The Running Thread
yes, this is a good one, I've been doing it a lot recently since i've been going harder with heel raises and such (I'm suprisingly very sore). also standing up straight, putting one foot about a foot in front of where it would usually be and putting that knee forward (but not too far) is also a good stretch

Aww, poor baby has his build spoiled? Using the new slayer master would screw up your pureness or whatever crap you're trying to do. Poor baby. Isn't everything unfair. Unfair to level 3's with 99 slayer and unfair to the people who don't want to work for anything. I'm so tired of the whining. BTW, before anyone can say anything, I don't whine. If I have a criticism I'll offer up alternatives or something constructive. This is just straight 'plainin. Its even a decent argument. His argument is: It is rubbish because it will take me a year to use this new master, unless I train summoning, because I have priorities outside rs. Which is just LOL By that logic every new skill they bring out is [cabbage] because you cant use any of it unless you train it lol a year he must only be spending like 5 mins a week on runescape to get 110 cmb in a years time lmfao I don't really see where any of you are going. obviously none of you have every made a ranged tank. I'll reply to paws, though , since he isn't as huge a nerd as that "me_hate_libs" person; he'll probably actually read my post/look at my skills instead of calling me a poor baby. Firstly, Thats not my argument at all. I'm basically saying that i don't see the point of having a high combat level req when your slayer level is high enough. slayer isn't exactly easy to train, but by giving the masters high combat requirements jagex is favoring MELEE BASED characters (you can't deny it). Like it or not, it is very clear that a 110 combat requirement is hard to attain even with maxed tanking stats (99 def/range/hp/pray). its already hard enough for rangers to compete with warriors since warriors can reap the full benefits of the black mask, however i'm not complaining about that. I'm not sure what you assumed about my logic. i never said anything about new skills being [cabbage], i enjoy training skills, and i've already trained slayer enough to be in the top 130k in the world, which at 96 combat is respectable, to say the least. and to metoo: I only spend 5 minutes a week on runescape? learn to read please. what the hell are you talking about anyway? if you looked a few pixels below my post you probably would have seen that i'm a ranged tank. and at 99 def/hp/range/75 pray range tanks are only level 106-7 without summoning. somehow you think getting a character to these levels must be "easy". and fyi- i do train summoning, at first it was only to get a bss but not i do use it and am collecting charms for it. sorry i don't have all my combat skills at 99 but i'm sure you enjoy a great social life! and to be honest, i hate arguing with Tif'ers because the majority of them are much higher leveled than me and some tend to think that the world revolves around them (nobody forced you to respond to my post, me_hate_libs). So I won't be replying to your response out of respect for this forum, as i've clearly stated my purpose for posting. edit: oh wait, i'm higher slayer than you paw, and i'm about 8 cb levels below you (further proving my point), so basically your post was invalid and i wish i knew that before i took the time to respond to it.

this is [bleep] horrible. now you mean to tell me i have to train my summoning wayyyy up just to get tasks from this new master? why in god's name is there a [bleep] combat requirement on the highest slayer masters? i mean, i'll be level 100 in maybe a month or so if i train summoning, but i won't reach 110 until i pretty much max out my build, which i won't do for more than a year considering now i have higher priorities than runescape. seriously, i think its unfair since i spend almost all my time training combat with slayer.. this makes me want to just give in like all those noobs that train at yaks for the great exp gain.

no offense, but "what happened in keldagrim stays in keldagrim" is awfully mediocre and should have been eliminated upon entry.

Wow, consider yourself lucky you can just go skiing in the afternoon. I have to drive 7h to the A;ps for it (live in Belgium). no, consider yourself lucky. i live in Pennsylvania. the highest "hill" within an hour drive of my house probably has the verticle drop of your nearest bunny slope. Consider yourself lucky that you actually get snow. I'm doing at least 3-4 days a week for Track conditioning...keeping the miles up and hills going. speaking of snow, i got about 4 inches over this weekend.. so i took this weekend off. hopefully i'll get a good 5-6 day week in. i also need to look into buying warmer clothes

for some reason the team takes an ungodly amount of time to get changed.. plus we have to -wait- for our coach to come  last year i stopped going near the end of the winter and ran on my own. i couldn't believe the (old) coach was actually getting pissed at me for taking 1-2 days off a week to go skiing (i would just run at home). when i want to go skiing this year i'll simply go home, eat, stretch, and be out the door by 3:00 then return by 4 to go ski (except on fridays, which i'll probably make my off-day)

