Pretty unlikely, given that getting a MD degree requires 3-4 years of prior university level study of pathology, anatomy, physiology, and human biology via a bachelor's degree.

Poverty, no family/trying to support elders alone, no education or a job, persuaded by other gang members... People don't just "join" gangs. You are recruited if the leader sees you have nothing left to lose in life by joining them and will likely be loyal. In some bad neighbourhoods or slums especially outside of the US, like in Brazil, it may actually be the only way to stay alive. A better question would be "is there anyone in a gang who wasn't forced to"? If you got to ask a number of gang members why they became involved... You'd find chronic poverty, family disputes/violence/domestic violence, low education, behind every person's life. Would you rather work a white collar job in an office for $2k a month, or risk your life and health being a scummy dealer or robber who gets to keep 5% of his profits and passes 95% up to his superiors, eventually ending up in prison? Nobody is in a gang voluntarily...

Doesn't seem very freaky, other than the fact you'd call an old lady a b* just for asking prices instead of just telling her and continuing your meal.

What I find funny is that if we're talking about abrahamic religions and not indigenous/asian/other ones, it's actually not even a paradox. God, Yahweh and Allah mean the same god that Abraham spoke with and is mentioned in all the 3 holy books of those religions. Yahweh is merely the hebrew word for 'God' just as 'Allah' means 'God' in arabic (and is also the word used by christians living in arabic countries when referring to their own God). If you're jewish and christian at the same time, or jewish and muslim at the same time, it's not a theological paradox because you still worship the same God. However christianity also reveres Jesus Christ as the son of God which isn't accepted by the other 2 religions as fact, so that can cause conflicts if you worship Jesus instead of God. Also, if you were to be a jew and a muslim at the same time, you'd have to accept that Muhammad is a prophet, while also believing in Yahweh. Nothing in the torah prohibits simply accepting Muhammad as one of the prophets, some people even intepret Deuteronomy 18:18 as referring to Muhammad. If you were a christian, you could technically also be a muslim at the same time, as long as you believed Muhammad was one of the prophets (such as projected in Deut. 18:18), because you'd still worship the same God. Believing the divinity of Jesus, the trinity, or the audacity of the Qur'an would be your personal matter though.

Actually, you can. If your mom/dad was Jewish, you have to be Jewish. That's why I'm half Jewish, half-Catholic Not to be nitpicking, but the book of Deuteronomy 20:3-4 and Ezra are usually intepreted to only mean matrilinear heritage when it comes to Jewish identity (you can only 'inherit' the faith if your mother is jewish). If you choose to become a person of jewish faith that's another matter. Besides, a person doesn't have a religion by birth, unlike ethnicity or gender. You are only what you believe or have been taught. Since being a christian, jew or muslim isn't bound by ethnicity or any other physical characteristic, you can't be born into a religion. Hell, I should know, because my father is a muslim but my mother is christian. Yet I got baptized in a church at birth (my father didn't oppose). I don't personally follow any religion or consider myself a part of either religion. Surely it's not a crime, but a major theological conflict in nearly all religions. The above is the first commandment in christianity. If you're a christian you can't simultaneously believe in anything else, similar rules exist in islam and judaism.

Dizzle has a point though, assuming he's around his teen years, tons of people his age and even up to 16 are drooling morons who only look at the physical side of a person and post 'boob jokes' on 4chan thinking it's funny. Hardly makes him gay if he can actually view a girl for what she is as a whole. "What a rack, I'm going out with her" is as dumb as western civilization can get.

A "gang" usually consists of 15-23 year olds, who participate in petty street crime, drugs and violence. Sometimes, they may identify with each other via tattoos, and have a shared place of residence. Almost without exception they will end up in jail sooner or later. I doubt you could equate that to a 'clique' which just hangs out. Organised crime is a chapter of it's own, they are often connected in politics, keep extremely low profiles, may have smuggled automatic weapons instead of shabby converted pistols, and usually engage in subtle crime like ID theft, protection rackets, staging arson/suicides, insurance fraud/medicare embezzlement etc., usually aged 25-60 As dragoonson said, a gang more often than not are in it mostly for the brotherhood, not the money. In terms of effectiveness a gang is usually the bottom feeder of society, as they might not have very intelligent strategies and often get imprisoned/kill their leaders due to ego issues etc.

