  1. The naming convention is not important, and I don't think it the so called problem. The problem old school players have is that they feel OSRS is the legitimate game and the current iteration is just a spin off series like "Joey" was for "Friends", where it is really a reboot like the upcoming "Girl Meets World", a continuation of a season like when "The Walking Dead" has those mid season finales, or season 3 of another TV show. The problem is also as Darth said, the future of OSRS. As fond as the game is and as fun as the simpler time is, it will follow the same path as Classic eventually. And such will EoC when RS4 comes (if it does). And OP is right, newer players who come into the game aren't gonna come for OSRS. But that's the plan, as I suspect for any gaming company. Newer things to entice newer players. But for now, as the OP has posted, I think some of those suggestions should help OSRS.
  2. It's still Runescape. You don't think Classic players hated RS2 when it was introduced? Yet that is the version of OSRS played that you fondly call RS. Honestly it just different iterations of one game. Yes there are some difference but it's still RS. Classic was just called RS at a time and so was 2k7. The same will happen to EoC. Jagex has a clear vision for how they want RS to evolve and we are playing it. Runespace isn't, and should'tn be, a static game. That is the problem I think old school players have. They can't accept change and don't like to accept the fact that it's okay to quit a game once it changes from something they believe is fundamentally different than what they remember/enjoy. So yeah, I can call it Runescape because I can accept the fact Runecape will continue to change and evolve into a different type of game that makes us put titles like EoC and OSRS.
  3. I just used that as an example. But people refer to it is as EoC already... EoC is just the name of the update for which makes it so different. They are still Runescape but of a different time. If we rename Old School Runescape to just Runescape it begs the question"what the do we call Classic?" The names I think are fine as it is: Classic Runescape, Old School Runescape, and EoC Runescape, or just Runescape. Each new iteration of this game should have that title of Runescape which each previous version taking a slightly different title. Somewhere down the line I expect 2k7 to become Classic, and current scape to be old school. That said I agree with suggestion 1, 4 and to some extend #2. As far as separating friends list, I don't think they need to. Just allow clan and quick chat into 2k7. Dividing the community feels like they are forcing me to pick my friends. Just because he plays OSRS more than current and vice versa for me doesn't mean we should separate. It's easy to keep in touch on a friend bases, but what about a clan? I would much prefer the ability to communicate across the board, because while OSRS is suppose to be like 2007 that isn't gonna happen. 2007 is done. An example is rares. They mean something different now than when they came out, and you can't get that feeling again, because everyone now has an expectation of what it should be and want the good things that come with it.
  4. The OP could just go to the official PC world as games are always running for vets. Games run sub 2 minutes.
  5. :o This my chance to get higher levels than Mark. *goes to watch TV*
  6. Naw, I'm voting for P2Prunsoutbeforemax party. I like their stands on education. :P
  7. Did you just repeat the theme over again or once frozen theme was done, did you dung properly until end? Ignore for inability to read.
  8. OMG! I think you killed me once! jk jk. Congrats
  9. 12 rocktails and you go "Ew food"? Naabe
  10. Every time I play I don't think much of it, but seeing this video it looks awesome. :D
  11. Why do I feel like this will be a very short blog?
  12. Any confirmed news on if the workers get more than one superpower? I know a guy, who knows an elf, who knows a guy, who know a dragon, who knows a pirate, who knows a dwarf ,who knows me, and he said one of his buddies got super strength and laser eyes.
  13. It's like KK where anyon can join so long as they have you name a key code to enter the room.
  14. Depends on what you want more. I think summoning is still a great skill because familiar can be used for more than fighting, such as mining, firemaking, etc. And I hear a pack yak is lovely. Prayer is great for boss hunting and if you can make the money, the skill is quick. Summoning requires you to get charms so unless you camp monsters who drop a lot of charms it can go slow. But summoning is cheaper than prayer. A lot cheaper. So it depends on what you really want.
  15. You can also invest in doing some D&D's the cover summoning levels. Troll invasion and Penguins are the main ones as you can apply them to any skill. You can also do more quest and get free lamps to use on summoning since by Lio's estimation you'll come up short. Otherwise do more slayer on camp waterfiends.
  16. The point still remains that Nexus isn't a very good method for early prayer training. If you spend time questing you eventually run into the problem of leveling skills for them. I f you do that you'll run into methods like altars on w31 in houses. While I wasn't a level 4, fresh on P2P I spent a lot of thing on here and Rune Wikia because I was sucking so bad at boss hunting. And i quickly learned fast and/or efficient methods for many skills. Now I can imagine the game being hard for fresh off level 4 players. In another thread on the forum someone made a new account and commented on how hard RS is as a new player. Based on what I read here, instead of making new content like this, Jagex needs to point method players like us have already found. Jagex spot lights player forums and has a beginner guide, but doesn't make much mention of it in game. We have task and daily challenges and the combat tutorial but how many new players are gonna go to those? Tutorial island was really the best way to help new players as it walked them through things they could do and made suggestions as to how to do better. Really all they need was an update to it and make mention to methods players use to level, and push the idea of questing to help players.
  17. For the time being 10 coal and 5 herbs is best for mtk. But it depends on the market at the time you collect. For a while last summer Mahogany and coal was best, then cooked fish and something else. But I collect I go here to check what give a better payout: http://runescape.wik...her/Miscellania As you can see raw fish is coming up on herbs. Might change next week. I think most dailies are worth doing, like sand, battlestaves, and the likes. However, there are also daily challenges you should also do as they give you double the exp you would for doing it for a time. For example it will ask you to string yew shortbows and turn them for more experience.
  18. We can not try it together! Best friend! :D
  19. Is it bad that I'm probably not gonna try this piece of content...ever?
  20. Glad I got that out of the way a few months ago # Same. In other news, BOE isn't as much as a [bleep] anymore, or so I hope.
  21. Agree with the above post. My last clan fell apart, but I made some good rs friends who I continue to talk to. So a clan is a great way to make friends. If you still are having trouble then lurk by the HYT friend chat (Serpent Eye). We are a bit crazy but that hasn't scared off anyone yet but we hope you stay.
