  1. Thank you very much! I've sorted it now, but just for future reference, what is this 'Deals Plugin' and how did I get it (possibly) like, you wouldn't know exactly but what are the possible ways of me accidentally getting it? :S I'm so tech-impaired, sorry.
  2. MY CHOCHAN!
  3. Precisely my thoughts. I don't like to comment where I'm not an expert, and I don't even know why I care so much about American politics. It's 5.09am and instead of being asleep, I'm here skipping around the house singing that Obama has won. There have been so many worries amongst my friends, in me, and my mum and family that Romney would win, and I don't even know why the hell why. Only a handful of my family are even American. But I feel absolutely ecstatic, and I'm in the same position I was in four years ago this time. Screaming with absolute joy.

Sad day. Girl at my school committed suicide, about 14 years old. Didn't know her, but R.I.P :? Really sad to think someone so young had that many issues that she thought she'd prefer to be dead. Other news: I applied to University to study Biochemistry...

In Britain, it’s Sixth Form, but I think in America/Canada the equivalent is the final 2 years of ‘high school’. I’m one year before university. Basically, compulsory school here, ends when you pass your exams at the age of 16. Afterwards, you can leave school or do vocational courses, or start working. There are other options but these are the main ones. The other alternative, known as the ‘academic’ alternative, is Sixth form or college for 2 years, which is when you pick 4 subjects usually in the first year and study them to advanced level with exams at the end of the year. To get into the second year of Sixth Form, the requirements vary, but for my Sixth Form, you need to gain at least 3 D grades in 3 of your 4 subjects to make it into the final year. In response to Rob, I think the teacher’s harassment did play a key role. She was a hard worker, and was demotivated at times and wanted to skip class. I convinced her that skipping class would be falling straight into the teacher’s trap. (They can kick you out for not attending enough lessons too). I think she also didn’t have enough support at home from her parents either, because they would have been distressed from getting calls persistently from this teacher. She had severe depression and has been formally diagnosed for it. Unfortunately, this wasn’t enough to allow her to repeat the year or change courses. What outrages me is that another one of my friends didn’t make the grades either, but was allowed to stay, and she clearly does not care about attending Sixth Form because she chooses to skip school because she “Hates Mondays” or “Hates Thursdays” when at this point, we pick our subjects to study, so it isn’t like she’s being forced to come. She comes because she has nothing else to do and clearly doesn’t value school. She seems to get away with a lot, and it annoys me because this friend who got kicked out really did work hard. At the end of the day though, she needed to find a suitable balance between work and rest, because with the way she was going, she would probably have been burnt out from studying a number of times. One more factor, and I’m not making excuses, is that she had three exams on one day, on three very different subjects. She would have been exhausted as well. I had two exams at most and that affected my grades as well, but not bad enough that I failed. The next morning, she had a Maths exam as well, so that might have contributed. I still wish her the best of luck, and yeah, thanks for the wishes, but C’est La Vie. :/

Some of you guys might remember me posting about my German teacher who used to bully people in our class and picked on a girl consistently. She used to call her parents for no reason to make up false complaints just because she liked ruining her home life as well as her school life. By the end of the year, this German teacher had gotten into a car crash and took the days she was supposed to teach us, off work deliberately to avoid teaching us. Today was a poignant day. This friend had no support at home, she had no love to come back to. She always wanted to spend time out side, being it with friends, or studying in the library. Her dad wouldn’t trust her to leave the house though, and her mum was easily overpowered by her dad. She was the oldest in her family, so she had a lot of expectation. She wanted to become a dentist. Sadly, last week, she failed 3 out of 4 subjects this year, and so was made to leave our Sixth form. A week later, which was today, the people who didn’t qualify were invited to come back to school for an interview. Either they would make an exception for the individual to repeat the year, or the person would have to leave. This friend had no parents accompanying her to the interview to plead her case, she has suffered from depression which might have impacted her progress in the year. But there’s no doubting she worked hard, which is the saddest part. Sadly, she was sent away and has had her phone confiscated, so I haven’t been able to call her. I texted her and she replied that she’ll see me next in October when we have paramedic training together, but today, is a sad day. A sad day indeed. Tl;dr: One of my closest friends has gotten kicked out of school for our final year.

