  1. No demand yet, but who's to say that if they ever release it through a quest they wouldn't give them another use?
  2. I would like to see another Temple Knights quest, we could use a better prayer armour then proselyte \
  3. These problems are alien to me, I only have 4 members in my 'family': grandparents, an uncle and my mum. Not going to labour on with the details, but suffice to say I don't know ANYONE from my dad's side, and barely know him. As such with a small family, we all get on well pretty much 99.9% of the time. I've never missed any of their birthdays etc unless it's been for a legitimate reason (we aren't in the same country at the time), but if I did have extended family I would never dream of pulling this stunt no matter how much I didn't like those people. In situations like this, you can pretty much guarantee that others will be there who are thinking the exact same thing as you so just pass time with them. Force yourself to like them, if you want. Just because your 26, you do not have a 'pass-go-skip-a-child's-birthday' card, whether or not they care that you're there is irrelevant. Surely that makes you the bigger man by showing your face even though you know it won't be appreciated by everyone. P.S. For those claiming that opinions like these are being 'shoved down their throats', answer this: if you won't make an effot for your own relatives, who will you make an effort for?
  4. The fact that the 13 year old (and probably the 15 year old too) still don't get the implications of having a child, especially at that age, is more disturbing than the fact that they had underage sex. Only just, mind, but it's there. It's obviously got to be left to the families to look after that child, as the parents just can not care for it adequately, however much they want to believe they can be good parents. They seem to think (especially the 13 year old) that being a good parent just means being around, and helping out with feeding and looking after etc etc. While those things are indeed things a good parent does, being an actual parent also involves being able to properly feed, clothe and generally look out for that child which means you need money. And a fair amount of it. IMO, this child should have been put up for adoption, or at the least left in the hands of foster parents... the families sound like they have enough on their plate already, and there is no realistic way that 'Alfie' or 'Chantelle' are going to be able to look out for it. Methinks the novelty of being a dad is going to get VERY old, VERY soon.
  5. Not to seem to spam-like, but gamertag is 'Immortal JAB'. Please, I need 'decent' people to play with, all I ever seem to get stuck with is mutes and people who think it's funny to block the survivors with generators
  6. This. It annoys me when people ignorantly assume that a feminist's goal is either A) to be better than men or B) to be treated like men. That's not what an honest, true-to-life feminist wants and anybody who listens to the fanatical ones are idiots. Women should be treated 'equal': everybody should appreciate differences between the genders (even if only physiological) but also understand that each have their 'intrinsic value', as has already been said.
  7. I think this sums it up quite well for me. I also think time spent day-dreaming or just sitting blankly is another waste of time, because both haven't really got you anywhere. To those who think day-dreaming isn't a waste of time, then just bare in mind that time spent imagining scenarios is less time available/wasted time actually carrying them through (assuming you're day-dreaming realistic scenarios :) ).
  8. 1. "Credit Crunch" - seriously, what sort of name is this? Makes the whole failing economy thing sound like a new breakfast cereal. 2. Big Brother - maybe not so much the word, but anything to do with this stupid programme, and ALL other 'reality tv' shows in existence or yet to be created. 3. Britney Spears - yes, she's a nutcase. I can haz newz now? 4. "Now for the news where YOU are" - a.k.a local news. I can't believe news programmes actually dumbed down for their audience. 5. The Beckhams - they went to America and we STILL have them shoved in our faces. 6. Pensioners - it's cold for EVERYBODY this time of year, not just some old guy sat on his 40 year old sofa with a jumper on. Young children and people suffering from untreatable illnesses are just as likely to 'suffer' because they can't afford the heating. That's my rant over. I know these are phrases rather than words, but tbh I would much rather remove these topics completely from the news.
  9. It should be illegal to complain about how much 'your life sucks' if your or your parent's wage is over a set threshold. Seriously, I'm so sick of running into people like this. If everything was so damn bad for them, why do they often walk around with the latest pointless technology that they don't actually need (like those iPods that can store more media on them than the person will ever listen to in their LIFE, nevermind what they want to hear again).
  10. This. Just a little measure such as only allowing buying or selling (randomized, some towns in the west buy and others sell and vice-versa) will at least breathe some life into the smaller areas.
