  1. If you can't make the paltry 200-300k to fix barrows after FIFTEEN HOURS of usage, then there is something seriously wrong. The food you would save and thus time you save from not having to bank as much would certainly make up for it, amongst other factors. Except guthans, the extra bonus barrows provide wont save you much food nor time than your average welfare amour... Think about void and fremmy helm+gplate+dskirt combo. And for guthans, you should only wear it when you need heals. Furthermore, a loss is a loss, the extra 200-300k per 15 hour can make a difference if he save it... it maybe the difference for him to upgrade w/e better amour / weapon he always wants faster.... Most people only use the plate and the legs. That's only 90k and 80k respectively if you DON'T use your own repair stand in your house, which reduces that. You could go kick chickens for that, it's nothing compared to the bonuses you get. EDIT: Just noticed Umoria doesn't have 55 construction, however I recommend that he/she gets it. If Umoria uses sacred clay hammers, it'd cost less than 250k to get 55 construction, without the hammers it's still under 500k. That's a flat fee to have cheaper barrows repair for life, which with his 61 smithing is about 30.5% cheaper costs. So if Umoria uses barrows plate and legs, it's just under 63k and 56k respectively. That's less than 119k per 15 hours. I never even let my barrows go below 50, most of the time if it's at 75 I'll swing by and repair it because it's such a small cost. Well I didn't thought such a question would end up in a discussion like this. It's a lot to read, but I get some insights in things I never thought before. I went to Fire Giants with Torag body, dragon legs, dragon boots, whip, defender, slayer helmet, RFD gloves, glory (since fury went through the roof) and obby cape. In Iventory I had some monks, ánd guthans to heal. Basiclly I only used 1 monk, because the healing took more time. I did just fine with torag body. Now I can imagine using torag legs and body would save more healing, but I just did fine. I really didn't thought of barrows, as one of you said, it's underrated. As for 55 construction: after the task I went to my house. Since it was a REAL mess, I putted in some time and effort. And money offcourse. First I made Eagle Lectern, and the best telescope I can make now. Used some items for two beds (I want the servant/slave) and build a chapel with teak altar now. Really love the crystal saw :) I pretty much get the hang of construction atm, and started to like it. So I will go for 55 construction some days, because I want to use my house more often. So now I aim for portal. But first I need to replace every wooden thing for oak or teak. It looks better, and I get some exp. Yesterday I finally traded 5 longbones for exp, wich made me 47 construction, and build some things wich boosted me to 48. But mainly, the discussion has given me an importent insight: dragon chain is overrated, and to spend money, I should aim for barrows ór the dragon platebody. Since I have torag, I might just save the money, made some more, and overthink the next steps
  2. So I have a task of Fire Giants right now. And I just range them, since my range can use an update. But I'm more fond of melee, and ever since I completed all the F2P tasks I wear a rune platebody. I think I can use a different body. And Fire Giants use crush attacks, so a chainbody is better then platebody. I don't have lots of cash, and I got a torag body in bank, just for some tasks. But with 8 mil on bank, just doing nothing, I started to think to buy the dragon chainbody. Is it a good piece of armour, if I have 8 mil, and don't want to spend cash on barrowarmour? Is it better then the rune platebody? Or are there better options, if I just make more money?
  3. The first article was not much of fun, or interesting to read. I doubt Jagex made a 180- degrees turn on RWT, but tried something else. A lot of MMORPGs use the benefits of real money, and buying stuff with that. So why not try it yourself? The second article is true. I took multiple breaks. So I don't have stats over 90, don't have a godsword etc. But moneymaking involves some unpopulair actions every now and then. Things as making dragon leather, pieshells, chopping yews/magics. And some people don't like to work hard (without getting exp) for money. Ah well, moneymaking is a discussion on RS that never ends.
  4. Sure, it's still the cheapest way, but he said: profit or break even. And in these terms, his only shot can be cleaning herbs, the best he can.
  5. is this really best? I've been doing extreme pots lately, since they give more experience per pot. Sara brews uses only toadflax and crushed birdsnest, extreme pots need, for example, a super attack potion, and the herb for making it extreme. Extremes are non-tradeable. Sara brews are, so you can earn back money for buying more herbs and seconds. In exp vs. gp ratio, it's better to use sara brews. If you only look for exp, and don't care about cash, extremes are the one to go.
  6. Cheap: Serum 207's Fast but costly: Anything until you can make super energy pots, super energy pots to 74, range pots to 81, sara brews to 99. Good luck :P Even Serum 207's is gonna cost money. Not the ash, but the herb required to make a pot. You should really be in the mood to put money into herblore. Nowadays prices of herbs went through the roof. So leveling herblore is gonna cost you a cabbageload more.
  7. You picked the wrong time to level herblore... The only way herblore can break you even, is if you have all the herbs required for level 60 already in bank. If not, use MTK for herbs, kill chaos warriors near Yanille for herbs, and farm your own. Then make the best pots you can. You might want to sell some on ge to earn some money back for more seconds/herbs.
  8. Chaos warriors tend to drop herbs more often. Found in Yanille. I got more ranarrs from them, then from druids. They are in 30s I thought, so at your level you can blow them away. Bring some cheap food just in case.