  14. While we're on the topic of thinking that boys are attracted to the same things you are, I think it's also fair to mention that guys don't really get turned on by how smart, independent, successful, or confident a woman is. It's not as important as her physical appearance is when it comes to that To get turned on, sure. But things like that are important to a lot of guys for other reasons... Indeed. I just know too many girls that brag about how sassy and independent they are because they think they're gonna attract men that way. That's not to say that being an independent woman is a bad thing. Rather, if she's trying to get a man's attention, she'll probably be more successful by acting kind, sweet, cute, funny, etc. Yeah... I don't really get that, either. The bold part is basically what I've done for the past 7 months, which has eventually gotten us to be close. Kind of happy that I seem to be doing "the right thing" (I use that loosely). I know it's not the main factor, but some guys do prefer girls who are more confident though. Like the guy I'm talking about in my posts, he has told me " I like confident girls " specifically after I was shy in a three hour conversation in a café. That's why he, himself is a bit surprised by how far we've come (as friends) with such different personalities and social behaviours.
  15. Haha thanks, I knew I wasn't being entirely fictional saying that. I think I've done okay on the "not being clingy" side. He comes up to me, and tries starting conversation with me way more than I try with him. Helps a bit that I'm a shy person, and he's the precise opposite. It does deter me from talking to him so often in public though, because I like quiet, and he is always being called by everybody, left, right and center. I observed this about him early on, and thought that this would make me fade further into the background, so I should just give up. In fact, it did the exact opposite of that. Thanks. He's an easy guy to talk to, shouldn't be too hard.
  16. He is definitely not in the friendzone. I guess girls don't really like guys who are overly clingy, so I just thought boys would be the same, but it looks like it's all in the mind. Anyways, 1 day to do all of this, challenge accepted. Thanks guys
  17. Quick question really; So it was Sports day today, and in normal sports day fashion, we were doing our events and cheering on our friends. I was taking photos with friends, and since I'm pretty comfortable friends with the guy I like, I decided to take a photo with him. Some girls took the photo using my camera and asked us if we're dating. I said "no" because firstly, it's true, we aren't dating. But I also get nervous and shy about these things, and don't want to say 'yes' until anything gets official. He replied with "Not quite" instead, and all of them had a raised eyebrow and were all like "ooh!" What do you think he means by that? Bit of background, I'm pretty good friends with this guy, he knows I have liked him in the past, I don't know if he knows I still do. I've been comfortable with being friends, and go with the flow of things really. We've had a good relationship for about seven months. Some people still choose to believe we're dating even though we really aren't. He's done things for me that he probably wouldn't do for the average person, but I still prefer to just be honest and say we aren't going out, to avoid getting excited over nothing. I don't want to ask him, because I don't want to keep bringing the subject up and I also don't want him to think I've been over-thinking this (which I have) Either way, it's the last day of school tomorrow, summer party the same night that we're both going to, but afterwards, we won't see each other until September. So yeah, limited time to ask/talk to him, and even if something happens, there's going to be a long break before we see each other again.
  18. Sebastian and Belle - Step into my office, baby Sebastian and Belle are an Indie band from Glasgow, Scotland. Came up in my Music Exam. I love Music exams for introducing me to good songs. Probably the most enjoyable type of exam there is.

Things didn't go as planned, but things could have been a lot worse. I was supposed to go on a date thing with this guy. I was supposed to text him after my exam to confirm I had finished, so I tried texting him and no texts were being sent. I called him, again the calls disconnected. Later on, he called a friend that I was with at the time and he had apparently been stolen from and badly beaten up on Saturday night while bringing his younger brother home from a party. His phone, bus pass and debit card had all been stolen. Initially, the boys who attacked him (who were wearing balaclavas) were going to fight his brother. But it was his responsibility to look after his younger brother that night, and so he told them "Take me instead" after which they proceeded to steal from him and beat him up. I did meet him later on, but with some friends. We bought him a present and sat in the park and chatted. He's shown great sort of 'strength' for lack of a better word during this time. His face is a bit bruised and he has some wounds on his leg. He still had the energy to laugh and joke around with us. It's ridiculous to think that my area is actually not as safe as I feel it is. He was mugged where I literally do my grocery shopping. It's literally a massive wake up call for me. I knew stabbings, muggings and other crimes happened here, but it's always a shocker when it's someone you know, and a bit of a reminder that it could be anyone. I'm happy nothing worse happened is all, and that he's safe now. In other news my exams are done. Finished with a nice Music Technology exam with nice tracks played.
  20. I'll try to attend too! Hopefully will be able to make it, but not too sure since I have an exam the following day :( Well done though!
