The fastest option is actually to have the friend put their house in Pollnivneach, and teleport there with a slayer ring. Or use your own house--with a crystal saw and gilded tea, you can build a gilded altar with 69 construction.
  2. It is a fool who thinks he knows everything, for only a wise man understands that he knows nothing. :ugeek: So the only people allowed in should be the ones who check the "Stupid" box, because the stupid people want to look like they're smart, and the truly intelligent people will realize it's a trick and check the "Stupid" box.
  3. Well, the nice thing about having NPCs sell party hats and such would be that they could stay tradable, and the GE price could be matched up with the shop price. (Also, it would pave the way for amusing bits of dialogue making references to how cheap and worthless the items used to be. "You can pop the cracker with a friend, and one person will get a valuable piece of rune armour!") I could easily imagine Party Pete taking up the sacred cause of spreading the party fever. And I bet we could do some haggling with Death to buy some Masks. Perhaps every Wintumber season Santa could stop in Runescape to sell Santa Hats. This sort of thing would replenish the supply of rares without diminishing their value, because the value would then become set based on the price they're now sold for. (As for edibles, we've already had untradable easter eggs that dissolve after the holiday is over...the same could be done for pumpkins. Non-wearables like half-wines and disks of returning can, in my opinion, be ignored and allowed to disappear, as they have no use within the game.) Is it really necessary to inject a new supply of party hats into the game? Probably not...yet. But in a few years...well, who knows?

are magics good anymore At 99 woodcutting I average 120 magic logs per hour. Not good cash.
  5. Actually, I'd much rather have an easter ring than bunny ears. And I would want a scythe to match my Grim Reaper Hood, not because it's rare.
  6. I looked at that graph and super restore potions looked quite good to me. Do you think they're worth making? Yes, they're pretty cost-effective, and not too difficult to buy and sell the stuff.
  7. Of course there's an increase in speed. But it's mostly uniform, that is, each level-up gives about the same increase in speed. There's no level where it suddenly becomes fast--it'll just always get slightly faster as you level, and the fastest it ends up getting is still too slow to be good money.
  8. Never. Not even with 99 woodcutting and a dragon axe with 4 yew trees all to yourself right next to a bank. They are always slow. Same with coal.
  9. This would actually be a great idea someday, as the supply of rares slowly dwindles.
  10. That only works in multicombat zones. Green drags are single combat.
  11. In the Chaos Tunnels it's not too hard to position yourself with the green dragon in between you and the baby blacks so that you don't need to take on multiple enemies at once. So you could probably kill 'em there without too much trouble. As for revenant attacks, they're quite commonplace. I don't spend much time at green dragons, but if you're well-prepared for a revenant attack you shouldn't have much trouble surviving--wearing dragonhide to block magic attacks and using protection from ranged to stop them from freezing you pretty much guarantees that you can safely escape just by running away. Also, if there are any trees or similar objects in the area, revenants can be trapped behind them until you can log out and switch worlds. Keep your health at a safe level and you shouldn't need to worry about dying. Even if you did die, the dragons are pretty close to Clan Wars, so a quick Games Necklace teleport can easily get you back to your gravestone to reclaim your items. The real concern is how the lost time will eat into your profits.
  12. There are better uses for your points than the hatchet. Taking into account the time needed to earn the points, the morphic hatchet provides slower experience than a dragon axe would if you'd spent the extra time doing more chopping instead of playing SC. However, with the actual minigame time behind you already, you'd achieve your goal sooner with morphic hatchets...it's just that those points would probably have been better spent on, say, hammers. Of course at this point it's too late to go back and use a dragon axe instead of playing SC, since you already got the points. With that in mind, you can feel fine about spending them on hatchets if that's what you want.
  13. I'm guessing you haven't done Ratcatchers. Dodging the guards in the mansion was hell. Distilling the coal in Regicide and MEP1 was also a pain.
  14. This is all beside the point, because the topic is supposed to be about whether it's worth training slayer specifically as a method of training ranged. And on that subject, I feel I've made my point thoroughly enough. Rather then go further out on this tangent, I'd direct you to the other slayer thread, which is a more appropriate one for discussing the profits you may get as a result of slayer training.

Cannon and combat familiars are a significant factor. Also, a Slayer Helmet + Fury provides a larger boost than Salve (e) + Neitiznot. Cannons are an inefficient method of training ranged though, and they don't add to your melee experience, just the slayer experience. How are you putting together two slower training methods and getting a faster training method? If you're putting stuff together, shouldn't you be combining two fast methods? And if you need a geyser titan for slayer to be more efficient, that's a pretty heavy qualifier.

How are you getting faster experience on your slayer tasks than at armoured zombies? You have a slayer helm instead of a salve (e), and you're using superhuman strength instead of piety...am I missing something? How could you possibly be going faster with weaker damage boosts?
  17. LMAO! Grouchy old man. Sorry, but you DO sound like one. I remember an article I read somewhere....talking about RS, and how life is getting easier in it....It makes a parable involving an old man who grew up without toilets, and young kids who grew up with them. The moral was that, just because you didn't grow up with them and you walked 25miles through 20 feet of snow, uphill both ways. just to get to that outhouse...o.O That doesn't mean the next generation should have to do that same walk instead of using a toilet. Besides, I LIKE being able to get my stuff back :P And, the bless thing was made to replace teammates who couldn't pick up your stuff. Quest boss monsters and such are areas where it would be impossible for someone to pick up your stuff, thus no gravestones. Something I dislike, simply because most people doing these quests don't know that. Either put gravestones or give a warning. And I mean, unless you played back when gravestones came out, you would have no way of knowing this. http://www.truthscape.com/html/ts_TheTruthScapeSoapboxIssue11PleaseDontResentMyToile.htm ^ I still link to that one when people start complaining that new updates are making the game too easy. I like gravestones. They look cool, and I like having 5 minutes to retrieve my items lost on death.

Yeah, yews are really slow cash. I'd definitely advise against them.
  19. No you can't. #-o Yeah, I'd say sell all the planks except the oaks. I don't know if they're enough for 69 construction, but I do know that they're better for training than teaks, and much better than regular planks.
  20. Which queen? Ice queen? Easy to solo, but all she drops are ice gloves. Penance queen? Impossible to solo, you need a team of five people working together. Queen Ellamaria of Varrock? She may be a little rude at times, but that's no reason to want to kill her...geez. The Fairy Queen? You don't wanna kill her, that's throw the seasons all out of whack. Queen Sigrid of Etceteria? Why would you want to solo her, she has terrible drops. The Queen of Snow? The Christmas '07 event is over and you can't reach her anymore, sorry.
  21. You know, the ones you can make with barbed bolt tips that you buy from the Ranging Guild with archery tickets. I noticed a while ago that they exist, and there doesn't seem to be any information anywhere on what they actually do. Is it just more damage than regular bronze bolts, or what? :-s
  22. Well no, because you'd get the same drops at the same speed. :? Again, that depends on how much you value Slayer experience and total levels. No, you'll get the same loot no matter how much you value total experience, actually. #-o
  23. But you'd still get potential for the time you're not using protect item, no?
  24. Evil stew can give +6, and magic potion is +4. I recommend using a magic potion from lv62; it's probably the best way. As for dropping the clue, that's what I would do in the same situation, but it's still worth getting the 62 magic to do Swan Song later on.
  25. They'd both be very slow for money and, speaking as a player with 99 in fishing and woodcutting, I wouldn't recommend either skill as a moneymaker.
