  1. Perhaps more should have gone towards education so that illiterate people like you can type multiple sentences with proper grammar. Only in my wildest dreams. you win the douche of the hour award. Not to spam: @ Um_Bong and Stevepole: I've heard far more horror stories from people with NHS, then with privatized. Just saying... It may have its benefits, but I believe the cons (in my opinion) far outweigh the pros. If I won it by being an intellectual, then I will accept it gladly. I would much rather be an intelligent douche than an illiterate fool. Back on topic, I fear that this will only hinder America. Studies and polls have shown that approximately 60-70% of doctors surveyed will leave the United States for other countries if the bill is passed. Have fun getting into the hospital while there are an increased number of people there with children who have a stomach ache, and lucky you, who might have a serious problem like a broken bone, just get to sit and wait your turn. You might say that in that case your condition would warrant immediate treatment, and in privatized health care it would. However, under universal health care, you become just another number. Well, not only a douche, but judgemental and pretentious as well  If someone mistakenly uses one word wrong, especially someone who I respect and know to be intelligent...I get over it. It's not a big deal. I love this argument, seriously. I'm sure that 70% of American doctors couldn't possibly deal with a cap on insurance premiums. Oh the horror, we aren't going to be able to profit off people's medical misfortunes any more. What a sad story :( Canada has universal healthcare - and if I were to go to the emergency room with a stomachache, I would be waiting for hours. If I went with heart palpitations (which I have) I would walk straight to the desk and be inside in 5 minutes. It's not even like this bill is publicizing healthcare anyway - at least not nearly as much as it could. And @ pinkbullet: I'm not privy to the ins and outs of this bill as I'm not American but as I understand it it caps the amount insurance companies can charge for health insurance, making the lower earning members of society more likely to be able to recieve health insurance.
  2. Stevepole to the rescue!
  3. Who knew a mass grave could be so exciting? :P I always pictured vikings in their forties for some reason...maybe it's the beards.
  4. This question has actually intrigued me for a while. Obviously, like everyone else, I have my preferences and my dislikes. Were I to name my favorite genre, it would classic rock, and my most hated, probably pop or techno. However - many artists in these genres are liked and hated by others - so I've been trying to come up with some universal qualification for whether music is of quality or not. The qualifier I use is talent. Let's take an artist like Michael Jackson, for example. He's really not my thing; I can't say I like any of his songs, I think he's very overhyped by the media and I just hate the genre. But...his talent is undenaible. He's an incredible songwriter, dancer, and powerful performer - in my eyes this makes his music good. Rap - another genre I highly dislike. I hate the culture, the song topics, etc, etc. But rap can be a pretty hard skill to master; as much as I may hate the genre some rappers work their [wagon] off to be good at what they do, and they can be really talented. Flip side: I love guitar riffs - all metal appeals to me to a degree (though I'm not a big fan of screaming) but sometimes there are metal bands, or rock bands, who record their tracks, throw them into protools, and then expect to be huge hits. I don't consider them talented, therefore I consider that bad music. And there's the Disney (type) artists. For example, Justin Beiber. His songs aren't terrible, but they're not him. He is a creation of advertizing, sound manipulation, and clever image creation - therefore I consider his work bad music. Anyway...it works for me!
  5. Yeah it was this thing, once I plugged it in everything worked fine, and looks pretty sexy too :)
  6. [hide] Meh You meh tiffany shepis? While shes not going to win any awards for acting (B movie scream queens typically dont) she's mile above her peers and is a "poor man's Angelina Jolie" Shes friendly and personable and since i'm at work and most of her pictures are probably not something an admin should post - so i'll reference my autograph collection here. Shes very friendly and personable too. Shes the only celebrity I have over 5 times (6 in total) - Her signature has evolved quite a bit in a 10 year period from a less fancy signature to a more "fancy one" First pretty face: Smoking Body: Combination of the two: Super hot! [/hide] Ahh ok, I see what you mean...those pictures are significantly better than what I found on google images :P And dammit shadowfax, who is that?
  7. Search for your video drives on the Internet. If you can't find them, run Windows Update, which will install all your drivers for you. EDIT: Hey, this is Kyle. I forgot I was still on the PKM account. Aha hey man, I figured it was you, who else would be on the PKM account? :P I got it working now, problem was the mobo had some kind of secondary power jack that I hadn't plugged into, plugged in and it worked fine. Though if the card driver had been the problem, that solution wouldn't have worked as this was a clean build and I didn't have Windows installed...and I can't install Windows without seeing the screen :P
  8. And...it's not working. Trying to troubleshoot, if anyone has any ideas let me know.
  9. Me too, weird because I love the warcraft series, especially 3.
  10. Meh. Hope I didn't post this already...but Julia Roberts <3:
  11. Ok, so I got it installed, boots up fine..I think. The mobo I got doesn't have an onboard video card - so how can I install windows etc? I assume the video card I bought wouldn't work until I install the driver, which i assume I can't do until I install windows? Thanks for the help in advance. EDIT: The mobo does have a port that looks almost the same as a VGA, except it's green and with fewer pins. What is this? EDIT EDIT: I think it's a serial port, I don't suppose I can connect my monitor to it? EDIT EDIT EDIT: Included picture:
  12. Not a huge problem? Say that to me when you are paying 60% taxes for health care comparable to a 3rd world country. I see hardly any benefits - the population will slowly shrink only to have to rise again to sustain the economy, and people lose the freedom that many happen to value.
  13. LOL. if you don't have enough food\water, communism isn't going to help. If it's never worked before, why would it now? With an exploding population we are not going to have enough food/water. I think I should have said a one party system I guess? China is not exactly a pure communist country, the decision making process is just faster. Let me explain the repurcussions of an aging population. I'm going to make up some stats here obviously since I don't know the real ones. China has a one child policy... so look at it this way. Earning period is 20 - 65. These people pay, directly or indirectly, for healthcare for those 65+ Right now, the majority of china's population is in the 20-65 zone - aka baby boomers. In 20 years, the majority of china's population will be 65+. Basically a minority of the population (say 40%) will be working, trying to generate the funds and sustain the economy to help provide healthcare and services for those no longer earning. With this one child policy - there can never and will never be a sufficient number of people in the earning population to support the elderly population - and at that point huge healthcare cuts will happen, and a global recession is likely, as this is happening in almost all developed countries. So yes, China's population may go down....but at what cost? A two child policy would make far more sense here. Cool thing is we are, right now if a couple marry and both does not have any siblings, then they can have two kids. I do know the con of an aging population as it is a subject that has been discussed to death. That still doesn't help much - you need a solid stream of two kids to keep the population steady - and with that you can have two kids every other generation. The topic has been discussed to death for good reason - it is you and I, just entering the workforce, who will end up having to shoulder the enormous burden of supporting an aging population.