For a second it sounded like trolling but maybe you really haven't heard about Abu Ghraib or U.S. detention centers around the world... Have a read. The torture of POW hasn't been just approved by CIA agents, it has support all the way from Bush's administration. http://abcnews.go.com/TheLaw/LawPolitic ... d=4635175& As far as I remember, sleep deprivation and simulated drowning is considered inhumane, unusual & cruel punishment, or torture by the Third Geneva Convention and UN convention against torture which the US has signed:

I use Trillian messenger, it's much more advanced because you can also integrate other logins such as yahoo/ICQ into it. I think Herr/Anesthesia from tip.it told me about it years ago.

Barack Obama is the 44th President of the United States
BlueLancer replied to 3rkid's topic in Off-Topic
I believe that was Jim Cramer. Also, Warren Buffet, the richest man on Earth, endorsed Obama. Being Rich =/= make you 'know more' about the election. The point is Obama advocates removing tax loopholes for the rich, etc... And he still gets their support. Also if you ever heard/read anything by Warren Buffett, he has extremely intelligent, analytical and humanist views on economics/politics. -
The person probably isn't your friend if he/she disrupts your activities just to piss you off by calling you about trivial things. You're right.. Most things can usually wait. Though, if your friend just called 911, is in serious sudden pain or about to be hospitalised, which is a scenario I encountered last year, forget sleep, it can wait even if you have work or school the next day. Abandoning your friend when he/she needs help leaves forever repercussions, cutting on your sleep is something you can fix in 2 days. Supporting a good friend (or family) gets priority over pretty much anything. I think most people's views eventually move towards this direction once they mature up and start caring about other people than themselves.

That's not really true at all, as far as I recall.. In the book of Revelations, Satan is said to be a "crooked/twisted/old serpent" just like Leviathan (who is described to be a serpent and monster). I looked it up and the exact verse is 12:9 The passage really can't be any more clear on the issue.. The riddle of Epicurus has been debated for centuries though, and it exposes the flaws of the Old/New testament God's supposed qualities. The correct riddle is: It's impossible to dismantle by logic. I think some parts of the Bible work against itself by assigning almost every possible attribute to God and making him logically implausible.

A real friend can be called at any time, day or night. Had quite a few occassions in which my friends were in distress or trouble even while I was sleeping at 3am, I don't even remotely consider the option of just 'not answering' and making up an excuse later. Really, unless you have a really good reason, you should answer phone calls made by your family or closest friends, or if you're very busy, at least call back a few minutes later. Whatever you're doing can usually wait. It means the person said you can call them whenever.

You sure have a vivid imagination  -
Not encouraging anything, but most school filters are pretty weak... By tracerouting or just pinging a website & entering it in the address bar can often bypass it. My younger cousin found an even more ridiculous exploit at his school Windows computers.. IE was blocked from students and all the icons were removed.. But you could still go Run->iexplore->surf  Also all the Windows folders are removed from sight on weakly protected school Windows systems... Yet you can go run->%systemroot%-> view, run or tweak them.

It can in some abnormal cases, like the french guy who has eaten TV's, airplanes, etc. It's very rare, but humanly possible to digest glass, chunks of metal, etc. Yep, just an urban legend.. But think, it's pretty easy to spread as fact. How many people can observe ducks in an environment like a deep cave/chamber where an echo could be heard? And the sound they make is distinctive, so I guess that also gives plausibility to the (false) assumption their quack doesn't echo at all.