  11. Like someone else already stated, the only tutorials/warnings that should be in the game is the already existing Tutorial for new players (all the tutors, e.g. smithing, woodcutting etc should be found here too instead of littering the main game, but that's just my opinion), the tutorials explaining how the minigames work and the warning you get when trying to enter a dark area without a light source (I can understand this being annoying to some, but tbh RS is a bit inconsistent in terms of what dungeons need light and which ones don't so I see the warning as fair). If you're at a level where you are considering finding out about the GWD, or are interested in what the Corporeal Beast is, then chances are you are at the level/intelligence to go and research this yourself. For factoids about something, check the KB and for actual guides to get you started so you can develop your own methods there are numerous fan-sites. I don't know about other players, but when I was a newb when I first got membership, I didn't explore ANY new area with my best equipment because I appreciated that although I would probably be able to defend myself, I knew that there was a risk that my inexperience would be the death of me. Luckily for me, when I was F2P I did a fair amount of reading about member's content before I went members myself, so I was actually well-prepared for exploring things I wasn't familiar with (e.g. starting the druidic ritual quest so I could make antipoisons for myself was the first thing I did, second was to train agility so when I need to run, I could recover run energy quicker). I can see your argument about the game being an overwhelming thing for a newb to learn about, but seriously if something has peaked his interest so much then there's no excuse for not reading around it. If there was explanations and warnings for every single dangerous thing he could do then he probably won't enjoy exploring these things as much.
  12. 1. Finders keepers indeed. Whether the original owner made it back to his 'death pile' or not, I would probably keep the money for myself. As despicable as it sounds, I think it's important to remember that HE/SHE's the one that lost the big pile of cash in the first place. 2. This depends; if the money was in a wallet then yes I would return it to the owner if I could (or just drop it off in the Lost & Found, whether or not the original owner claimed the money back isn't my problem). In terms of it being just money 'floating in the breeze', it would depend on the amount. If it were £100 I'd still try to find the owner if I could (obviously not trying to draw too much attention to myself, I don't want to be mugged after all), but if it were £20 or so then erm, yeh... it's mine now.
  13. Quite possibly something to do with the frozen wastes to the North, possibly the GWD. The drifting shadows bit may be a reference to the Mahjarrat(?), or some more information concerning Zaros. This bit is a little tricky, but the part about 'Time changes us all, as do curses' leads me to believe that someone has been trapped by a curse for many years (maybe Arrav, maybe the trapped soldier in the temple in Enakrah's Lament). I don't know where people are getting this 'Phoenix' idea from, a white bird is usually interprated as a Dove (peace) as opposed to a Phoenix usually depicted as red/orange :wall: . Etymology is the study of words and grammar, and their origins, and Ornithology is obviously the study of birds. The way that Bandos is referred to and the overuse of 'old' leads me to be believe that this hint is more about Bandos directly then simply another Goblin quest-line, but I'm probably wrong about that. This seems to be hinting towards some form of conflict (probably between the gods, or at least, their followers) disputing who actually 'owns' Runescape, so to speak. 'The Red and Green' may be a reference to Zamorak and Guthix, but that doesn't make much sense: why would Guthix and Zamorak be the sole gods disputing this, unless of course Zamorak has found a way to return to this realm (as he was banished by Guthix I believe?). I just think this because weren't the mourners trying to bring him back, or something. And this bit just sounds like some sort of metal dragon (because if dragons were real, I'm sure they would be classified as a reptile?) :|
  14. Surely in order for this to be a debate, you need to post your view? Because you know, those 3 words equate to spam. Regardless of this, I shall impart my view on this: Price Manipulation, simply put, is wrong. Just because the G.E. may be 'flawed' (who defines the flawed 'prices' anyway? Players too scared of change, that's who. But that is for another debate), doesn't mean that players should use things like junk trades or whatever to squeeze the price out of the players too stupid or impatient to go through the system JaGex would prefer us to use. I know some people who bought expensive items are angry at the fact that the G.E. nowhere near matches the price they paid for the item 'back in the day', but tbh times change. If everyone got back exactly what they put in for something, life would never be a dissapointment. It's also wrong because it only favours who already have the GP to take advantage of it (the rich get richer, anyone?). Why should they be able to control how much profit they make? Surely it should be down to pure and simple supply and demand.
  15. I agree that some of the lesser-censored words such as 'suck' and whatever shouldn't be filtered. The easiest way to deal with this is for there to be an option where the user can define a list of words that they do not want to be filtered. So those that do wish to see strong swear words can, and those who do not want to do not have to.
