  1. Ahh the rangers won...good thing I picked WSH in 5, I almost picked them in 4.
  2. Actually, I know a few people who were quite happy with their arranged marriages. The media publishes the horror stories but not the ones that work out great.
  3. Please don't create duplicate topics. Locked.
  4. I think an efficiency subform of H&A is an excellent idea. I don't think it needs separate moderators though.
  5. I agree, there isn't a good case for banning it. But there isn't no case. Arguing that there is no possible security repercussion caused by allowing people to hide their face in public is asinine.
  6. I clearly stated what advantage being disguised and unquestioned gives before. The same thing in a bank - they can stand around, analyze the situation, look for cameras, and plan, all without their face being visible. A jacket is not beneficial to robbers to the extent an unquestioned face covering is. You do realize I don't even support banning the burqa, right?
  7. They could, that's the point. They could wear one, walk casually into a store, spend ten minutes looking for security cameras, and waiting for other customers to leave. You can't realistically do that wearing a ski mask or pantyhose.
  8. No, but they will hurriedly put it on before entering the store, thus alerting everyone around (outside and in) of their intent. A burqa is different (unless of course it was illegal and would be seen in the same way).
  9. How is this different than wearing a ski mask, pantyhose, and all of the other stuff that robbers usually wear? Because if you see someone in one of these, you know they're going to commit robbery (to a reasonable extent). You can't know that with someone wearing a burqa until they've actually pulled the gun on you, which leaves you very little time to do anything about it.
  10. Yeah. Def shouldn't have picked Boston to win in 6.
  11. Yep, going to need some pictures. Please edit them in or this will be locked :(
  12. Interesting subject. I've always stood by the position that a better course of action is allowing the full facial coverings but now allowing people who insist on wearing facial coverings to have photo id; so basically: no passport, no driver's license - no voting, can't buy alcohol, cigarettes, or lottery tickets, etc, etc. So basically give them them the ability to wear it if they want but make it very inconvenient to do so.
  13. Yup. Plus they don't feel natural at all (and can cause medical problems). It seems a lot of guys do like that "perfectly together, no bounce" look though.
  14. Let in 5 goals, not quite. But we'll see. Anyway, we're getting off topic. I do not like sexually transmitted infections on my opposite sex.
  15. Wow, Boston is getting spanked. Down 2-0 two minutes in. I still think if they can play their game they can easily beat MTL - but the habs are playing well and Boston has been terrible.
  16. Don't worry, he'll be shaving in a week anyway :P I agree, I'd grow a playoff beard but it would be more like a playoff dust moustache.
  17. Yes, because the fault for any client-side crash automatically resides with Jagex, who should be able to guarantee that their software runs flawlessly on every one of the hundred million machines that have tried.
  18. Yep, you guessed it. We're all sissy boys who are afraid of dating 500lb women. Don't hate on us sissies. I'd hit it. I wouldn't date it though. So I find anything bigger than Cs a turn off, so shoot me. We all have things that make the opposite sex unattractive to us, that's what this thread is about. And I think the only thing that would put a girl into the "off limits" category is if she was covered in feces or had a cut off arm or bleeding wound. I think anyone who bickers over the difference between something like a 32 inch waist vs a 40 inch waist probably hasnt gotten much action. I think we can agree that if women were as picky as the guys on this thread, no one would ever get laid.
  19. Hey, I've moved your topic to our help and advice forum. You'll get better answers here.
  20. So if it's simple and easy to do, we should do it? What if someone asks all their posts be deleted? That can be done in one second, should we do that?
  21. That's true, but bear in mind the Canucks have a winning record (on the season) against almost every other team as well. Even against the Pacific division they still had a 13-5-2 record. That's good then. Any excuse to believe a Canadian team is a legitimate contender is good enough for me. And I just wanted to post this link here: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/667463-winnipeg-jets-return-imminent-true-north-sports-to-unveil-ticket-drive I'm getting hyped. A chance to see the NHL up close and in person? Yes please. Nothing official though, but if we're selling tickets it must be damn close. Yeah, I think it's likely the Coyotes will move. I don't think it's official yet. Glad ANA and VAN won, and wow PIT got roflstomped :P
  22. I'm undecided as to whether to buy it. I enjoyed the first one, but this one is quite pricy.....
  23. This is already in place, pretty much. If there's any doubt about the validity of the advice the moderators who still play are always consulted. Then we get all kinds of backlash from users saying they haven't broken any rules. The admins moderate the moderators. Already in place as well, if offenses are far apart bans are much less likely to be handed out. Then the poster complaints that the post wasn't pointless. If everyone stuck to your suggestion, we'd have no problem. The problem is that most users see spam as an occasion to spam more. The mod team does our best to be consistent, but often situations come up which haven't been addressed and sometimes mod opinion will differ, Already happens, and it leads to complaints of "unfair action" like we've seen over the past week. Reports are always looked through. If a post remains it's because it's been deemed acceptable or simply been misssed. Name calling isn't allowed period. We tried to crack down on that, and that's part of the reason this whole issue happened. I have never in my time here seen someone banned for taking positions in an argument, or banned because they weren't liked. In fact, several users who almost everyone else (staff and other users included) detested have stuck around for a long time precisely because we don't pan because of personal feelings. If you have actually seen this happen, message an administrator and they'll sort it.