In most European countries, you don't "select" to be vaccinated - after being born, you are required to bring the baby back to a hospital for vaccinations for: Polio Diphtheria Tetanus Acellular pertussis Type B hemophilia influenza To put it bluntly, you'd have to be a pretty crappy parent not to vaccinate your kid shortly after he/she has been born, and at around age 5/6 for additional easily preventable diseases. If you go to a foreign country or come to contact with fatal contageous diseases such as diphtheria, malaria, typhoid, rabies, your immune system isn't going to be of any help even if you're Clark Kent. It can't really be stressed enough, the only way to prevent an unnecessary death from those diseases is by making your body immune to it in advance. If you travel to certain countries in Africa for example, as a US/EU/Australian citizen, you aren't *allowed* to get a visa before you have been certifiedly vaccinated against key diseases

Always print. Most schools do teach cursive too, but I, too, sure as heck can't write it in a fashion that makes it readable to (many) outsiders. It's been so many years since I even wrote a small excerpt of text in cursive. Then again, your best bet is making a CV/resume by OpenOffice or a similar computer program... Guarantees readability to everyone.

I think all youngsters should experience a good month or two of solid work combined during their high school years. Currently, we only do ten days. Some people don't enjoy academic education, and will be more successful by working their way up than by going to get A Levels. Make youngsters gain some experience working, even if it's just waiting or pot-washing, and it's something to talk about on their CV when applying for jobs later. A big problem with people looking for jobs in this country is a lack of experience on their CV making it impossible to get an interview. The solution to me seems simple: make them receive that experience before leaving secondary education. Excellent suggestion, because today's kids who live in an utopia think they can just graduate with straight A's and become an executive. Guess what: Companies get hundreds of applications for each job they post up, even entry-level. The only way you're going to get priority is by prior work experience, preferably countable in years.. Not your business attire, magna [bleep] laude grades or being the class president in college. I'm not speaking only from experience.. I'm saying how it works. I interviewed a ton of people for my father's company and the 3 people that got hired all had 1+ year of work experience compared to fresh graduates with zero experience. Grades don't guarantee a job. If possible at all, try to pick up an internship at a company even if you have to work for free while studying, you'll thank yourself in the future.

The admin you flamed about it was actually just doing her job with that other topic which just went plain moronic/4chan, not being a nazi. Though, IMO there's no reason to lock a fun thread as long as it doesn't get too 'out of limits', There's tons of pickup lines, cheesy, bad and brilliant... So why post just the sick and totally distasteful ones? Anyways, here's some horrible ones:

I mostly think Loose Change is a pretty 'loose' documentary with circumstantial evidence, but I never really saw the logic behind the above statement which was also uttered by the great writer Maddox. If he was suddenly killed after releasing the video... Wouldn't it just make it all the more obvious his documentary had some serious weight to it? People involved in politics in any way aren't assassinated because they're liked... They're assassinated because they have information or agendas that can reveal ugly truths later down the path and ruin the careers of crooked people. Either way, going by that logic though, since he wasn't killed; he really had nothing of importance to say.

If it drives you nuts, the ad did exactly what it was meant to do: A primitive provocation. Don't take them so seriously, just treat them like those "You are the 6,254,346th visitor! This isn't a joke! Click here to claim your prize" banners, sadly online profiteers will lie about ANYTHING to turn a quick buck. I saw one of those IQ ads too, under it was Paris Hilton's picture and "Her IQ is 120. Are you smarter?" They make up numbers so people get agitated or embarrassed, and take the test themselves (bringing ad revenue to the bogus IQ test site owner, or referral income) I also think McCain's level of respect, integrity and honor went through the roof with that speech, shame on the childish supporters that started booing at him when he stated his support for the next president of the United States, he had every right to say "stop booing". I couldn't find any note of sarcasm or bitterness in his speech, he genuinely accepted the result and commended Obama for it. No matter what his policies or opinions, that shows he's a true man. -

You know what would be great? If people who are mostly nearing their adulthood or far past it, maybe even voting age, wouldn't have to resort to more cries of 'n*gger'*, 'they're slaves', or 'all southern people are idiots' etc. It was a clear win anyways, I don't particularly advocate either candidate personally... But come on, you'd have had your head buried under sand for the last few months if you thought this was a surprise result. All statistics and polls pointed towards this. I wouldn't be so angry about something that was more or less self-evident.
