  1. You failed to mention snapdragon and kwuarm farming, which are both just as good/better than ranarr farming once you can do em. You also need to not use the dark green font color, since it's impossible to read on the dark grey background. Wrong. There is no "or." It is supercompost only. With the incredibly low prices of supercompost and the even lower prices of pineapples and watermelons, you should have no reason to use regular compost. Shame on you for advising it. Wrong. The 5th patch is very quick to reach and is protected 100% from disease. And the quest is simple and entertaining--best cutscenes of any quest by far. You get to watch the Drunken Dwarf be knocked off a cliff and then get his leg eaten by a baby troll. Now that's what I'm talking about. You should buy a big lot of seeds in advance so you can go on many runs before they run out. Having to buy new seeds every run makes it take longer. A skills necklace is faster. Method 1: You can sell your ranarrs, using the grand exchange, this is the most profitable method. Ranarrs are 7k each in Grand Exchange. Your profit using this method is: 28 Ranarrs * 7k = 196k 196k minus the 80k spent on seeds: 116k profit with 5 minutes effort Method 2: You can use your ranarrs to make prayer potions, this way you will gain herblore AND farming exp! You can then sell the prayer potions, or do barrows or kill aviansies with them (I killed aviansies) Because knowing that you will get atleast 20 prayer potions each hour, and knowing that you will drink 15 prayer potions per hour at barrows/aviansies, will ALWAYS make you break even OR make profit![/color] You forgot making them into unfinished potions before you sell them. The unf pot is worth more than just the herb, and people do buy them. You mean Range Guild I assume. Combat bracelet can't teleport you to the Legends Guild. Although you could take the fairy ring BLR--there's another ring south of the Phasmatys patch, so it's a fair possibility. Well, other than these mistakes, you have a good guide. Excellent pictures, and you've motivated some new people to train a great underrated skill. Kudos.
  2. Forget "enchanted" items. We already have enchanted helmets that hold summoning scrolls right? Let's see some flaming weapons! Yeah! A use for firemaking! Don't forget that another way to solve the problem of "too many Rune 2Hs" is to create new ways of training that aren't endlessly processing inputs into useless outputs. It would be great to see some minigames for fletching or herblore or crafting in the spirit of Pest Control or Vinesweeper.
  3. Yarr, matey! Be ye fergettin' the role-playin' value of a good costume, ye lily-livered landlubber? Now me right hand I lost to a shark, aye. Tried to catch it with me hands, but I was on'y 95 fishin' at the time. Yarr, blood everywhere. Not pretty, nay. An' me hook I got after a tragic fletchin' accident. Me hand slipped. Hard to hold a knife in a crab claw, ye see. An' the patch, well, I splashed a bit o' water in me eye. Not so bad norm'ly, but 'twas me first day with the hook. Now I be knowin' better'n to be rubbin' me eyes all the time.
  4. spam noob much? Well excuse me for answering the question that was asked, Mr. " :x :( :( :( ." I'm farly certain that a combat bracelet is indeed the fastest way to get to monks, thank you very much. It's very useful if you need to quickly restore your health and prayer.
  5. Well the fastest way to get to monks is probably to teleport to the Monastery with a combat bracelet. There are a lot of monks there. :P
  6. No, lobsters are never faster experience or money than monkfish. They catch slightly faster, but they're so much less exp and profit per fish that it doesn't matter. You'd need to catch 4 lobsters for every 3 monkfish, and they just aren't that much faster. At best you might catch 7 lobsters for every 6 monkfish. The catch rate is nearly identical. Monkfish are the best experience from 62-70. Fly fishing may be faster, but the extra speed isn't big enough to match the amount of money you're losing out on. Not with monkfish prices above 450 each. You'd need to make over 400k/hr for that NOT to be a good deal. You're 77, so the only other option is heavy rod fishing. It's faster and gives experience in other skills as well as fishing, but it doesn't give a profit. If you want to speed up your training though, you could mix it in with your monkfishing. Maybe do heavy rod 77-93 and monkfish 93-99. That's about half and half. You'd average 40k exp/hr and 60k gp/hr between the two, give or take, and you'd end up with something like 500k agil/str exp and 1m cooking exp.
  7. You're welcome. And I hope you're prepared to do it again, because your pouch is destroyed during the quest. Stupid ninja.
