  1. Or you could just put this on the philosophy thread: http://forum.tip.it/topic/276183-philosophy-riddles-and-complete-mindbleeps/ Locked.
  2. Goodbye Laila, thanks for all the hard work!
  3. Voted. I'm surprised at the voting system though, as it can basically be spammed...

Lol good luck. I have one more present to buy too :(
  5. There's the problem, the homophobic attitude of many of the people in the military. Thing is, having a 'no openly gay' official policy hardly helps matters, does it? In the longer term, it will be beneficial. It's the transition between the two that will be difficult, but it's worth it in the long run to minimise if not eliminate homophobia. I don't think homophobia will ever stop in the military. Its just something that will always be there. I think they have a right to be openly gay, but that doesn't take away from the fact that they will be discriminated, attacked, etc. It's just so much more of a hassle for the already incapable government we have. People said the same thing about racism and sexism - it may never completely stop but it can certainly diminish.
  6. Richards was quoted as saying he'd be interested in Toronto though...still, I guess we'll see. Here's the thing with Stamkos - how much does he like TB? They have a self imposed cap of something like 40 million and they're stuck paying lecavalier 10 million a year for several more years - paying St Louis as well (who earns his keep) and with everyone else they may not be able to afford a reasonable salary for stamkos. Realistically, he's looking at AT LEAST a 6-7 mil 3-5 year deal. Probably more, to be honest. Kessel isn't terrible, but he's a floater. He's quite a good player when he's motivated; but he's rarely motivated. He's still quite young though so I'm hoping he'll grow out of that. Trading schenn/khadri would be so dumb lol. I seriously think schenn is a future Norris candidate....
  7. Well, previous advice stands. Talk to her about how you feel, and if she blows you off, break up with her (or at least make it clear you have a serious problem with it).
  8. Sorry. I don't think this works outside of the UK, but here's a mighty good interview with Assange regarding Wikileaks and the sexual assault allegations, the first one after he was granted bail. http://news.bbc.co.u...000/9308216.stm EDIT: And a transcript for people who can't listen to it. http://news.bbc.co.uk/today/hi/today/newsid_9309000/9309320.stm Works for me (Canada).
  9. The heel looks weird - it should just be flat imo. Bought this jacket the other day aha(excuse the creepy model): At least I think that was it...
  10. He's had a pretty good year with Dallas which makes it harder....someone a little younger would fit better with their vision for the team. Still, not like there are a lot of options eh? I'm hoping the lightning ownership decides they can't afford Stamkos at the end of the year, personally :D With Kaberle + Gigeure gone Burke could afford basically anything Stamkos wants, and the guy is from Markham....
  11. Thing is, this was already happening. At least now they can report it as discrimination and not have to worry about being kicked out of the army.
  12. Well, it can be anything really, but generally if an annoying friend was the only problem it wouldn't be a big deal. Like you said, if it feels like she's de-prioritizing you that could be a problem....
  13. Well that and straight men would still be attracted to lesbians & vice versa. Group showers are just bad news :P
  14. Yeah inconsistency is the curse of a young team. Hopefully they can pick up a good center before next season and I think they'll be serious playoff competition then.
  15. I'd thought about whether it would be a good idea or not to treat gay people as the opposite sex...such as make gay men room with women and vice versa. But obviously that wouldn't work..... I suppose you could do "gay only" dorms and such but then we're right back to segregated units lol.
  16. If you only feel like you're falling apart because of her friend, that's a sign of something else. If you feel like you're giving more than you're getting, tell her how you feel, and that you're considering ending it. If she cares about you enough, she'll give you what you want. If not, you'll be better off without her (as harsh as that sounds).
  17. And you were right. Last night was pretty bad as well, although grabovski is doing well :P
  18. they have the ability to get married though. Also some other unique issues that they made special exceptions for, say if a women gets pregnant during her time in the military she can leave if she wants with an Honorable Discharge. Something they dont offer males. I have no reason to believe that homosexuals wont get similar special treatment to accommodate them as well I'm not talking about whether it should or shouldn't happen, all I'm saying is that I doubt it's a bridge as you claim because the precedent isn't there with heterosexual couples.
  19. They could disallow death benefits quite easily if marriage is still illegal. After all, lovers/girlfriends of army soldiers don't get death benefits (at least as far as I know).
  20. Well the policy conveniently allows you to be gay, as long as you don't say you are....hence the don't ask don't tell. Still, even more reason to get rid of it.

Deleted my facebook so I don't care. I did see them though and it looked interesting. Saw some cool things with the profile pics...
  22. Well, a few days ago Congress and the Senate voted to repeal Don't ask Don't Tell, which was a Clinton era policy prohibiting gays from openly serving in the military. Story here: http://www.newsweek.com/2010/12/19/dadt-repeal-begins-a-long-tortured-process.html How do you feel about this? Personally, I think it's long overdue. Whatever objections you may have related to gay marriage or other homosexual issues, gays have served in the military for quite some time and there's obviously no good reason to disallow them from doing so.
  23. The first two are ok, the third one is both good and bad at the same time (mostly because it's too light). Nice shots though :)
  24. Go to the ISP's website (should be easy enough to find). Look for what the specs are on the basic package. Download speed, upload speed, and monthly bandwidth. Calling your ISP to double check what package you have wouldn't hurt either. The reason I ask is because if you have a really basic package those slow speeds may be all you pay for. If that's the case, your best bet may be to look at upgrading your connection.
