  1. Generally, it's waste of time to make junk yourself when you could spend that time doing something that actually gives real profit instead of junk profit. The best junk is junk that you already have--e.g. 10m needles you got randomly at a drop party, or 20k maple longs (u) you used for trainign fletching a while ago, or large quantities of unfinished Guthix Balance Potions you used to train herblore, or a big pile of Adamant Javelins you got as drops at some point. Or, you could do a junk trade on the buying end. Buy somebody's Top Hat or whatever at whatever ridiculous price they want and reuse the junk to sell your 3rd Age thingy, and you've just gotten a damn good deal on a Top Hat.
  2. You're clearly too poor to chop willows at this point. You'd be two thirds of the way to 99 before you'd have enough willows to buy a dragon axe. I recommend chopping yews until you can afford your d axe, then continuing at yews all the way until 99. You will appreciate being rich a lot more than the time you save. It's only worth it to do willows instead of yews if you make like 300k gp/hr. And if you make that much it's better to do teaks instead of willows anyway, because you only earn 3.4m if you get 99 at willows--that's not worth the ~30 hours you save at teaks.
  3. Hey, beats Shilo. Shilo is also 40k/hr, but no agility exp and a lot less cash. Do yourself a favor though and do monks over sharks...in the current market, you actually get faster money catching monkfish than you do catching sharks (although it is close). And triple the experience rates, of course.
  4. West of Catherby. It's crowded, but the high number of tree spawns can sustain a large number of people, so you oughta be fine.
  5. Honestly, I didn't find the heavy rod fishing very click-intensive, mainly because every ~15 seconds of quick clicking was interrupted by another ~90 seconds of sitting back and watching your character fish. The real drawback, in my opinion, is that it eats up your chat box like no tomorrow. On a side note, world 22 is the hotspot for heavy rod fishing. You can usually find some company there if you prefer not to fish alone.
  6. Teaks are something like 10k/hr faster than willows. That's quite a bit of time if you're going for 99, even if you're 90 already. The rock-bottom willow prices can't even come close to making up for the extra time they take, so unless you REALLY hate them, teaks are going to be a better option than willows. Then there's yews, which are another great option if you prefer to actually get some cash for your time, aside from a few occasional high-end seeds. If you can make cash quick enough they're not worth the extra time, but I don't know how quick "quick enough" would be right now, I'm afraid. My guess is something like 300k/hr, but don't you dare quote me on that. Another very little-known option is the eucalyptus tree. I've taken it upon myself to research this method, and after more than 24 total hours of testing, I've determined that you can get about 290 logs an hour there, give or take. 40-50k exp/hr, and you shouldn't need to sell for anything less than 340 each.
  7. Because the people here who are referencing drugs are so mature, right?
  8. Yes, so long as you haven't visited the Abyss in the last few minutes.
  9. Alching ain't even close to the fastest way to go. For example, you could stun, or cast humidify on a single fishbowl, or use plank-make, or string jewellery, or even faster, use ice barrage. Of course, all those are pretty expensive. But alching is mostly in the middle. It's medium experience at a relatively minor loss, and if you forgo some of the exp you can easily multitask doing things like, as you mentioned, mining runite.
  10. None of them look good with d legs imo. The bright red doesn't match the dull earth tones of the barrows gear. You should just get a barrows platelegs.
  11. I've done some laps around the city and I'll tell you, it's not so easy. :? It's good experience, and you get some bonus experience for every like 10 or 20 orbs you repair...the trouble is you can only repair the broken orbs, and if you wanna do that, you gotta find em first. :P I would recommend bringing some light orbs if you're thieving the chests there, and just fix any broken lamps you come across. It's decent thieving experience once you can pick-lock the rich chests, although it's damn slow compared to how fast other methods can be. But I like the charms, and there's more variety to it than knocking out the same Menaphite Thug repeatedly. I just wish there was a summoning obelisk somewhere around the place. But I digress. The real issue here is that firemaking sucks right now. After level 65, it's only useful for burning Fiyr shades (and you probably get just as much cash by selling the sacred oil and magic logs separately anyway) and killing Mithril Dragons. And even at 65 all you really get is a wearable light source, which is pretty narrow if I may say so myself. We need the ability to make flaming weapons!
