry about carrying shit around to sell or anything, I can just go on to the next adventure. Plus I have that horse I stole so getting around isn't super slow when I can't fast travel.

"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
I guess maybe it's more of a hunch than anything, now that I really think about it. That other post was a little heat of the moment. Thinking about it, he's gotten worked up over things like this in the past, so maybe this does fit into a pattern. The biggest worry was the fact that he got so agitated about it that she had to get ahold of me and tell me she was crying about it, which doesn't exactly sound good. But I think you're right in that there aren't a whole lot of other signs that I can see from my very 3rd party position.

how many warning points do you have?
It was Aaron/Rainy_Day, wasn't it. This was way back when Jimmy was still just a wee global mod and Das was still an admin. It was Jimmy and Das.

"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
I'm worried one of my friends might be in an abusive relationship. Recently her boyfriend got extremely upset over an obvious and pretty dumb joke I made (I called him a noob in RS, and accepted his invitation to fight me irl), and she had to text me and ask me to drop it because it was becoming really serious. I know that she knows I wasn't being serious, and I assumed he was smart enough to know I wasn't, but things have spiraled out of control with it, and it worries me. The thing is, his last relationship was pretty bad for Ivan (the boyfriend), and when he came out of it, his ex turned into this incredibly psychotic ball of jealousy and rage towards Fox (my friend). It was an abusive relationship, at least emotionally, for Ivan, and it was bad. From everything I've heard (and it's been admittedly biased), Ivan was the abusee, not the abuser. But the thing is, I feel like I hear all the time about how people who are abused tend to become abusers when they get into a relationship they can control, because it's a power struggle they feel like they have to win. So what if that's what's happening? What if Ivan is abusing red headed girl, physically or emotionally? I feel like I need to do something at least to make sure she's okay, but I don't know what. I'll see her in a couple weeks face to face, and I can talk to her about it then, but even if I do, I don't know what to say. What should I do here? How do I talk to her about it? Should I even be worried?