  16. My name only has numbers in it because 'Hydra' was already taken, so I added my favourite number and repeated it 5 times. Coincidence, I think not! :D But I got owned when Summoning came out, because now people can argue I'm named after a familiar :(
  17. I haven't read through the WHOLE thread, so I'm sorry if I'm making a redundant point but... If any member's skill should be opened up to f2p, then it's fletching. I could never understand why Jagex allowed f2p to make their own runes (for magic or whatever), but not allow them to make arrows for their bows? This wouldn't even require the introduction of anything totally radical if they just limited f2p to making arrows only (as they already have access to knives, feathers and logs) as they would only have to make arrowheads smithable by f2p. Probably would be a good idea if they only allowed up to addy, as that is the best ammo a f2p aquired bow can fire. Tbh I think this only makes it fairer... well, either that or make all of RC member only so mages have to buy their own ammo too. (Hopefully this would also result in only one type of ess \ )
  18. You're actually on to something good here... it would be awesome if the different clan wars arenas were modelled on either existing mini-game maps or certain locations. Imagine holding a clan war in an arena that looks like Varrock, or Castle Wars, or even some forested area that looks like Isafdar? That would certainly add something new to the game \
  19. Freneskae (I think that's right) was home to the Mahjarrat, but I've never heard anything about these Necrofei..? I always just believed the lores that said the Dragonkin fashioned Dragon weapons and armour as a response to the fact they were immortal, but not invincible. Btw Mahjarrat are not immortal, just very long-living :P I'm hoping that one of these hyped-up upcoming quest are finally going to take us to that damn island the museum has been promising to take us on for ages now. Zaros had his empire in that kingdom, so who knows
  20. It would be nice to have a Tip.It article that isn't concerned with the RS economy for once, but hey. I agree with most of what the author wrote, hopefully at least us producers can sell the supplies for a bit more cash with the upcoming update.
  21. Actually, you kinda contradicted yourself. How have they nerfed RC exactly? The way I see it they actually encouraged MORE people to RC to level 50 (even if it is only up until that point). Like someone already said, 50 RC is a requirement for Quest Cape, so for a start people levelling for the minigame can also be ready for that path. Also, some people might get to level 50 RC and think 'Hmm... while I'm at it I'll train until I can craft Laws' and so on. If Jagex only convinces one person to keep training RC, then they have succeeded tbh because it is such a grind to RC.
  22. My parents didn't stop me from playing the game, as such, they just imposed some serious negative 'overtones' if I played during certain times, such as when I had long-term coursework 'I could be working on'. Yes, long term means 5 months... I think I can write 3000 words in 5 months, thank you -.- . But anyway, I'm starting my first year of University this September, and I don't intend to stop playing just because I'm continuing further education. Obviously, I will prioritise accordingly but at the end of the day you shouldn't have to stop what you enjoy doing. I think my parents don't know of my intentions (in fact I believe they're hoping it will stop when I leave) but tbh it'll be none of their business come September : . In response to some of those that complain about their parents: I may not agree with what mine say all the time, especially concerning video games, but I can totally understand their viewpoint. As a RS player, YOU can see the gains you're making, the friends you're meeting and so on. Most, if not all parents, can only see you... sat at a computer... nonstop... for however many hours. Of course they're then going to think you're 'wasting your time'. Plus, you know, parents expect you to be educating yourself 24/7 : .
  23. Want a holiday item? Buy a christmas cracker, and find some RL friends to pull it with  you'll both get a partyhat and can revel in geekish delight for several hours /offtopic. I think the shirts and hoodies in the store are ok, but I'd never buy them simply because I don't like clothes with advertisements on them. The RS Mouse and Mousepads sound interesting, but I think the RS Mug was a last minute attempt to incorporate any customers that aren't under the age of 25 :-# Tbh, they would maybe have had a bit more success if they had brought out some figurines, maybe? People can by them for display, and none of their RL contacts need to know they own them  . Maybe even partner up with Lego or something for the younger kids :ohnoes: so they can recreate the most dangerous of battles .
  24. That is quite possibly the most awesome suggestion ever! The Varrock Museum has told us for what seems like an eternity that they're planning some expedition to the 'north', and the whole thing about the remaining Mahjarrat returning to the north... who knows? I was also thinking, with the emphasis on it being more difficult than RFD maybe it is... a GWD quest?! Go into the door if you dare...
  25. The ceilings and floors would need to be much looser along with a quick 'hotfix' by Jagex to fix the prices... the ceilings and floors still need to exist in some sense so that some items don't become ludicrously expensive (normal rune armour set: 800k, how would most newish players cope with that?) but at the same time will perfectly adjust to the supply and demand of said items, so things like rares will actually be sold by themselves on the G.E.