  12. only in melee. Torag legs actually have almost 30 more range def than say, verac skirt. T Helm is best at range def too. So if you plan to tank range anything use torag =P Well the question wasn't about the legs, silly...it was about the platebodies. :P
  13. Yeah, I don't think Catapult Construction counts either. Still wondering what Prifddinis is like. =P~
  14. They're identical in their stats. Get whichever's the cheapest.
  15. Might as well use Ahrim's. Repair costs are dirt cheap.
  16. As far as faster xp, it isn't. But you asked about better xp, and I'll say the quality of the experience is certainly higher. I would personally value slayer experience a lot higher than strength experience. And if you plan on ever training slayer at any conceivable point in the future, you'll feel silly having wasted your time on yaks when you could have been slaying, now won't you?
  17. Super set and tuna potatoes, and you should have no trouble. It's not that tough if you're prepared. ;)
  18. The best way to prevent your patience from running out fishing sharks is to not fish sharks, duh! : It's not as if they're a very good moneymaker anyway. I'm 99 fishing and I can barely catch 150 sharks an hour. I mean, you'd be better off mining pure essence, for Pete's sake. :P
  19. QFT. Jagex is aware of player feedback regarding incomplete storylines, and as you can see, they're adding to them. Rocking Out. Kennith's Concerns. Legacy of Seergaze. Dealing with Scabaras. Land of the Goblins. So it's not very tough to see more storylines being added onto in the near future. Not sure there's much to rant about...I mean, how fast do you want these quests released? They only do one update a week, and they can't all be additions to old storylines.
  20. Let's not forget a little spoiler leak for a future installment. Apparently Daeyalt Ore was mentioned when the player searched carts in the Temple of Light...or so I hear. So there could be ties to the Vampyre storyline.
  21. Actually, Magics are the only pyre logs that can be used to burn the Fiyr Remains. So you would indeed get better rewards from it. : Anyway, Maples aren't necessarily the best for everyone. If you can make more than around 400k/hr it's more efficient to burn yews. But that's straying from the point. Firemaking is worthless, and Jagex needs to add content to it.
  22. An unreleased quest, "Mourning's Ends Part 3."
  23. [/hide] When you say "the fast/cheap ones like cooking and fletching," are there any others that you were specifically thinking of? *coughthievingcoughisntbuyablecough* Well I don't know much about thieving so idk how fast it is. Faster 'n cheaper than fletching, actually. It's like playing the lottery. Sometimes you get lucky. Nobody's entitled to a rare drop; the best you can do is put yourself in a position to receive them, and that generally puts you at risk of not receiving one as well. Your first iron dragon kill has the exact same odds of dropping a visage as your 2000th iron dragon kill. Although it's worth mentioning, I think, that it's not that easy to just walk into gwd and expect to solo a hilt drop...not something any n00b can do. You gotta have some pretty high stats, and a strategy worked out beforehand...it's quite different from getting a sara hilt by random at a drop party.
  24. Well that would make sense, except the trouble is we already know that Vyrewatches don't have skeletons. Their corpses are more like dried husks. And all the other vampires (and vampyres) we've killed don't even drop bones--just vampire dust. So I don't think that's it. Btw the wildy isn't really Zamorak's realm. Before it was destroyed in the God Wars it was the realm of Zaros. The Ancient Magicks can still teleport us to what's left of what used to be his 8 great strongholds, none of which still stand: Padewwa, Senntisten, Kharyrll, Lassar, Dareeyak, Carralangar, Annakarl, and Ghorrock. The latter half of those, as you may know, are located in what is now the Wilderness. Unfortunately for us researchers here, the Ruins we're talking about are so far untraceable to Zaros. (Not to be confused with the other ruins west of the Bandit's Camp, which used to be Dareeyak.)