  9. First make your way in some quests. Herblore needs a quest to start, and summoning needs a quest to start. Both are not hard or long. Work your way to Tears of Guthix quest so you can go to the cave once a week, collect the tears, and earn exp in your lowest skill at that moment. Then make sure you do Ghost Ahoy for ectophial. Quick one click teleport can save your cabbage :) Lost City for Zanaris slayer master. And then get the levels to do Fairy tale part 1, and part 2 untill the part you unlock fairy rings for quick transportation. For earning cash, do slayer. By far the best way to combine combat exp and money. In the beginning you don't get the best monsters, but every herbdropper yields good money nowadays :) Work your fishing level and magiclevel up for Swan Song quest. Monkfish is in high demand, and heals 16 hp ea. Easy to catch, more exp then sharks, and easier to cook.
  10. @ zaaps Lol, still like your siggy with the sara owl :P OT: I poisend the mole quick, whipped him till 50% hp, digged away, found, blown to Kingdom Come. I like this giant mole, and before I started, I got 52 Summ for the terrorbird, so finding the coward is not as much as a pain in the cabbage as I expected. And the scrolls kept my energy. Will do a few more runs
  11. @ Joe You realy should consider changing your name to RuneScape_Professor. You seem to know almost everything here  Well I think I go with what Joe said. Emerald (e) bolts, wait till animation kicks in, switch to melee. 5 ppots, House tele, and back to Fally should do the trick, so I gonna start killing this giant teddybear, and blow him to Kingdome Come. Thnx all appreciate the ideas!
  12. I decided that it's time to solo a monster. And with my stats, I decided the Giant Mole would be my target. I just want to have some fun, and get some birdsnests along the way. So is this a good set-up? And are my stats good enough? Don't suggest brining friends and such, I decided to solo. I set me re-spawn to Falador just in case. Helm of Neitzinot Glory amulet Prossy plate Prossy legs Dragon boots Best RFD gloves Obby cape > god cape (don't know wich atm) Whip Rune defender Ring of Wealth In iventory I have: Super attack (4) Super Strength (4) 10 prayer potions (4) Holy wrench Spade Bullseye lantern Dragon dagger P++ > Dragon hellbeard (I might go with the dagger, but maybe hellbeard is good too, or bring them both?) I got enough charms and such to reach de Terrorbird, so I might want to take a terrorbird + scrolls with me. So summoning first, then have some fun.
  13. If you got the money, then alching. Just make sure you get the items wich profits you, so you won't loose to much. After 70, money is still pretty handy for other skills  The circus, if done well, can earn me 20K each week...don't know if that's normal, but since you love the circus, and vice versa, free exp is the way to go
  14. In wildy, take some spirit wolf pouches and some scrolls. IF you are low-leveled and Rev's get on your hiney. Summon wolf + howl = Rev running away in fear (although they have been slain in a war, they are scared of a wolf that doesn't exist -_-)
  15. Yes you can alch noted items. You just alch 1 at a time, but it cuts away the need of using your bank after 26 times alching. (gp in 1 slot, nats in 1 slot). Most people do this while farming herbs, so they have an eye on the herbs if it gets diseased, and still earning some money and exp.
  16. Are you using red or grey chins? THe difference is mainly the cost. Grey's are half the cost of reds, and give 3/4 expierence compared to red exp. So in moneyquestions: go with the greys. Don't know about the cost, it's mainly wich monster you choose. As said, you can even EARN money, in stead of losing it
  17. Your slayer isn't high enough for Dusties, even if it was, there are better options at 94 combat. I think Ankous too. They have good drops, you can kill them fast, so the exp is good, and they even drop clues, so you have the possibillity to gain some nice items wich sell for good money, or are worth keeping.
  18. Well, for me, I give it a try at waterfiends. Maybe buy me back the SS.
  19. Serum 207 is known as a good way to level herblore. But as said: untradeable. So either you have to drop them after you hit 57, or empty and re-use the vials. PS: @ Zaaps Dude, really love your picture
  20. So even with our stats, waterfiends can break even, by using food only? And get better crimson charm drops? Well, I think Dusties is better money, and the charms come in good. It's really your call what you want: break even at waterfiends, or still camp at dusties and earn some money along the way
  21. I thought you stopped failing at 80? Well, 75 is good, and the runs are small, and the exp good. The last obstacle is the best for exp in the run, so if you won't fail.... Hm I don't have the experience with all courses, but I think getting your agility up at Ape Atoll, is a good idea.
  22. Even with his stats? I have almost the same stats and I blocked waterfiends until I hit like 90 att, str and def, because I'm convinced it would only be a loss of money using ppots and such to go to waterfiends.
  23. Yes it's fine. I can stay there with the same (well almost) stats, and be good with B2P. They tend to drop kebabs too, so bring some cheap food if you wish. And get rid of the Neitzinot helmet, and bring facemask or slayer helmet. Or you can't camp there, but we can invite your friends for your funeral  No really, you need the facemask/earmufs+facemask from Smoking Kills or Slayer helmet to stay alive. Take enough B2P, bring fire staff + nats for rune daggers, battlestaves and red dhide vambraces, some cheap food, and kill away. Happy camping
  24. As for the Ape Atoll course: after 80 agility, you will fail so little. Maybe you don't fail at all. So if you time the 15 seconds extra, on an hour base, I think Ape Atoll is slightly better exp in the long run.
  25. Umoria

Frick...oh I mean: cabbage. Can I fix it now, even at level 73? I mean, it's a teleport way, so I can go there like...now?