Getting a six-pack
I'm no body builder, i'm a runner (you know that). the first step it to get a low body fat percentage, so if you have to swim, lift, bike, or run, it will be very helpful for your core building. my goal for last summer was to get a six pack.. by the end of the summer you could say i had one( girls would say "omg u have a six pack? do you work out alot?"). not like those guys on tv but i had what you would call a runners sixpack, somewhat toned but it was usually visible without having to flex. since i already had a low body fat percentage (121 at 5' 11'') i immediatly changed my diet. all i drank was water- this was very helpful. i also ran 3-6 miles a day, swam half a mile each day, and did hanging crunches into my pool (3 sets of 50). there are a lot of little things that can help- at random times during the day just flex your abs, just do it. you dont have to strain too hard but it will add up. also, you'd be suprised that push-ups actually can help build your core. make sure your doing crunches. i have heard anywhere from 5-12 weeks to get substantial results in your abs (core area). in the end, your probably going to have to do endless situps, crunches, and pushups to get this region toned. it is widely known as the hardest muscle group to build on.

i also like winter running because of the no-competition element.. I'm mainly doing it to have use of the weight room, though. considering i live right up the street, its faster to go home at 2:35 and run then to wait at school til 3:15 to run.

Track and Field
I agree with this (although I got completely ignored when I pointed out that I had a thread, I'd rather it didn't happen again). lol george, i have to admit. the entire time i spent writing my response i was thinking of how you must have felt when i made a running thread. wow that was a long time ago. i know we're on good terms now, and if i'd let my thread fall into inactivity i probably wouldn't care as much. but seeing as we have a nice collective of runners over on my thread, i think its best for the runners on these boards to stay true to one thread. I mean, who am i to say that new running threads can't be created? its just common sense that theres only a need for one thread. also, i just realized i may have come off as a bit too harsh in my post. i'll edit that.

hey guys, how was everyone's thanksgiving break? did you run any races? i ran two over mine, a mile race sponsered by a local bar (go figure) and a 5k run. in the mile i smashed my old pr by 22 seconds and ran a 5:20, second in my agegroup 15-16 in the 5k (the next day) i ran a 19:45 on a hilly course. 9th overall, which wasn't bad. winter track season is hopefully starting tomorrow (just training) how are you guys doing? also- i was thinking about getting a legit looking track jacket so i won't look like a noob when i go to races, which color would you guys pick? i often wear black shorts, occasionally grey sweatpants, and black wind-pants for track season. http://www.oakley.com/catalog/products/master-track-jacket/411311-60B

noooo way jose. my thread has been around for almost 10 full months and has over 21 pages of posts. there is no reason that all running talk should be split across multiple threads. I'm very supportive of fellow athletes however i believe that we should revolve around a common thread.. i could see if mine was unactive but its getting posted on almost dailey. i'm sure you overlooked it. may i kindly direct you here- http://forum.tip.it/topic/230433-the-running-thread/

Im so confused
farming herbs while doing anything can yield a lot of profit.. if you combine it with runecrafting, hunting, or slayer, you'll find that the millions pile up very, very fast.

Broad bolt making?
thanks guys. i read an inactive guide on zybez where the guy claimed to have made huge profits. however, since the shop update, he announced that it no longer worked. obviously with the recent spike in broad bolts it still works in theory. even if i can only get 3k from each master every day thats still a good profit, and i'm sure i'll be able to find some on the ge. hell, i could even start a forum thread to get people to buy them and sell them to me. i guess this question is resolved unless anyone has done it recently and wishes to contribute. thanks again

Broad bolt making?
Ello and happy thanksgiving. I've been doing a lot of slayer lately and i was wondering if broad bolt making is a good way to make cash? looking at the prices, even if i buy all supplies from the GE I'll still be making quite a lot of money (as far as fletching is concerned).. have any of you done it? is it worth 300 points? thank you

The Running Thread
Hey guys! sorry i've been having some computer problems -.- i'll add that link to the first post right now, tell me if you want me to change anything in it. i was wondering how everybody's season went. how were your times? how did your team do? let me know! on a personal sidenote, i just got back from a race to find that my computer would actually turn on :D and that i smashed my PR by 39 seconds by running an 18:32 today :D:D and ps- i've been given the choice to get nike+(and a thing that holds it on my laces) or a fancy garmin watch for Christmas, which should i choose?
-
The Running Thread
That made me  I still need to buy the Sensor :-P i was actually considering buying a sensor towards the end of the summer, but i read a lot of bad reviews about the battery in it. for Christmas i can either get a fancy garmin or a nike+ chip/sensor.. i'm not sure which to get i'll add the link to the group tomorrow morning