  8. The answer to your question is bandos, but with the money it takes to buy bandos you could get more than 20 full sets of torag's and it would take about 300 hours for them all to degrade. You could probably get 99 hp in that time.
  9. Fire strike is technically most effective against Salarin the Twisted, since it hits 12 on him every cast. It's also worth mentioning the fire mage south of Falador who can take fire strikes all day and never die, so you don't need to click more than once. Other than that, any low-def monster is fine, especially if there's a safespot for it.
  10. Until quite recently the same was true of bloods as well. And deaths weren't available until after Mourning's Ends Part 2.
  11. Troacctid replied to RedRave's topic in Help and Advice
You were just unlucky that time. I doubt a ring of wealth would make a difference for addy bar drops, since they're not a rare drop. :P Then again, unless you have an archer ring, what else are you going to wear, right?
  12. The most profitable color is going to change with the market's daily fluctuations, although I suppose green is likely to be the easiest to buy and sell. As for the fastest way, it would be using a skills necklace to the crafting guild and banking with a ring of dueling. You would want a decent supply of necklaces so you don't need to recharge as often, just as you would with using glories for abyss runecrafting. And you should use super energies, because the faster speed more than pays for the potions. If you haven't done Legends Quest, you can just tan in Al-kharid.
  13. Er, no...it still takes up 1 space in your inventory.
  14. Actually, said chest has recently been un-nerfed.
  15. I've heard that it's possible to make an average of like 700k/hr off Spiritual Mages. That's about as good as it gets without having 91 runecrafting or getting a hilt drop or something.
  16. I think just mining pure essence would be faster cash than both of those.
  17. Wait, are you saying now that respect isn't based on expense OR usefulness? Look, if you want to defend your view, just get to the point and say exactly why cooking is not a respectable 99 skill. Otherwise, there's no point in arguing--you can just say "I don't like cooking" and be done, fair enough? It's not what the thread is about anyway.
  18. No, i made the compaison between santa hats and party hats. Both serve the same purpose but cost alot difference, hence the respect diference. But you also said this: Wow, what a surprise. You have an ignorant, worthless opinion. There is no real way to break even; best bet would be lobsters/monkfish/sharks or whatever the typical method is all the way. Ok smart [wagon], explain to me how 99 cooking is useful. If you cook 1 lobster past 99 you go up like 10,000 ranks. It takes >2 hours to get a fire cape, and that has much more respect than a cooking cape, and better stats also. ...Implying that usefulness is your criteria for judging respect, not cost. A fire cape is cheaper to get than a cooking cape, methinks.
  19. You're measuring noobiness by how useful the cape is? So I assume you think herblore is an even noobier cape, right? If that was your standard, slayer would be a noobier cape than cooking, since the highest slayer you need to kill a monster is 90, but the highest cooking you need for a dish is 95. I love smart people like you. =D> 83 Slayer > Dragon Boots 85 Slayer > Abyssal Whip 90 Slayer > Dark Bow 99 cooking > congratulations, you still have a 100% chance of continuing to loose money if you train this skill You dont get the point, nearly all skills max out before level 99. And please don't compare it to herblore. It's like comparing santa hats and party hats. They both serve the same purpose, yet one is worth alot more. You forgot: 90-99 slayer > 8m exp that does nothing. 90-99 cooking > 8m exp that actually has an effect on gameplay. I didn't say the skill was more useful. I said the skillcape was. Level 90 is a looong way from level 99. It's fitting how you should compare an herblore cape to a party hat in terms of usefulness. :
  20. You're measuring noobiness by how useful the cape is? So I assume you think herblore is an even noobier cape, right? If that was your standard, slayer would be a noobier cape than cooking, since the highest slayer you need to kill a monster is 90, but the highest cooking you need for a dish is 95.
  21. Spicy stews and the player-brewed Axeman's Folly.
  22. Actually, I don't know the burn rates. But in order to profit at the current median prices, you can't burn more than 1 in 5 manta rays or 1 in 9 sea turtles.
  23. I used the shotput with the Oo'glog sal[bleep]er spring for infinite energy. Not sure how fast it is to animate armour, but this was some quick stuff.
  24. cooking fish does not profit except for the 2 trawler fish And because of burn rates you lose money on those, too.
