Aha that sucks. Canada vs. Russia tonight, as much as I want Canada to win I think Russia will probably take it...
  2. It's called contribution to the greater good of society. If it works out correctly you get the money back in some form or another. But please, don't pay taxes. I'm sure you'de rather pay your own insurance, pay for your own roads, pay for your healthcare, education, pay for your libraries, community centeres etc. That would make much more sense than just paying tax.
  3. As my thought process evolved on the topic i should have never put in censor but used only limit and im only talking about the update threads not any other threads. Look at page 8 and part of page 9 of the 22-Feb-2010 - Impetuous Impulses Improvements update thread its full of arguing about the fire cape change with icewryms. What im saying or lobbying for at this point is for 2 update threads for each update one for information only about the new update and another where people can voice their opinions or anything else about the update that isnt informative. Maybe after 3 or 4 days the two topics can be merged into 1 or maybe just left has 2 topics idk. It's not that hard to find...and while I agree that it can be annoying it's simply impractical and unfair to restrict people's discussion as long as it's relevant.

Lol me too, all I know is Canada owns at it. Canadian womens hockey team is on fire. I'm sure they'll end up playing the states, probably will be the only close game of the tourney. Mens hockey tonight...If I had to call it I'd say Canada will beat Germany, but having to play Russia with no rest, well, I think that's a bit much to ask for. My medal picks: 1) Sweden 2) United States 3) Russia
  5. You know, the staff could go all nazi-mod and delete anything and everything, but then people leave. The internet is about freedom of speech, freedom of information, and as long as someone isn't being offensive, who has the right to control what they say?

Second one looks too intense, that's probably just me though... I like the first :)
  7. No need to fragment off topic any more than it already is, not to mention the fact that there isn't much philisophical discussion going on in OT, and when there is it usually quickly degrades to people calling each other idiots.

It's not that shocking at all, while Canada was a favorite the States has a solid team, and there's a ton of other competition as well. All the States did last night is piggyback off of impressive goaltending. Canada won't be able to win the tourney that way, so it's a nice wakeup call, they'd better pull their act together soon. As for Brodeur, well, I still maintain several of the goals weren't his fault, and even then it's hard to play a perfect game when your team has so badly abandoned you.
  9. Pick up a sport. I don't know how your school is but no matter how good you were at my school they always had room to do something. Try to bike/walk short distances, and if you are a gamer, do pushups while doing something afk'able. That or you can sit on an exercise bike instead of a chair ;)
  10. I'd have to say try pyro/heavy first. Maybe then switch to soldier and demo. Medic is fine but it does take a lot of skill. Sniper just sucks, and scout/spy have very specific tactics but can be great fun once you've got some game experience.

Why does everyone say this? Brodeur is the better goalie than Luongo. Look at the first game - yes, Luongo got a shutout, but it was an easy game. Canada only beat the Swiss because Brodeur was so good and in the shootout there's no way Luongo would have fared as well. Both the goals on Broduer in that game weren't his fault, both were deflections I believe. I didn't watch all of the Canada vs. US game last night but I know the first goal was a deflection and the second was due to terrible defensive zone coverage from the Canadian defence. The Canadians have a lot of work to do as a team offensively and defensively, Broduer is the least of their problems.
  12. I believe he's using his code with permission.
  13. I like climateaudit.org, but I wouldn't exactly call it unbaised - it definitely has a deniers slant.

Interested to see how mens hockey turns out - expectations of Canada are ridiculously high as always, and we have a great team, but the competition is insane. That win against Switzerland was close last night, and while they have a solid team, they're no Russia or Sweden.
  15. Not much more to say than this, phenomenal work.
  16. Not really looking to lose weight, but I tried it out anyway. Cals 1714 Fat 66.9 g Cholesterol 70 mg Sodium 1610 mg Carbs 272.7 g Sugars 101.1 g Fiber 22 g Protein 66.23 g Slightly over for fat, sugar at 253% :( Protien slightly over as well but I'll probably do a mild workout today so that should make up for it. After adding in the carrots I'd normally eat but won't (ran out): Cals 1819 Fat 66.9 g Cholesterol 70 mg Sodium 1805 mg Carbs 296.7 g Sugars 116.1 g Fiber 28 g Protein 69.23 g
  17. That's absolutely ridiculous. That's why I don't have a webcam :P Although if it was part of the laptop I suppose I'd just cover it up with something.
  18. I thought DK closed? Oh well grats.
  19. Lets see, odd jobs.. I've mowed lawns, shovelled driveways, delivered newspapers, cleaned showers, babysat, blown/raked leaves, and copied poems (don't ask). Real job wise - Made pizza for 3.5 years, work in the automotive department of a hardware store, and program for one of the nearby municipalities.
  20. Yeah....guy seems way too small as well.
  21. Hate to sound a tool. But Jesus was not the only person claiming to be the son of God and Messiah's at that period in time. In fact his some followers participate in stoning (can't remember if it was to death) another son of god/Messiah not long after Jesus has died according to the bible. The only reason people relate to Jesus is he was slightly more popular at the time and the "resurrection" (highly debated as it isn't actually mentioned in the earlier bibles found and is thought by many to have been added later as almost a 1up). I'm sorry, but Jesus wasn't that special he was just one of many Messiah's (doctor and alternative thinker) at the time who got rose tinted glasses in the history book. Why did he get rose tinted glasses? Surely he had to have a significant following in order to merit that? If there were so many at the time, why was he the only one who prevailed? Was it because there was something special about him?
  22. Read it all.. he makes several points typical of athiests. A quick point: He asks why God hasn't revealed himself to us? He has...in Jesus. Oh, but that's right, the bible is a complete lie. But I'm sure all the other historical documents he referenced are accurate. Looks like thiests aren't the only ones picking and choosing. Free will: God doesn't control us. I'm sure someone's going to quote this post and argue with me, but that doesn't oblige him to do it. People who claim to tell the future, maybe they can, but they don't control it. Lets look as well at his theory of "design by chance". A common analogy used by athiests and beleivers in design by chance is that if you put monkeys to keyboards they would eventually write a shakesperean sonnet. Makes sense, right? Well, not quite. You see, a very famous athiest tested this theory. He trained 6 monkeys to type on keyboards. After 6 months of typing they had not written a single English word..inluding " a ". One single word, as a percentage of a shakespearean sonnet, would have taken millions of years for them to write. A rough calucation based on the number of "random chances" needed to create us basically told him that the universe hasn't existed long enough for those random chances to all have occured. And Ps. This athiest is now Catholic. I'll try to find a link explaining this, it's probably pretty confusing and I don't remember it too well. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Infinite_monkey_theorem - Here's the wiki, can't find who actuall did the experiment though.
  23. Oh, yeah, easily. Thing would probably pass out in the middle of the fight  Or be extremely hungry and vicious ;)
  24. Nothing wrong with adults and teens playing video games...its when little kids play violent games that it has detrimental affects to their upbringing.
  25. I'd say you're probably the most a human could hope to beat is in the coyote/wolf/hyena range. They use mainly their jaws as weapons, and while they are deadly, obviously, it is only one thing to worry about. With a tiger, for instance, you neutralize the jaws but still have the claws to work around. Plus the strength of it would be too much to handle.
