  1. No...I'll have to check into that. Never heard of it? Do Smoking Kills. Then you get access to some very cool rewards. You know, the multipurpose Slayer Helmets, the useful and inexpensive Slayer Rings, and the ability to fletch Broad Arrows and Broad-Tipped Bolts for very cheap. Not to mention the ability to permanently block up to 4 assignments. And if none of those appeal to you, you can get raw cash out of em--or at least, cash in the form of large quantities of runes.
  2. You should get prayer, because 99 herblore is just a fancy cape...all the possible applications of the skill end at 85, so you're essentially wasting millions on 10m exp for no benefit. Since you had to ask, you obviously aren't in love with the skill enough to train it for its own sake, so go with the useful one.
  3. Try adjusting your playing style so that you're making efficient use of your time and money. It tends to make you richer in the long-term--just don't let it trump your enjoyment of the game, of course.
  4. All we really know is that it increases the probability of getting a rare drop from a monster. We don't really know how much it helps. But I would definitely consider dragon items to be a rare drop, since they're apparently rare enough to be counted for coinshare. And I don't think there's any question that the draconic visage is a rare drop. So the ring of wealth will absolutely increase the odds of getting them as a drop. That doesn't mean you don't still have to be incredibly lucky, but it should help.
  5. Oh, it is on. It's been hundreds of beavers, but my evil plan is to get 99 wc before you, then flood the market with 65k eucalyptus logs just before you try to sell all of yours! And it is about to come to fruition! Bwahahahahaha!
  6. Keep your barrows. The stats are great and the repairs are nothing. 15 hours to degrade? Yeah you can manage that. :P Sharks aren't very good money either.
  7. Well, if it helps at all, chopping teaks is as much as 10k exp/hr faster than chopping willows. So if it's just the fast xp you're after, try those.
  8. Oh, the monks won't attack you if you telegrab. So defence won't matter.
  9. So thieving is more work than firemaking? Isn't that a little silly? Considering that thieving is faster to get to 99. I don't know how you think of "buying" skills, but you don't just pay a genie 110m gp and instantly get 99 prayer. it may be faster...in some ways, but at least you didn't "cheat" your way by buying a bunch of logs to burn. no, what you do is BUY BONES to get to lvl 99! doh! So in other words, you pay a Grand Exchange 110m and instantly get 99 prayer? And where do you think the money comes from? This isn't real life, where loads of rich people just inherited their fortunes from their families. You can't just instantly get 110m to pay for those bones. In fact, you could get 99 fishing TWICE and still not have that much. So again, another "buyable" skill that takes a lot longer than that other supposedly "non-buyable" skill.

  11. Well, that's one way to get 7m gp/hr. how the heck would that get you 7m gp/hr?!?! You can easily burn 1.1k logs in an hour...so there you go, an average of eleven left halves. Lol.
  12. Well, that's one way to get 7m gp/hr.
  13. This is what some special abilities are for. You know the scrolls that "send your familiar to attack the enemy"? Presumably they'll work even if you aren;t under attack.
  14. you're forgetting grand exchange merchanting. I just made 10M merchanting with the GE. Oh yes, that. That doesn't take combat either.
  15. It shouldn't be a huge surprise that a player with low combat is rich in f2p. I mean, what moneymakers can you use combat for in f2p? Roaches? They aren't that fast. All the biggest f2p moneymakers are skills. Combat doesn't help you much if you want to make money. In fact, it's a big drain on your money if you keep buying food and arrows and runes and armor and all that, or if you spend all your time training on spiders or flesh crawlers and not getting any profit. You don't need any combat requirement to craft air runes or mine runite, and are those not the fastest moneymakers in free play?
  16. It's been mentioned earlier in the thread, but when quick chat was released, Jagex saw fit to lift the age limit to play runescape. You're no longer required to be 13 or older to sign up. However, anybody who is under 13 will be limited only to the quick chat system. They can't hear or speak anything else. It very quickly became apparent that this was confusing for any underage players and 13+ players who tried to interact. The younger player would ask a question in quick chat, and the older player would respond in public chat, and the younger player wouldn't hear, etc. So Jagex made worlds 160 and 161 where that problem doesn't come up.

If they're the same speed as lobs, why wait 3 levels? You should begin catching monkfish as soon as possible. They're the absolute best moneymaker for training fishing. Because they might not be the same speed as lobs at 62, than at 65. Lobsters are faster at 65 too.
  18. If you do alch, it's good to go to a place where you can recoup your losses. For example, collect swamp tar in the Lady Zay (pirate ship from Lunar Diplomacy) and alch as you wait for it to respawn.
  19. Trouble Brewing isn't a quest, it's a minigame :? I meant Contact. You don't get lamps from Trouble Brewing. Unless I missed something.
  20. Play Trouble Brewing and try to get enough pieces of eight for full navy, a phasmatys flag, and all the 'rum' you could drink (if it didn't dissolve your liver). Not a lot of people can claim to have accomplished that.
  21. You should teleport. It saves time and run energy, and the cost of the laws is alleviated by the cost of the ores. Losing 3 spaces is well worth cutting your running time in half.

Before the Summoning 2 came out, the exp you got from familiars was a tenth of the exp you got normally. In between, they removed the experience and added it back again, so it might have changed, but I'm assuming it's still 10%. And yeah, you need to be fishing.
  24. I seem to recall using my reward from that quest on Summoning. So unless I recall incorrectly, it should work. Either way, it's not as if it would stop you doing the quest, right?
  25. You could also use the potion on a single bucket of compost in your inventory, but that seems such a waste, don't you think?