I hate civic's with a passion. And I know nothing about euro automakers, so can't help much. Hyundai has been doing really well recently though.

  16. I'd like the freedom to have good health care, and not just be stuck in a home to save costs, like you said.
  17. IE9

I'll try it out. Glad to see microsoft is at least attempting to improve now.
  18. Mmm, I love the sound of freedom emmanting from this post...I know that when I get old I'd love to have capped medicare expenses and just be stuck in a retirement home. China hasn't had the one child policy long enough to truly witness the repurcussions - an aging population affects most developed countries, and a country like China where it is being pushed to the extreme can only suffer from it all the more.
  19. College is a better attitude..because people grow the [bleep] up lol. Sorry to hear about that, glad you're getting stuff straightened out now.
  20. Having a bad day with Java are we? :P
  21. This. If you want all the different levels, then you can assign the levels a number and check what the number is, then choose what to display.
  22. Once again, you won't have "easily felt" it unless an event has affected you - in which case pm das. You say you aren't complaining? You are claiming that a staff who takes pride in neutral handling of affairs is being biased...that sounds like a complaint to me. I know that every member of the staff puts the reputation of tip.it ahead of their own clan, and if they don't, that's something I'm sure Das would be glad to take a look at.
  23. Insane, what more can I say? Glad to see you back :)
