  1. Yes! Next year is going to rock with new updates! I can't wait and hope you all have a Merry and Safe Christmas! I know you tip.it'rs can get wild, but please think about the children before you be all your partying selves..
  2. Shortest discussion ever. OT: I didn't do the quest myself but from what I heard it was awesome!
  3. We got a new tutorial? I thought they went back to the old tutorial island and that's what it is right now...
  4. "Hey! Come on we're rolling out!" "WAIT a Second I'm almost done with this quest ok!" Glad to see you guys have some time to relax over there, oh and thanks for being over there even at Xmas! Good luck!
  5. [hide][/hide] Yup memories of old Runescape. I liked the old RS, but I do have to say that even though Jagex has had a couple screw ups, their good updates far outweigh their bad ones. I really like the direction Runescape has gone... The only thing I probably do not like is the sheer amount of little immature games found on the game, but hey the aimed audience is teens; so my expectations were not that high to begin with. That's why I come to Tip.it: To engage in discussions about the game with people that have some respect for others at least (well most of the time ).
  6. I'm just glad Jagex decided to dedicate this year to making a ton of small updates that really make the game more enjoyable then just cranking out new content. Yet they still catered to those wanting quests and new content, but really focused on an overhaul of the game itself and changed a few core gameplay mechanics. This year was so packed full of updates but if I had to pick my favorite it is not so much just one update in itself, but it was Jagex's decision to really participate in the community and help break the barrier between their players and the company that develops the game those players play. It's been nice getting some incite into a company that has been very private in years past.
  7. Man those were all awesome! My favorite was the Christmasy General though! Wish they would give us the pictures in a higher resolution..
  8. It's Christmas, lighten up. I am happy for anything Jagex gives us, especially to F2P.
  9. [hide] they said it wouldn't use much more cpu. Cheaper and more powerful processors have always been released since the dawn of the computer age, but there will always be old computers that don't have a fancy processor or a recent graphics card. Unusually for a game, what we need to focus on is the oldest hardware that people still use regularly on a computer instead of new releases. That means considering computers that only use integrated graphics/ old graphics cards and ~2GHz processors for the lowest settings of the game. The question is, should basic weather/particle effects be compulsory for everyone? i can barely run rs2 as it is, especially at tet events and stuff it becomes unrunable, as i'm on a 2.93ghz celeron with an equally old integrated graphics card. they also said the effect would be scalable, which i assume means you can turn it completely off as well. The question is, should basic weather/particle effects be compulsory for everyone? Yeah now a days though you can pick up a decent computer for only a few hundred dollars that can run any game on the market. Newegg is your friend. clearly you come from a family that has enough money for a new computer every 2 years or whatever ridiculous speed you want, if you'll give me a few hundred dollars, then sure i'll happily go on newegg and buy a new computer, unfortunately for a lot of people a few hundred dollars is unavailable for a new computer. that's not a viable solution "oh, this is harder to use now, you have to upgrade this or buy this new component so you can use this properly" that doesn't work every time, you'll end up with a customer base of people who can only afford better computer, and runescape tries to attract everyone, i realize there is a limit on how compatible they can be with old computer, and i'm assuming i am nearing that limit soon, within the next 6 months i probably won't be able to run rs2 on this computer anymore, except for maybe standing somewhere vacant and sitting in a clan chat, but that still doesn't mean that just because i need a new computer i can go out and buy one. tl;dr buying new hardware every time there are upgrades that come out is a useless solution to most people. [/hide] I was just letting people know that if they are looking for new computer components, new ones are coming out in January. People were on the topic that the particle effects would add to Runescape being a CPU hog, so I was just bringing up a suggestion that if anyone was in the market anyway, they can get a good cheap computer at newegg, with new processors from Intel coming out next month. I was not trying to be rude or anything, just helpful. No need to be so snappy. One more thing, please don't assume anything about my family, as we are tightening our belts just like millions of other people due to the recession. ~Merry Christmas :^_^:
  10. I see what you are saying. Let's say we have two players: Player A and Player B. Let me know if that is what you are talking about..that's what I gathered from the confusing text you gave me.

  12. Yeah particle effects are hopefully going to be awesome! Real, virtual, snow (wait...)! Lol but seriously I can't wait until next week's Christmas event woo. Oh for you guy's saying that it will suck even more cpu: Intel is rolling out new 32nm architecture CPU's in January (Core i3, i5, and i7). Cheaper, more efficient, and more powerful CPU's!
  13. Sees to me as though there is a glitch with the 10 second safe spot delay timer then. Stay off PvP worlds then if you are afraid. Jagex will either fix it, or if this is a hoax then it shouldn't matter if you wait a day before going on to PvP again. Don't PvP myself but thanks for the headsup.
  14. Judging from the artwork I think I will be a little more interested in Mechscape, but all I can do is wait and see!
  15. I seriously doubt that racism was in Jagex's mind as they made the black sheep...stop masking yourselves and saying, "Oh well I don't find it as a big deal, but other people will!" And then going on and on and on about it being a big deal. On a more related note, apparently Jagex is reworking the beginner F2P quests, which is pretty cool. I always thought a lot of the old ones seemed random, out of place, and did not fit with the newer ones. Glad to see they are catering to not only high level players, but low leveled ones as well.
  16. Would use it if I was a member again. As of now though I iz F2P and can only stare at the portal by Rimmington and wish.
  17. Interesting. I hope F2P gets some updates soon...would be awesome! I know Christmas is coming so at least some new content will be great.
  18. I remember going to the second and third ones. Never made it to the fourth one though...heard we dominated. If they do another MSSW they could do something along the lines of a tournement. The leaders of all the sites could get together and build a bracket system and just have the battles over the course of several weeks through clan wars. Just a suggestion.
  19. I use crumble undead on ankous in the Stronghold of Security. There is a safe spot you can use after the initial 10 minute aggro. I usually take some rune armor and tank the first 10 minutes, and then switch over to my Great Orb Project Robes afterward. I use an earth staff because it saves more then an air staff too. After you kill a couple ankous you can run around and grab the drops which include law runes, rune ess, addy arrows, coins, and loads of other goodies. Check out Tip.it's info of ankous here
  20. I play Runescape because I find it pleasurable, but only in small doses. I don't grind skills but I do enjoy training them, even when I am sometimes F2P. For now I enjoy any F2P updates I get, and then just train magic when there is no new content. I play it more now for the atmosphere and community then the actually pleasure of the game. Now that I think about it, I probably spend more time talking about Runescape on these forums then actually playing the game.
  21. I thought the unofficial Forsakenmage was changed to someone else? I think it was Lady Heinous.. Oh and since you are new, just to let you know we have a help and advice forum for questions. You can ask anything and usually someone can help you out! http://forum.tip.it/forum/11-help-%26-advice/ Its right under the General Discussion. Welcome to Tip.it
  22. Apparently Santa's sleigh broke down and now he is using his yacht to travel the high seas.
  23. Not surprised. Many things have very high prices. It's from the huge influx of gp so prices of everything go up.
  24. It's a challenge to get it in my eyes, and the reward fits it nicely. Oh and let's not forget how completely Bad-a** it looks.
