Possibly buying a new computer - new question
obfuscator replied to obfuscator's topic in Tech and Computers
Ok, so I got it installed, boots up fine..I think. The mobo I got doesn't have an onboard video card - so how can I install windows etc? I assume the video card I bought wouldn't work until I install the driver, which i assume I can't do until I install windows? Thanks for the help in advance. EDIT: The mobo does have a port that looks almost the same as a VGA, except it's green and with fewer pins. What is this? EDIT EDIT: I think it's a serial port, I don't suppose I can connect my monitor to it? EDIT EDIT EDIT: Included picture: -
Chinese One Child Policy and should it be instated in India?
obfuscator replied to Faux's topic in Off-Topic
Not a huge problem? Say that to me when you are paying 60% taxes for health care comparable to a 3rd world country. I see hardly any benefits - the population will slowly shrink only to have to rise again to sustain the economy, and people lose the freedom that many happen to value. -

LOL. if you don't have enough food\water, communism isn't going to help. If it's never worked before, why would it now? With an exploding population we are not going to have enough food/water. I think I should have said a one party system I guess? China is not exactly a pure communist country, the decision making process is just faster. Let me explain the repurcussions of an aging population. I'm going to make up some stats here obviously since I don't know the real ones. China has a one child policy... so look at it this way. Earning period is 20 - 65. These people pay, directly or indirectly, for healthcare for those 65+ Right now, the majority of china's population is in the 20-65 zone - aka baby boomers. In 20 years, the majority of china's population will be 65+. Basically a minority of the population (say 40%) will be working, trying to generate the funds and sustain the economy to help provide healthcare and services for those no longer earning. With this one child policy - there can never and will never be a sufficient number of people in the earning population to support the elderly population - and at that point huge healthcare cuts will happen, and a global recession is likely, as this is happening in almost all developed countries. So yes, China's population may go down....but at what cost? A two child policy would make far more sense here. Cool thing is we are, right now if a couple marry and both does not have any siblings, then they can have two kids. I do know the con of an aging population as it is a subject that has been discussed to death. That still doesn't help much - you need a solid stream of two kids to keep the population steady - and with that you can have two kids every other generation. The topic has been discussed to death for good reason - it is you and I, just entering the workforce, who will end up having to shoulder the enormous burden of supporting an aging population. -
I hate civic's with a passion. And I know nothing about euro automakers, so can't help much. Hyundai has been doing really well recently though.

I'd like the freedom to have good health care, and not just be stuck in a home to save costs, like you said. -
I'll try it out. Glad to see microsoft is at least attempting to improve now.

Mmm, I love the sound of freedom emmanting from this post...I know that when I get old I'd love to have capped medicare expenses and just be stuck in a retirement home. China hasn't had the one child policy long enough to truly witness the repurcussions - an aging population affects most developed countries, and a country like China where it is being pushed to the extreme can only suffer from it all the more. -
College is a better attitude..because people grow the [bleep] up lol. Sorry to hear about that, glad you're getting stuff straightened out now.

This. If you want all the different levels, then you can assign the levels a number and check what the number is, then choose what to display. -
Should Tip.it limit/censor what people can say?
obfuscator replied to Everyonedies's topic in Forum Updates and Suggestions
Once again, you won't have "easily felt" it unless an event has affected you - in which case pm das. You say you aren't complaining? You are claiming that a staff who takes pride in neutral handling of affairs is being biased...that sounds like a complaint to me. I know that every member of the staff puts the reputation of tip.it ahead of their own clan, and if they don't, that's something I'm sure Das would be glad to take a look at. -
Insane, what more can I say? Glad to see you back :)

I'm not a mod, and it's fine as it is.

Should Tip.it limit/censor what people can say?
obfuscator replied to Everyonedies's topic in Forum Updates and Suggestions
True, Loge leaving didn't change any Tip.it policies, but it did change the fashion in which your policies were maintained. Not trying to shame anyone here, so I'll just provide one of many simple examples from Tip.it forums. Source: http://forum.tip.it/topic/260126-twr-titans-revolution-vs-the-moriquendi/ Source: http://forum.tip.it/topic/229186-twr-information/ In this scenario either someone is being lazy or there is some obvious favoritism going on, both of which did not occur when Loge was around. I can show you a lot more examples, but like I said before I'm not trying to shame anyone, so I hope you can understand the point of my previous statements. There can be a variety of probable causes but from my experience, I'd attribute this to a lack of activity checks. As an admin you also have a responsibility to ensure every mod is fulfilling his/her role on the team, introducing a specific set of objectives for each mod and maintaining a strict deadline can help prevent such things from happening in the near future. Other methods include replacing mods who are constantly inactive or don't act in the best interest of the forum, but you shouldn't go there until you have exhausted your other options. In my opinion, what the mods need most is an active leader who can guide them, something which was lost when Loge departed. Anyway I hope you can understand what I am trying to say, you don't have to listen to me or take me seriously. You can just ignore me and hope everything will turn out fine, but the truth is more and more clans are leaving TWR and your the only one who can do something about it. This is your forum, your traffic, your choice. I'm merely giving you my genuine advice on the matter, so if you choose not to listen, don't say I never gave you anything. Ok, I know I've been talking to you in pm but this is a little unfair. Yes, Mori should have been removed, they have been inactive. You claim favoritism? Why would Mori possibly want to remain on a list if they aren't going to war? Not to mention that no current clan staff members are part of mori....The clan staff have a huge amount of work to be done; bear in mind they are volunteers, who put up with spamming, trolling, mind-numbingly boring tasks such as updating the twr, only to have people complain they aren't doing it right. I understand your frustration, but just as you say this situation may require improvement from the staff, you have the option of being proactive and mentioning it to someone so it can be dealt with. -
People who are religious can be bigots, yes, but they don't have to be. My religion may preach that those who do not follow will go to hell...but I don't consider myself to be above anyone else because of that. Ultimately, we all make our own choices in life, that's the beauty of life in the first place. If someone else doesn't want to follow my religion, they don't have to, and it doesn't make them any less of a person. But yes, according to my faith, it does mean they will end up in hell.

Ridiculous. Lets just be even softer on our kids now right, so they can grow up thinking they deserve life on a platter and lazy as [bleep].

Interesting, I'll download that once I get home (at work atm).

This. Plus complainers are just as annoying as idiots.

I didn't want to hearth, I needed to be there...lol. Besides every time he killed me I was right next to the graveyard anyway.

Roll a death knight even if you do not like them. Their starting quest is probably the best quest storyline in WoW, try it out. Maybe later, I want to get to 80 on my pally first. And yeah I'm terrible at pvp, not much I could do at that level difference though.

Got level 60, went to outland...this level 80 blood elf pally one-shotted me 5+ times...was a bit annoying.
