You have absolutely no business complaining that Jagex is making the game more fun for free players. One, it's ridiculous, because you're untouched by it, and two, it's nothing but pure spite. Why do you care if other people have more fun playing the game if it doesn't detract from your experience? Do you think it would be a good idea to, say, change Varrock to a members-only area? "Oh, they're f2p, they can just pay the $6 if they want to go to Varrock!" Because it seems like your opinion of f2p is that they don't deserve to play the game unless they fork over the membership fee.

It's some of both. It's random, but it's based on how fast you're getting your logs. (And the rabbit's foot, of course.) The fastest bird's nests come from cutting oaks, but since oaks are pretty bad experience, I recommend teaks. The faster the chop rate, the better.

it's safe to speculate that saradomin got his hands on the stone at some point the walls of FoG have saradominist markings on it perhaps the FoG was where guthix once hit the stone and where saradomin found it this is nowhere near the lunar isles so it's definitely not where V------ found it. It's confirmed from Movario's notes that the Stone of Jas once resided there, and it's confirmed from Postbag from the Hedge that the Saradomin markings were carved by Saradominists attempting to make a temple out of the place. They were quickly chased away by Fiara, but managed to spraypaint their gang logo (or something to that effect) on the walls first.

Because all of your time ingame should be defined by how much profit you can squeeze out of a short period of time... :D I bring it up because it was mentioned in the OP that cats are 23k every 4 hours, that's all. Fruit bats are more than double that. Hence, summoning ftw. :thumbup:

You get more cash from familiars. A fruit bat is ~10k profit every 45 minutes at last count. Much more than cats.

You only need the medium tasks to get the increased flax spinning speed; I believe it was changed in the same update as Soul Wars. Seers' was slower, but it is now faster than Lumbridge and Neitiznot because of the increased spinning speed.

It stacks with familiars, but the bonus is too small to be noticeable.

I first got a champion scroll at armoured zombies, and I'd highly recommend them for it, because you wouldn't need to sacrifice any training speed for the champion scroll. As for the music track, just go all the way down to the Kings and you should get it at some point or other.

They're worthless for fishing. If you need a temporary boost, they give 1 less extra level than an admiral pie anyway.

I think it's meant to be more like Castle Wars, where the game itself is its own reward. And I guess that's not all bad, since it'll deter freeloaders I s'pose.

Oh, I wasn't speaking specifically about the fake image. That much was pretty obvious, really. I was just talking about whether there's an uber-rare drop, just in general. I think there probably isn't. What he meant was that updates are going to be more of a surprise from now on, since they're doing away with the BTS feature. Not that it really matters, but... Gertjaars has more total experience now, so if you're waiting for Zezima to be number 1 again, it's not necessarily going to happen as soon as he gets around to maxed total. Zezima's not number 1? I was under the impression that he still was. At any rate, my "famous person sighting" would be 777knight777, the #1 ranked fisher and first to 200m fishing xp. It wasn't so much a sighting as it was training in the same spot and world for 2 months--my 99 fishing goal happened to coincide with his 200m fishing experience goal. I only ever saw him wearing that outfit...it's him on the right and me on the left there.

Ooh is it storytime? :) My first attempt was actually for 99 hunter...well, speculatively. I took the goal in stages: 66 for the spottier cape, 74 for ninja implings, 80 for quintuple traps, 83 for dragon implings, then eventually 99. But circumstances forced me to give up my goal. I just didn't have a reliable internet connection, and I couldn't stand training hunter if I was periodically going to be losing all my traps to an accidental logout. And what made it worse was the crowding. When I would log back in, my spot would have been taken in the minutes I had been gone. And when I logged in for the first time, I'd have to hop until I found a spot I could set up in. So when I got to my penultimate goal of level 83, I gave up, and I haven't trained hunter since except to respond to clanmates announcing spotted dragon implings, and the one time I made a forge regent pouch from scratch the day I did the Seers' Village diary, and a couple of quests that happened to give hunter experience. I have no regrets over leaving the skill, because it's not as if additional hunter levels would have given me any advantage in the game. I'm already high enough to do everything the skill has to offer. Perhaps someday I will return to it when the skill is updated. I didn't try for another skillcape until...as a matter of fact, I believe I started on 99 fishing almost exactly a year ago. That was a goal I eventually achieved, with the support of my fishing clan, of which I am still...I guess I could say a loyal member. And on that road I also went from 63-74 agility, 67-76 strength, and 79-84 cooking, thanks to the miracle of heavy rod fishing, which has since diminished slightly in capacity (no more cooking experience at maximum rates) but not in value.

If 1000 hours gets you only 70m, you're either a free player who should have subscribed a long time ago, or you're doing something wrong. That's only 70k gp/hr. You get better cash training your combat at armoured zombies, and the experience is faster too. It's more like getting 99 fishing at sharks. The total money you make is about twice that of what you'd make getting monkfish, but it's not because it's a better moneymaker, it's because it's slower experience and you need to spend twice as long to get the same level-up. If you spent the same amount of time catching monkfish as you spent catching sharks, you'd have the same amount of money and double the fishing experience.

Acknowledging the opposition, making concessions where you agree with them, and then refuting their argument...it can do a lot to increase your ethos and make your own argument more persuasive. (You learn this stuff when you've taken English classes taught by the coach of the debate team. Sure beats Lord of the Flies if you ask me. :) ) I thought of pointing it out myself when TS Stormrage posted that he got complaints from people who thought he didn't cover all the sides of the story, but I suppose I just never did.
